From what I heard, Wakui had some problems with the company where he published Tokyo Revengers and got his ass chewed alot, so he had to rush things and kinda put an end to it. He said some time ago that the ending would be bitter-sweet, but with how things went it’s clear why he changed the ending and left plotholes.

That's was the only "illogical" transformation which can still be argue since he wanted to be kisakis dog but...if kisaki wasn't a full on psycho would of he simp for him to the extent of the ending scene? Idk I think it was illogical, overall all the other characters weren't bad ppl just put in bad situation which is one of the main message the manga conveys which is "the underage prison system doesn't work and it does the opposite of its intention" like all the tenjiku band were bad simply because of there conditions at the prison which treat them like shit, Mikey and takemich beating them and then helping them improve makes sense to me as an end result and then kisaki wasn't always like that, but his lack of friends, solitude and jealousy lead him that path which then takemich helps him giving him a position and friends to be around with and redeems him, there are many illogical out of nowhere stuff but the characters transformation besides hanma is not one of them

The story should've ended 100 chapters ago with Mikey's sacrifice. Everybody was happy and even Mikey was happy to have taken in all the pain so that his comrades could live happily. But Takemichi just had to give up everybody's happy future just to safe Mikey even tho he doesn't even want to be saved. Sadly, the series would never reach the quality of it's beginning again, but - despite the end - it's still an overall alright manga.

Tbh I feel like Takemitchy didn't have to go back in time in order to save Mikey. As much as I like the beginning of the final arc with Takemitchy saying that to Mikey that he will save him, it could have just been done in short conclusion. Maybe Takemitchy could have convinced Mikey to stop his life of crime, go to prison or an institution and get help. Something like that 💀. we didn't have to go back in time again.

I was JUST telling someone this, also. Then after that, Draken died. It was at that moment I started hating Mikey. I would’ve rather had Draken alive, than Mikey. Everyone was HAPPY. And it was satisfying to see it
The "dark impulses" is really where this manga started to go all over the place and not land. Sure, I'm glad every character got a happy ending but with how messily everything was handled, a talk no jutsu ending would have been more satisfying than completely erasing all the characters we've grown to know and their struggles throughout the story

“Dark impulse” is just another way of saying split personality disorder. Mikey’s been through a lot of traumatic experiences. And although he may be the strongest person in the manga physically, he always seemed mentally fragile since the beginning, so it makes sense that he would snap and turn into this really dark and emotionless person due to all of that

Funniest thing was, that at first Takemitchi had to touch something to get the visions to the future but when fighting Mikey he got the visions from nowhere and I think you didn't even realise that they time leaped from the past time even more☠😭

no, they time leap mostly from dying, im pretty sure it's implied that dying makes you time leap because everytime takemichi died (or i guess on the verge of death) he went back, but the time changes, the first time was in middle school when he got pushed in front of the train, the second time when he was in highschool after mikey shot him, and then when he went back to elementary school after mikey stabbed him, hand holding/shaking just sends you to those time points

Yeah I have reeaallly low standards, if something’s entertaining then I’ll just eat it right up. But even I have to admit the ending is so poorly done, like they could’ve at least showed how they made each character good. The shock I got when I saw Izana, Hanma and even South Terano, like how the fuck??? After all the trauma they went through and the manga doesn’t even show us how they overcame that or at least how takemichi and Mikey managed to become friends with them at a younger age? It just went “Mikey lives = everyone happy” and that’s all.
That's the problem, in my opinion. I like the idea of the happy ending and all, but the fact that they didn't specify how Takemichi and Mikey managed to save all the characters who died in the previous timeline is what bothers me.
Yknow maybe the dark impulses could worked if it was rooted from Mikey's trauma and bad mental health instead of a "curse". I think it would give the series more depth if they went in and explored that area in terms of charcter

I think a better ending would’ve been to simply have Takemichi beat Mikey and talk some shit into him so that he gets the help he needs, even if it’s cheesy it’s a lot less messier plus the benefit of having the satisfaction of having the undefeated Mikey he beaten by my boi Takemichi

Or, instead of both time leaping in the past, Takemichi just gives the power to Mikey when he dies by katana and only Mikey goes to the path, the story can be open ended as to what Mikey does from there, maybe a hopeful future or a tragic "meant to be" type of loop.
I would still recommend reading Tokyo Revengers even after the end. Everyone living sucks. But eh, a happy ending is fine. But I was kind of mentally checked out by the end. Takemitchy's goal was to save everyone. And he did. Not entirely satisfied. But the beginning made me cry a bunch and I think the journey was worth it in the end. One more chapter to go.

