- Here is the truth, and I just don’t understand why the fact checkers keep letting this garbage air on national news. It is wrong, and irresponsible.

I've warmed up every car I have ever had for 35+ years and never had a engine problem.
That talking head at Verify seems to be using his brain before it warmed up, voiding the warranty.
20 year plus auto technician here, how you gonna drive your car with the windows iced over? You gotta allow for warmup to clear your windshield of fog and ice, if your car is in a garage then no worries, start it and drive… it doesn’t matter either way. I find that the engine warms up faster driving than it does at idle. Police cars sometimes idle for 10 hours a day especially k9 cars and they have little to no extra problems due to idling. Lots of bs info out there so be careful what you listen to
This guy probably recommends throwing boiling water on your windows to assist in de-icing. ;)
@@MechanicalTriage AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! You spilled some. It rather hurt.
there is almost no need to warm up modern engines. The vehicles today dont need very long to heat up
pure facts. this was recommended to me and i love it
Thank you. I am working on another one for used cars and why the market still sucks.
Second 😆And I thought that was some stupid crap also
When you first start a car with an internal combustion, or gas driven engine, that's not been running for several hours there is very little oil in the engine. Most of it is in the oil pan at the bottom of the engine. When the engine is started the oil pump creates a vacuum that brings the oil from the oil pan up into the top of the engine. It is distributed to the parts of the engine that requires the oil to lubricate it so it can move and function. If the car is cold it takes longer to make the oil move to the engine parts. If it's cold the oil thickens up. It takes time for the oil to thin out and be moved though the system. So warming up the engine is necessary to get the oil flowing to help the engine operate. If the car is forced to run when while the engine is still cold and is not properly lubricated the internal part will be damaged and wear out quicker.
But, it won’t warm up if it’s not running either. 🤔
Just, what, I, what the actual fluff?
