I really like these record store / crate digging videos. Especially when there are multiple stores involved. Looking forward to seeing exactly what you got. Oh, and I know Brad! He has posted a couple of my videos on his blog, which was very nice of him. It's funny how I keep running into the same names on other people's videos. :)
Hi matt - thanks for watching. Would have been nice to have had lots and lots of time to do more filming/editing and interview store owners etc.. but I did what I could... Brad and I certainly enjoyed the few hours we had. It is a rare thing for me to find time to look through stores....
Craig, nice update. Thanks for taking us along on your trip. :) I gotta admit, while you were standing there looking at the metal, I was drooling waiting for you to flip through the Danzig records. LOL
Oh - In Dixon's - They had a copy of Adrian Belew's "Lone Rhino" - it's a great album, totally underrated. Great video - those look like some wonderful shops. Cheers.
Should go to Discography Records and Coffee in Preston when you have a chance. Great little store in Preston. Looking forward to listening to the podcast.
I live in Toowoomba., Queensland. Unfortunately I changed jobs and so don't travel at the moment to get back to Melbourne. I do buy a lot from Discrepancy Records online. Where I live, the nearest indi store is almost a 2 hour drive!! Thanks
Craig, I will be in Melbourne a few days. Limited with time. Hoping you can recommend a shop with mostly used vinyl and dedicated Australian music section. Thanks!
Good pick up. I got "Ummagumma" from the "Dutch Vinyl" store. I was in heaven looking through these stores as I don't get the chance to see vinyl stores that often.... Cheers..
Nice video! I like to see how people go crate digging. I am doing something similar for my channel. I'm just doing the edit now. It's just that I don't feel confortable walking in stores and filming in there...so I kept it to a minimum. Instead of that I showed something of the city while I was traveling. That will be coming up one of these days on my channel. Check it out if you like. Why didn't you buy the Led Zeppelin 1? It's a amazing record! Keep it up and I'm looking forward to the video of your vinyl finds! TCB, Richard
Hi Richard. I'll have to check that I'm subscribed to you to see your vids. I ask every store owner first if I can film - they all said "no problem". Interesting you mentioned Led Zepp 1. That album is on my "want list". I did look at it but was not prepared to spend AUD 50 on it. I often see it around between $50 and $75. I'm holding out to find one at $40 or less. I know it is only a $10 difference but isn't that what vinyl collecting is about sometimes - finding the record you want for the right price.... I have almost all other Zepp albums...
Are you talking about originals or re-issue's. I have all the re-issues and really, they sound amazing. And you are completely right about wanting to pay the right price for a record. Prices of records are up so high because crazy people are willing to pay that much money for it.....cheerz,, Richard
600 dollars? Yikes, good thing you avoided THAT...think how much vinyl that would buy! Cool shops, hope the credit card didn't take too much of a beating ;-)
Hi Doug... I did ok in terms of spending. I had a budget and stuck to it. The last shop I filmed - "Dixons" - I had to put back about 15 albums I wanted to get as my spend was getting too high!!!
very cool and fun shory about avoiding a parking ticket.Thumbs up! Trish
haha - thanks Trish. It gives me nightmares!!!!

Great job on your video coverage & production. Music is so universal....It is funny, half way around the world, this could be a store by me.
Cheers Steve.... Was it you who showed "The Cramps" in a recent video? When I saw them in the store I thought it was you who mentioned them??
no Craig, I have a Cramps album but have not shown it yet.
Ok - somebody else then.. hmmmmm
Great video! Some very cool stores! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you very much! If only I had more cash - I had to put back many, many albums!!!
I saw a Kids in the kitchen vinyl at Dixons in your video. Aussie 80's band...hard to find here. Still after that one. Cool stores!
Is that a hint David?? I see them around a bit.. Postage is the killer between here and the States / Canada... It was fun for sure...