Honestly, I didn't mind everyone living, I just hated how quick the buildup to that ending was. It was literally a 1 chapter resolution and boom, happy ending. Oh and also the destruction of Naoto's character...that was a very interesting take.

i really dont understand ppl like u who like the suffering and the conflicts, i personally am too emotionally attached with the manga/anime that the happy ending in which everyone is alive (except kisaki, he deserves to stay dead) is the only timeline in which i can be happy and satisfied with

Not me who was thinking the dark impulses are all the accumulated frustration,anger and madness that mikey feels from losing his friends and family ya know people like baji,kazutora and draken.But instead it's a curse caused by shinichiro killing a random hobo on the streets as if shinichiro dying to kazutora wasnt enough karma for him.

Takemitchy saved everyone with Mikey, but noone is the same character anylonger. For example, I think him and Chifuyu aren't best friends anymore. The bonds and character developments were lost by preventing all of the tragedies. So in the end it was a bit bitter sweet ending for me. At least that's how I keep thinking about it (preventing myself from being very disappointed).

That's not the only problem, many conflicts were resolved off-screen without making much sense. Suddenly Kisaki isn't obssesed with Hinata, Taiju isn't a domestic abuser and South is a chill guy without his personal version of the Dark Impulses, to put some examples.

This is a quick summary of how this dark impulse thing was shown.
The Curse, also known as the dark impulses, was set on Shinichiro by the previous time leaper. It was described by Shinichiro as karma, seeking for the one who killed the time leaper. This Curse haunted/hunted the current time leaper, trying to squeeze every last bit of happiness out of him and filling him instead with emptiness(as seen in Mikey´s case) and potentionally killing him. The Curse got on Kazutora, thus he actually killed Shinichiro. Now Kazutora is haunted by the curse and as we know Mikey was the one to kill him but since Shinichiro gave Takemichi the time travel ability without having to harm anybody, the curse has no one to haunt so it just remains. Mikey then was affected by this curse because he killed the one that was affected by it too. There still is no goal to be haunted so it remains thus Mikey became the person he is now(incl. his losses in friends and familiy). The only way to get rid of this curse for good, is to kill the previous time leaper that wasn´t affected by that curse so it´d just eradicate. Takemichi then got killed by Mikey with the curse, but the curse has no purpose anymore since Takemichi didn´t do anything for his ability for karma to strike him. Mikey then, by killing the time leaper, became the time leaper and leaped back. Now they got an happy ending where they can live without the curse since it got crushed.
It is in some way logical, but the way wakui ended this is imo hella bad. An happy ending is the least that could help with the current situation but idk maybe the weird simps of this fandom are happy with it lmao
Bro Mikey is cursed since Shinichiro's first time leap, that's the reason for Sanzu's scars. Shinichiro killing the last leaper (who probably killed the leaper before him considering his situation) gave him "bad karma" which gave Dark Impulses to Mikey (first hurting Sanzu) and later Kazutora (that's why he's so sadistic when killing Shin but is instantly shocked realizing what he did). Kazutora is obviously not mentally strong to handle the DIs so he becomes pretty much insane while Mikey seems to handle them for atleast 10 years in the Bonten timeline.
The time leaper can go back in time focusing on wishing to change something, for Takemichi it's his time with Hina, for Shinichiro is saving Mikey but both trigger near death despite one getting the power in the bad way (killing a leaper) while the other one gets it properly (being gifted). When Takemichi is close to dying he grabs Mikey's hand Shinichiro grabbed his while giving him the power, that is probably what breaks the cycle. Now that Mikey has the power both him and Takemichi wish to change the past so he uses him as his trigger and they go back another ten years, this time Mikey being a legitimate leaper which didn't get the power selfishly (I assume starting a cycle of "good karma" erradicates DI since Mikey clearly lacks it in his time leaper timeline) and Takemichi keeps his memories the same way Sanzu does (Shinichiro's trigger) or even like Mikey does (Takemichi's 2nd trigger) at the start of this arc where after Takemichi timeleaps he notices it and even says something like "So you came back" IIRC.
I obviously think Tenjiku would've been a better ending but this one is getting too much shit because since the Tenjiku fight (since the "Blue Ogre" for me tbh) the storytelling has been way worse making Bonten/KantoMan a confusing arc overall and clearly the worst one to me

