Electrical Power Load Diagram for 2000HP SCR Rig | Oil and Gas

In this video you will learn the electrical power load diagram for 2000 hp SCR rig. There are four caterpillar engine and five SCR (silicon control rectifier). From these SCR you can control mud pumps, rotary and draw works. And you also give power to TDS room from main generators and there is one step down transformer which convert 600vac into 400vac which are use for mcc (motor control cabinet). further there is one auxiliary engine which is also give power to mcc. but at a time you can use step down transformer or auxiliary engine.

There are four generator then how you use five SCR .is it not as it that every SCR is connected with one generator?

+AFTAB SHAFIQ four generators are connected to main bus bar as parrallel. Then main bus bar connected to different five scr cabinets.

Hi, assalam alaikum
I have one doubt on MCC POWER DIAGRAM. Generator H1 is 400vac 63A and using FLOOR 400vac 100A. And also MP is using always DC volt why not AC. Don't mind just have doubts 👏

May be,
Mud pump is operated by DC supply, with SCR starter and it's easy to control the rpm of motor. On some condition Mud pump is operated by AC supply, VFD starter will be there. On scr controller we can switch the rpm more then thousand times in just one second by using IGBT set's... it's very somth way to control way to control DC motors rpm, in low cost of power consumption.. 🔋
