- This was the United States broadcast television schedule on all three commercial television networks on Saturday mornings for the season beginning in the fall of 1983 and ending in the spring of 1984. Unable to show The Dukes and Bugs Bunny road runner show due to copyright, but intros and credits are there.

Yes, I feel my childhood memories coming back to me with Saturday Supercade and Dungeons & Dragons and of course, the In The News segments! Keep the Saturday morning cartoons alive!

Oh hell yeah, the rare Saturday Supercade. You know this whole series is in a box in an office someplace. Wish this would get released in whole. Loved it.

I always love these commercials segments on NBC ABC and CBS cartoons.
Dungeons and Dragons was one of my favorite Saturday Morning toons to watch!!

It’s crazy this specific cartoon block is uploaded and I randomly got the YT algorithm for me to watch.
I recall the day this episode of Saturday Supercade premiered vividly. My father had custody of us and we stayed at my future Stepmom’s home. She had to get up early in the morning for work at the grocery store she worked at and my brothers and I were excited about watching Saturday cartoons. She prepped us some chopped fruits before she left.
My father woke up later that morning and made us breakfast and then we watched Cannonball Run and Fast Times at Ridgemont High on Showtime later that day with cousins who showed up for a family get together.
TL;DR I recall memorable events on cues from random visual aids that trigger memories.
Oh yeah and it was raining hard that day.
Still cool, even though you cant show the dukes and bugs. We watch these videos every Saturday morning with a bowl of cereal. Thank you!!!

Liked. Just saw a video recently where the guy that said he was in charge of getting the master tape to CBS with the D&D ad left it at a restaurant he had lunch at, so he had to drive back, tip a waiter and then drive to the network quickly to make sure they had it in time to advertise the fall Saturday Morning cartoon lineup.

I remember when Strawberry Honeycomb became the cereal's newly introduced (and short-lived) flavor in 1983. The commercial featuring the guy driving a giant strawberry-shaped car and interrupting the kids' baseball game was spot on!

I find the Donkey Kong segment hilarious for a number of reasons. Even sounds like the guy that voices Mario in the Super Show.
See Ing Bill Cosby talk about “hacking computers” in 1983 blew my mind, I remember being “taught” computers in 1983-85 they didn’t seem to have much capability at the time.

Wow, reliving my 12 ear old self, I always watched dungeons an dragons, and liked the lil "in the news" segments, such a simpler, innocent time, and saturday morning cartoons were awesome. sleuthing i think this was airing in the 3 rd week of oct 1983, Awesome, Thank you kindly !

The early 80’s were great for Saturday morning shows. You still had the old favorites held over from the 70’s, as well as new and creative shows…there were big hits on all three networks. Making channel surfing common and watching one show one week and the other show the following if two good ones on different stations were on at the same time. The 30 minute toy commercial shows and teen dating live action programs had not yet reared their heads, so all was good on Saturday mornings. This lineup was solid…lots of diverse programs that meshed well together. The good old Captain was hanging on having been knocked back to weekends only…but thankfully he reverted to his original set rather than the ridiculous computer space station junk he was ordered to use by higher ups in his last season Mon-Fri. Of course there was the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner…you have to have it. Seeing the Peanuts gang in a regular season was a welcome addition, quick and fun clips taken from the comic strips. Benji was a cute show. Well done on a low budget. It probably would have done better in the ratings if the show was not directly up against the other cute Puppy…Petey and his buds…airing at the same time on ABC. Supercade was entertaining enough…product of the time, and Biskitts shined with its nice animation. Fun times back then.

The Fat Albert episode Computer Hacker didn't air until after syndication. I remember the 60 Episodes were air on CBS Saturday Mornings.

It's funny how today you have plenty of places including UA-cam and Wikipedia to look up information like President's birthdays and how many kids they had, you don't need a hacker. How far we've come in 40 years. I didn't even think twice about how the kid in Fat Albert found his information, that's how much things have changed. I'm not even a milennial, I was born in 1978!

I don't think Pee-Wee's Playhouse came out until somewhere in the late 1980s. By then, I don't think they were showing the In The News segments anymore. Then again, if I'm wrong, my apologies.

Notice what’s missing from this news piece? No commentary about climate change or global warming. Remember when the news used to just report the news without editorializing or pushing an agenda???

Get this, CBS is allowing its deal with Litton to expire, next year and plans to return to airing Saturday morning cartoons in the 2023-24 season. MeTV with its Saturday morning block of classic cartoons(Popeye, Pink Panther, Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes) has obviously forced CBS's hand and yes, this will eventually have a domino effect, because this news will also force both ABC's and NBC's hands as well. Fox is out of it and CW is continuing its deal with Litton. However, the CTA of 1990 needs to be reformed, because the way it is, it's no longer working. CBS's SatAM lineup for the 2023-24 season will get some assistance from Paramount + streaming services and Nickelodeon. With ABC and NBC, eventually, assistance from Disney + and Peacock streaming services, respectively, to help restart SatAM cartoon programming on both networks. Let the next era of Saturday morning cartoons commence, starting in the 2023-24 season, but this will be a gradual process!!!