The way I understood it was that there were two curses, Mikey got the dark impulse and Shinichiro would die the same way he killed the original time leaper, if you read in the manga the old man told Shinichiro that there were two ways of getting the power, the first was to kill the holder, but Shinichiro didn't wait to hear the second part he jumped and killed the man with a metal pipe, and when the old man was on the ground he told Shinichiro that because of this he is now cursed, and the curse was Mikey's dark impulse and Shinichiro inevitably dying the way he killed the old man as Kazutors kills Shinichiro the same way by hitting him in the head with a metal pipe

I haven't read/watched Tokyo Revengers and don't plan on it, but I appreciate this trend of new shonen series ending sooner rather than later despite being popular. Compared to the era of the Big 3 where every series stretched itself too thin, often getting cancelled because of dwindling popularity, having the authors and editors realise it's time to move on is a lot healthier and gives the series a better send-off.

Ye I agree, it seems so short until you realize the manga has been serialized weekly since 2017, probably due to the fact that the anime was pretty late when adapting the source material.

I knew the second that Draken died that the ending was gonna somehow involve bringing everyone back to life. Also, I think if Tokyo Revengers had just ended after Kisaki was beaten and Takemichi's powers were revealed to everyone and they all went back to the future, it would have been much bettered. This whole last arc was completely unneeded and just completely ruined the manga.
Truly most manga of all time. i like when the main character say: it's tokyin time, and then he's tokyined everyone in the room

The poor execution of this final act of Takemitchy & Mikey hits harder if you read Undead Unluck or ReZero, where the cast pulls out all the stops to make things go differently with each step shown.
Maybe in the LN, but the anime ReZero had little to no explanation of how Subaru learned to defeat Beltegeese othe than "I know your weakness!" All of the sudden, which is absolutely awful writing.
I don't really know about rezero (because I've only watched the anime very long ago), but you are 100% right on undead unluck. Andy and Fuuko and all the negators really gave it their 110% just to get another chance.

