I asked my cool aunt what i should do. She told me that trust was never a real thing. I realized then that my cool aunt was really just a heartbroken women. Left by the person she loved the most. Life changing moment for me

The therapist told me something I need to realize is that I’m going through a phase of life where your slowly realizing that all the people in your life the adults your parents grandparents, teachers, bosses, the therapist herself
Are all just people who are learning and growing constantly like I am and they also just as flaws and imperfect and fucked up as I am.
This whole conversation came up cause I asked her

My daughters cool aunt had a best friend that shacked up with an islamic drug dealing criminal and got pregnant by him just before he shot and killed a cop and ended up in jail for life. His extremely religious family took over her life and started dictating what she could wear and where she could go, what she was allowed to do with her own child, so she shacked up with another drug dealer that wasn't islamic that got her hooked on meth so she abandoned her kid with this family and wasn't seen or heard from again. My daughters cool aunt has a "drug drawer" in her kitchen next to the utensils where she keeps everything from cocaine, percs, oxys, mushrooms, weed, etc.... Needless to say, my daughter has only seen her cool aunt a handful of times in her life, under my supervision. I don't want my daughter to end up cool.
