Yay! Love this. As a non actor 😁, For me this plays out every time I need to choose between self & family/friends. It’s in my nature to be there for others, yet I know that more so than not I need to be there for myself first. I’ve had to unlearn the idea that choosing me is selfish. Yet I believe that I am because of my community. So if I don’t show the love to my community how can I expect them to hold space for me. It’s a delicate balance I’ve kinda reached.
Yes. It is a very delicate balance. Today I also realised that this is part of life - the balance. There will be days one sways too far in one direction and then you just have to readjust and that's normal. Also taking care of oneself is so important - how can you take care of others if you don't look after yourself. ☺️