Subaru was possessed by him and knew that if he took out all of his 'fingers' Betelgeuse would have no choice but to do it again. I mean, Wakui managed to drag and water down the story for what it felt like 100 chapters and still delivered an ending that feels rushed as fuck
True display of skill
I feel rlly mixed about this ending, there are so many moments where this arc could've been something special, but everything was just executed poorly and rushed. For example, Wakui making Shinichiro the time leaper is something I could get behind; it explains why Mikey was always suspicious of takemitchy ability after the Moebius Arc, and even before that when he questioned his age, BUT I hated how he made the time leaping ability something you inherited from person to person. It was a part of the story that didn't need lore, and it eliminated the possibility of more than one time leaper, destroying the best fan theory of Hanma being a time leaper, which creates many potholes of how Kisaki was always able to get the upper hand on Takemitchy in the future timelines. I also hated how they tackled Mikey's dark impulses, as I always felt that it was clear Mikey's Dark impulses were just symbolism for his depression caused by the death of his older brother and later his close friend. It didn't need to be explained through two extra backstories; readers could tell that Mikey had a shit life and later developed unnatural behaviours from said shitty life. I also hate plane backstory, not just because it was shit, but also because it retcons Sanzu's backstory chapter where Mikey puts him in Toman. Ruining the backstory of Mikey showing kindness to a misunderstood Sanzu who was always wrapped in gang trouble, to Mikey being the sole reason for Sanzu's troubles in the first place. This ruins the fact that Sanzu's loyalty isn't because he wants to return the kindness that Mikey once showed him, but instead into a Hanma clone, who's just in it to see his short companion succeed in their mission.
Dark impulses weren't a symbolism, it was shown it was a genuine thing therefore Mikey was never "bad" there was multiple tim travelers just not at the same time and the biggest fan theory was shin being a time leaper which did happen, kisaki always having the upper hand is not unreasonable by any means, takemichi skips decades in his time travels in *decades* kisaki can do a lot of stuff to get the upper hand in
@@V---L I didn't mean his dark impulses weren't genuine I was talking about how it was used as a symbolic term for his mental breakdowns or when he would become dissociative before the final arc where they completed changed this poetic term which signified the strain on Mikey's psyche, to some curse from his brother's time leaping. It strips Mikey of his mental severity undertones, which we've noticed throughout the manga and replaces it with a Nah, he's just cursed/ it's his destiny bs. This is what I meant when I said how it used to be symbolic, to Wakui changing it to a literal mechanic/curse during the final arc. It just ruins it. And yes, they were multiple time-leaper fan theories, but Shinichiro wasn't the biggest; Hanma was the most common and with only a minority of fans against it due to how obvious it was that he was the other time-leaper. And Kisaki being able to still be on top of Takemichi in every future timeline would be impossible if Hanma wasn't the timekeeper, especially because Kisaki was always at the right place and at the right time that it wouldn't be possible even with his high intellect. It had to be Hanma feeding him information about the future and past.
@@goat_sama8239 ok I get what you mean so I won't argue about the Mikey thing, since that's more subjective, hanma being a time leaper was a massive theory but so was shinichiro, then kisaki wasn't at the right time in anything he set up everything before hand and like I said takemichi when he goes back is literally decades pass where the kisaki issue wasn't completely eradicated and takemich also undermine Mikey's mental issues so after a literal decade I do think someone with the intellect of kisaki can manage to go back to the top

They could view him as some super genius who can solo Takemichi, who has the powers of leaping through time which makes him a formidable antagonist or have him be more grounded with the Hanma theory, where he's the one receiving intel, so he always has the upper hand in every timeline or even the Mikey theory, where Kisaki is the trigger and Mikey is the time leaper, which has some backing to it as when Kisaki gets fired from toman he begs to Mikey to change his mind while holding his hand up as if he wants to trigger the power or when he says to Mikey that he needs him.

We've known that Kisaki's a genius, who always plans ahead and actually takes action to make it happen, so to see Kisaki beating Takemichi in almost every timeline is reasonable. I do know you mentioned that theory about Hanma being the time leaper, but then again, it's just a theory, and it didn't come true - although I think it would've been nice if it did. I do agree with your other points on how Ken Wakui-san turned Mikey's mental illness into some sort of an identity of his, though. I think it's too edgy in my opinion, and it sounds like something most Gen Z kids would do by romanticizing mental illness and making it look like a trait or stuff like that (You get the idea).
I feel a better origin story for the Dark Impulses would be that the Impulses originated from Mikey from the 1st timeline where he had the accident and the impulses emerged from all his dreams/ambitions that he could never achieve since he was gonna die, and they seeped through all the mikeys in the all the different timelines.
The ending works way better, if you imagine the latest chapter to be a last vision before he dies, making it even more tragic because of what could have been. So for me, Takemichi died but saved mikey from the dark impulses and had this last thought of traveling all the way back with mikey as he peacefully died
If you imagine it that way is incomplete since then Mikey gains powers and guess what? He wouldn't let takemichi die so we go back in a circle

This final arc was a fever dream man. I think the downfall of the final arc really started with Drakens death and it was so controversial that it felt like the creator had no choice to do this retcon at the end. Like Shinichiro becoming a fucking god all of a sudden but still somehow gets packed up by Kazutora? Sanzu being a second time leaper was crazy considering most people though Kisaki was the timeleaper that takemitchi was having a ditto matchup against. Also Senju getting fucked so hard when she’s literally supposed to be a top player especially after that kuroko zone like thing where she has the glow pouring from her eyes. It’s sad how this series was rushed but I really believe that Tenjiku should have been the climax of the series. This happy ending isn’t bad but it’s just too complicated how they went through hoops and ladders just to say hey everyone’s a time leaper and now all those people you were sad and heartbroken about aren’t dead anymore.

