  • In this video I cover how to bind a Futaba T3PV to a receiver (R203GF shown). I also cover how to chose the model number, how to name the model, and how to reverse steering and throttle on the transmitter.

    Note: No light on receiver (RX) means no power or dead RX.
    When powering on the ESC the LED on the RX should engage. If the ESC has power, but the RX does not do the following:
    -Check the ESC to RX connector and wires;
    -Check that ESC is connected to channel 2 in RX;
    -Check the RX pins that they are not bent or corroded.
    If this does not work, you need a new RX... more than likely.
    You can also try plugging in the RX to a different ESC just to see if it lights up.
    To save time, if you have a spare new RX, plug that one in just to make sure it is not the ESC. It is very unlikely that you may have gotten two new non-working RX in the same batch.
    But it is usually the RX that is faulty if it does not power when the ESC is engaged.

    Very informative. I have the same TX and RX . When I plugged my RX with the ESC, the LED light does not light at all. Does it mean my RX is a defective? What do you suggest I do? Thanks for the advice in advance.

      Thank you for your question. With a charged battery and the ESC is plugged into Ch.2 in the RX, the light on the RX should come on. If it does not, it is a dead RX assuming the esc is powering on. It is rare that the ESC to RX connector is damaged, but check just in case. Also, inspect the RX pins. If you happen to have another RX, plug that one in. If it works, then it is definitely the first RX.

    The issue is where I can’t pair the damn thing to my car, I have watched so many videos and still have no clue where I’m going wrong

      If the Rx is new and the Tx has binding space, it should just bind.
      If the Rx light does not engage, but the esc does... the Rx is probably bad.
      If the Rx light does engage and does not bind, make sure no other Tx is on other than the one you want to pair. Also, do not pair near a WiFi device. Let me know.

    i see you use Kobalt tools good luck getting your lifetime warrantee. like most lifetime warrantees the people get screwed. ridged is best at this game. they give lifetime when you go for replacement the replacement is 3 years. but the original purchase price was high so they could give the lifetime warrantee. these days best bet is buy cheep and throw away .

      I have never attempted to get a warranty exchange on Kobalt I bought them on price point. Craftsman was a 'no questions asked policy' on hand tools. At fist, a Lowe's rep. tried asking (interrogating) me about how a tool broke. This was a few years back. No longer. I guess Craftsman got word and set them straight. Driver I would not go cheap. They destroy too many screw. I do like MIP. They are more expensive, but, given the number or kits I have assembled, they are work it. But I hear you. Most tool brand are not my father's tools anymore.

      I was brought up on Snap-On tools as well as matco tools . they were the trucks that drive to your business no question ask policy then they started the same crap. just sayin how big business has changed. any how i just purchased your same Futaba for my wife gasser. Clicked on your channel just to see how well people liked it. good luck with your build. I just finish my electric trike build as pictured 200 volts 2000 amps then went to the state registered for the road . Street legal. hold on to your pants fast .

      MIP is far superior to Rigid for RC tools.
