  • This tutorial discusses a range of alternate fingerings that can be used to play the note F sharp above high C on the saxophone. These options include playing high F sharp on saxophones that don't have a specific high F sharp key or even an auxiliary high F key built into the mechanism.
    High F sharp is an important note for all saxophonists as on tenor and soprano saxophones it represents E concert, and on sopranino, alto and baritone saxophones A concert. E and A concert are very popular keys in music hence a sax player will often end up playing in keys that require the high F sharp.