Yeah, I do personally wish Ken Wakui-san just make the theory of Hanma being the time leaper come true or something. It's more fun and logical that way, after all, and would explain even better why Kisaki always wins against Takemichi in most of the previous timelines he's been in. Although, I do think it's just thanks to his intellect and planning skills that Kisaki was able to do that, but at the same time, part of me also thinks it would've been nice if it turns out Kisaki was, in fact, helped by a time leaper to achieve it this whole time, and that time leaper being Hanma. In fact, when I first saw the part with Takemichi and Kisaki's confrontation, where Kisaki ended up being hit by a truck, I thought when he said he had a feeling Takemichi's a time leaper, it could mean Kisaki just managed to guess it by judging Takemichi's suspicious behavior (Kind of like how Chifuyu had a feeling that Takemichi was one because of the latter telling Baji to not die during the Toman vs Valhalla fight as if Takemichi already knew what's gonna happen) or also because he happens to have Hanma, who's a time leaper himself (Had the theory been true).

i think one of my least favorite parts of the tokyo revengers ending was that one sentence of dialogue that takemitchy said when him and mikey time leaped where he goes "always fought this battle on my own , but now i have you" like man i was reading that going really takemitchy really we're just gonna pretend fucking chifuyu doesnt exist like chifuyu has been fighting with you aswell as draken and hina like mikey hasnt done shit takemitchy

I think the later part of the manga went well into showing the contrast between Takemitchy and Shinichero, which Shinichero fought to shelter his family compared to Takemitchy fighting for the sake of everyone never quitting till he found the solution he wanted he didn't kill or forsake anyone to get where he wanted.

Honestly the more I think about this ending the more it makes me think about Undead Unluck. Like there doing a very similar thing currently in the manga and yet it so much better in comparison! Talk about a timely example how to and not to do this concept.

The last chapter came out yesterday and it was the ending I hoped for. The final arc was rushed and messy and the final chapter doesn't change that. It'll be up to the anime to clean up the mess of a very good manga that stayed well past its time. It should've ended with the Tenjiku Arc. Despite that I have to say thank you Ken Wakui for this series.
I don’t like the “it was all a dream” endings. I don’t think anyone does. But I’m really hoping this is all a dream takemichi has as he’s dying. I seriously doubt it, but the last chapter is so different from the rest of the series in tone, that I just hope that’s the case. God damn man, what happened to this series.

Idk if I'm alone in this, but I feel like a Shinichiro side story, entailing his rise within the gang world would be a thrill to read! I feel like thats the only period of time Wakui has yet to seriously dive into. Plus, seeing the conflict between Wakasa and Benkei would be crazy!! While I'm not exactly a fan of the extremely rushed ending, I truly believe this manga was something special. And as controversial as Takemichi's character may be, he taught me the importance of standing up for your self worth. But overall, I really enjoyed Tokyo Revengers!

I agree with your words! I initially was really hyped for the series and didn't mind the time travel aspect. The story could've and argued should've ended with Mikey dying or being evil but it didn't. So the author had to keep going and made paradoxes. The explanation of the time powers was when it was over for me.

Sometimes, the ending to a manga doesn't reaaaaally matter because it really is all about the journey, but when it is so plot driven and redefines everything that has happened so far, it definitely can make or break a story. So for me Tokyo Revengers should just be forgotten now.

