It might work, but I worry about the heat of the gun so close to the plastic, issues with hot glue on the plastic hair etc etc. The general consensus among the doll customizing community is that Fabritac or other similar glues are the best go to glues for doll reroots. The similarities between my little pony and doll reroots makes me think it might be somthing u (or any one reading this comment that is interested in customizing) want to look into.

Have you tried soaking the heads in hot water to remove them? It softens the plastic temporarily. I've seen a few other people use this method