My read is the Dark Impulses are part of the curse on the time leaper; the hobo leaper's life is clearly shitty because taking the power the bad way cursed him too, Shinichiro's curse corrupted Mikey, who he cared for the most (and indirectly killed Izana and Emma too), and Kazutora, who ended up killing him. Shinichiro gifts the power selflessly to Takemichi, who gives it to Mikey creating a cycle of selflessness rather one of selfishness like the one started/continued by the hobo and Shinichiro, ending the curse since in Timeleaper Mikey's timeline he clearly doesn't have the DIs anymore

The ending was seemingly referenced when Takemitchi says to Chufuyu that he's going to save Baji even if he know how. It looks like the only way to save everyone was always to stay with Mikey,
every time Takemitchi goes back to the future Mikey is just destroyed, sometimes killing everyone, or murder-suiciding himself and Takemitchi. The "Time Leap" power seem to be transferred two ways, one by murdering someone with " Time Leap" powers or for someone to transfer their powers willingly. In the ending Takemitchi, while dying, goes to transfer his powers to Mikey at the same Mikey is holding Takemitchi's hands, which is Takemitchi needs to go back to the future, but because Takemitchi is doing and because of their wish to go back into the past to fix everything and get to be together they both go back. I honestly both love this ending and somehow foresaw this ending while daydreaming what might happen next.
(Though, at the end it felt like Takemitchi was more in love with Mikey than he was in love Hina, which confused the duck out of me. Still happy though!)
Regarding your last comment, I agree. Takemichi seemed to have more feelings for Mikey in the second part and vise versa. I am not a big shipper, but the way these characters are written I don't doubt that ship is strong.

I think Tokyo revengers is very good until the last 5 or 6 chapters where it completely face plants. I think the author wrote himself into a corner and didn’t know how to get out of it so he just ended up undoing everything, so everyone could get a happy ending.
I already had my ending in my head. It's simply he acknowledges that he can't save Mikey instead he saves his memory like he is last seen Riding Mikey's motorcycle down Tokyo Road with his woman on his back and we see the images of Mikey his sister Emma and all the people he couldn't save in the sky as if they're watching him smiling and also does a bit of a summary where chifuyu becomes a Godfather to his kids and he names his kids Emma Mikey after those he couldn't saved my ending is he saves their memory basically he carries their Legend on.
Still remember people hyping this up as the best new gen 💀 truly the manga of all time

Glad I never wasted my time on this series. This is why I wait a few years to get into a new series instead of jumping on the hype train.
I still remember the comment I made on the 1st video you made about Tokyo Revengers, I commented on how the story fell off so hard FOR ME after the revelation of Kisaki's motives and I got lots of replies that defended the story💀and calling me dumb, that's aight tho atleast I get to sleep soundly at night knowing that I didn't defend this trainwreck of show.
I liked the ending, but the double time leap was done very fast. I'd have preferred like 3 or 4 chapters with the two of them trying to save everyone and that being explained. But not a long thing, just like a narration explaining how they did it and how the bad guys, like Kisaki and Hanma specially, joined Toman and didn't do evil things.

The major problem for me is that the new timeline isn't even explicated, some ennemies became allies and we don't even know why, plus that doesn't really make sense for their character. Even more with the fact that the two time leaped before the whole Shinichiro's death that came straight out of fanfic and could have been done ages ago with some reflection. I'm pretty sure Takemichi could have time leaped with Kazutora because of his guilt, he could have been a good trigger. I liked the idea of karma introduced with Shinichiro's flachback and that you have to pay for what you've done but again the time leaping thing ruined it for me. Shinichiro shouldn't have been saved from all people (you can see I'm not a big fan of the guy, too compared to our hero, too much idolized that I became sick of him, people simped for him even when they didn't know him at all just bit and pieces here and there and the constant reminder that he was a ripoff Takemichi).
The problem was that he never gave the time travel powers any real rules or anything, allowing him to really pull anything he wants like being able to see a min into the future randomly when he was with Senju or the fact that mikey and takemitchy both time travelled. I had a feeling this is where it was heading when they killed Draken off so easily, I knew they wouldn't kill a character like that in the most punk way and leave it like that, with a show about time travel no way he stays dead like that and I was right. Is what it is with story, whatever happens next week it was a good ride regardless.
To be completely honest I've been enjoying this arc for the most part. I do find this ending really rushed though. I'm personally hoping when the anime adapts this arc we can maybe get an anime original ending where Takemichi and Mikey fight where they hung out after the Christmas battle. I can just see Takemichi punching Mikey and then Mikey just dicides to stay on the ground and say he won.
So I have nothing to back any of this up but let me take a crack at breaking down what I think happened:
The time leap power can be passed 2 ways: by actively giving it to a new user (Shinichiro to Takemitchy)
Or by killing and taking it from the previous user(Hobo to Shinichiro)
It’s also important to remember that a time leap can be caused not only by the trigger of a handshake but through the one who holds the power of the leaper to die.
It’s important to keep both these in mind because when Mikey ran Takemitchy through with the sword he was the trigger for the timeleaps for this arc. Thus as Takemitchy was passing on, their hands came together and Mikey I think in that moment both took on the power of the time leaper, both his and Takemitchy’s desires of wanting a better future resulting in Mikey being sent to the past, while simultaneously triggering Takemitchy’s own time leap ability and sending him into the past as well. Thus either with them both being timeleapers, or perhaps because they are both happy with the outcome they have finally reached they are no longer able to time leap and thus the curse is essentially broken.
This is just me spit balling based off the rules established as we know them

The problem I have is that the author has fundamentally messed with how he’s established the power worked in order to serve the story’s happy ending. Instead of being about how you can’t change the past and how you just have to let some things go in order to better the life you currently have, by showing that no matter what, Mikey can’t be saved, author says screw that and fumbles the bag so hard. Granted I like a happy ending but this type of story should’ve ended with a bittersweet somber ending.

When Takamichi revealed his final Revenger form, I felt that
BRO THE ENDING I CAN'T ANYMORE, FUCKING KISAKI JUST DOESN'T CARE HE JUST ACCEPTS THAT HINA MARRIES TAKEMITCHY. 200 CHAPTERS BUILT UP DEAD FOR 0 REASON
When Takemichi decided to basically give a middle finger to everyone to chase after Mikey in Bonten for the stupidest reason possible (giving wedding invitation to wanted crime boss for cop's sisters' wedding) it was the first time my Tokyo Revengers blind love goggles were taken off. (Warning: Spoilers belov for THE FINAL chapter that hasn't been released yet, but I saw full spoilers on it)
Then when time leap happened and all of the work so far (everyone's happiness) got undone by it was when it started stinking to me even more, but at the same time I still didn't abandon the ship fully because I still had faith in this series so I kept thinking that author surely will know what the hell is he doing and why he is doing it... until Draken died for no reason. Like literally no reason at all since the only reason why he died was to make sure Senju lives in this timeline, and Senju didn't DO SHIT THIS ARC! Despite EVEN THAT the other side of my mind kept thinking that there must be reason for this, right? Everything will start making sense by the end, right? I'm just jumping at the gun too early, RIGHT? Nope. Instead I get slapped with edgy impulses bullshit that invalidates not only Mikey's character, but the character of everyone around him since everything bad seems to be thanks to this stupid ass curse caused by some random hobo. How does that get solved? By Takemichi getting stabbed, hugging Mikey and telling him he is his friend which makes Mikey cry and they both assleap even further in the past and then magically fix every problem that exists no matter how little sense it bloody makes. Like Inupi no longer having scar. Did removal of "shitty writing impulses" remove fire accident or what? Why are him and Koko still in BD when none of them no longer has the motive to create such gang with Taiju? Speaking of Taiju, what happened to his abusive impulses there? Did they talk-no-jutsu those out of him, or did they simply vanish with the removel of curse as well? WHY THE HELL DOES TENJIKU EXIST ESPECIALLY IN THIS TIMELINE? The only reason why they existed back then was due to Kisaki manipulating hobo Izana into making that gang. So what the hell are they doing in this timeline when Kisaki is no longer Kisaki? It's dumb as hell. Then you got upcoming chapter (SPOILER) that has good South. Like what!?!?!? This whole's man character was that he loves violence because he does! How the hell is he "pals" with Mickey Mouse crew? How is he not taking over Tokyo again? How is he not-South? Did Mickey and Goofy fly to Brasil to prevent South's tragic life, or did it magically got solved because no hobo curse so that means everything is fine now? Let us not even go into Hanma whose whole character was that he loved chaos and that is the reason why he bonded with Kisaki. Now Hanma apparently is ok with being with Disney's team and is still for some reason following Kisaki even though this is the most boring version of Kisaki (according to Hanma's definition of boring) that Hanma would never care to follow in other timelines.
Honestly, one of the worst ending if not the worst I personally saw. At least other garbage endings didn't go this far to invalidate their whole manga and characters to this degree, or in Prison School's case, that was author trying to screw over publishers who were screwing him so that's why the ending is the way it is. This on another hand? Wakui is claiming that he had ending planned all along since Vahalla? I just... I apologize to everyone who I may have recommended this manga at one point. That is all I have left to say.
Tbf I feel like a better ending would've been either Takemitchy sacrificing himself for the sake of all the others. A bit too generic? Yes, but it would've shown that despite his perfect ending being unachievable, he had still done his best and had managed to save most people this way, and most importantly, he'd saved Mikey and freed him from his dark impulses. It would've shown that despite losses being inevitable, it's up to you how you face them going forward
The ending was so disappointing with them travelling back in time again where everyone’s alive, and everyone got a happy ending and everyone became friends - it’s soo unrealistic. It felt like all the pain all the suffering and all the stories told throughout the manga was meaningless. The manga definitely should’ve ended when Mikey took everyone’s pain. This ending was so forced and unnatural, overall a huge disappointment.

im my opinion, you missed something. when he said he should have asked the hobo all along, its not that simple...the hobo says its a curse, the dark impulses are a product of time leaping, and the hobo himself was a product of the destruction the dark impulse caused the people he tried to save with him ability, which made him seclude himself as a hobo unwilling to give his powers to shin..which is still speculation that makes alot of sense, but yea post kisaki's death the manga dint go well, although the end was sorto heartwarming
Personally I have a mix feeling about the ending. Like the ending was kind of cliche for time travel story, like the whole the journey and character development wasted after Takemitchy and Mikey both travel back in time. Also I just kind of annoyed how Kisaki was pretty much forgiven now part of the gang when the new timeline reset. Also wish they explain how Kisaki knew Shinichrio was a timeleaper, not to mention wish they explore more of Sanzu side of the story. So I feel like the ending was bit rushed and kind of lazy writing since they never really explain where the time travel power even come from.
We rarely get a good endings in manga/anime. I think this manga was very refreshing in many ways. Even the ending. The characters deserved to be happy. People hate the ending because it felt like the story played with our emotions and it was all for nothing in the end. I do agree that it was very rushed, though.

There's one more chapter and I really hope Wakui does something mad with the story just to stick the middle up to everybody and leave it at that. Like for example "boom, a nuclear fallout happens and everyone's dead, the end." Maybe not THAT wild but I hope you get what I mean, meaby Takemichi actually died and this chapter was his final vision or something. I've loved this series for a pretty long time and still can't hate it, but this chapter felt silly, it felt like an unfinished and rushed fan-fic.
So the true Tokyo Revengers were the friends we made along the way.

Wasn't the only reason he does all this just cause he wanted her? Obviously he doesn't get her so how is his story resolved?

My guy he didn't have to kill anyone. That was an option. You didn't read it slowly. The homeless guy told him he could give him the power or he had to kill him for it. The homeless guy didn't want to give the power to Mike's older brother so he had no choice, but to kill him for it and the dark impulse was the curse for killing the homeless guy.
Tokyo revengers was a hit all the way until the halfway point of the final arc...
This ain't even uncommon among manga, a *lot* of manga I read had a similar issue where the finale is lacking in oomph.
