Yay! Kings Island is my home park, so it was fun seeing a day at the park and impressions! Glad to hear the love for Diamondback, definitely agree it is the best ride in the park. Sorry you didn't get the nighttime ride of The Beast, it is worth the hype.
I agree with most of that lol.. But I still like Orion just a bit better than Diamondback.. They're both damn near flawless though.. it really is straining at gnats.
Even though it seems like maybe the ride is just a bit shorter, Orion just still feels like a more well rounded ride to me. Really couldn't even give you one solid reason why.. I think its mostly the first drop and that last little airtime pop.. I really love Orion.
I've grown up a Cedar Point fanboy my whole life but Kings Island continues to close in on my top spot. The atmosphere and pride that the park shows really draws you in. Add in 3 monster B&Ms and GCIs finest work and you have a park that not only is great, but continues to get better. There's something about the praise this place gets from the locals in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Louisville that has to drag you in as well.
"Kings Island is 11 hours away" *Laughs in Columbus, having CP, KI, and Kennywood all within 2.5-3hrs* In all seriousness, it was awesome running into you at Orion that night, and Sophie is just as adorable as ever
it really is the best park in America. I’m getting ready to work there over the summer for a summer job and i am really excited. I’ve been visiting the park since i was really little and i still love it. The job hiring process has been so nice recently and i’m really excited for my first season there
Love your videos. This one reminds me of taking my son to KI and riding all the rides with him for the first time. I'm a Cincinnati native and local and my son loved seeing your daughters reactions and commentary.

This has been my home park my whole life and I love it so much!! In fact this summer will be my first year working as a ride Op and I hope to bring the same energy that you've seen there sense these past few trips.
I had the same words when I went on pass preview day. I love that you would drive 11 hours to my home park. I wouldn’t do that for any park. Love the videos!
Sophie reviewing the coasters she rode for the day is amazing! It makes me happy to see future coaster enthusiasts and Father/Daughter bonding! You guys are awesome and great video!
Kings Island, is in my bucket list... I really really wanna go there. I might be a small coaster enthusiast, but I hope to get to Kings Island in the future. Also happy 50th birthday Kings Island!!!
Love this park!!! It’s one that I grew up with, love the atmosphere, the rides, the upkeep of the park but most important, the employees at Kings Island are second to none! They make the park and make the experience so much more enjoyable that you always look forward to returning to Kings Island, even after you’ve rode all the coasters multiple times over. Great video!
I was working at the Eiffel Tower when you and Sophie got on! I’m glad you guys had a fun day at the park and I really enjoyed your shots from the top of the tower!
I so vividly remember walking through the Paramount Story (currently Tower Gardens) and hearing "The Entertainer" blaring on the park speakers. That clip gave me a very warm, nostalgic feeling, thanks for adding that snippet.
Kings Island seems to be even better this year. Why all other Cedar Fair parks don't take pointers from the staff there is beyond me. Best park. Period.
Made my first trip of many for this season over the weekend, and I was doubly impressed at the efficiency of the operation. And also the friendliness of the ride crew. I commented about it to my buddy on Scrambler of all things - the ride op was having a great time making it fun for the kids. ^_^
Awesome! So fun seeing you guys enjoy my lifelong home park. I’ll be there Friday, and the Beast is now open, so I’m stoked to see how it feels after the re-track/profiling work.
Oh and I forgot to mention how excited I am to hear you’re making a new documentary. Is it exclusively about Kings Island? The Magic Mountain one was excellent.
Aww it looked like a great time with your family at Kings Island! Great Vlog, definitely my favorite videos. Fun to hear Sophie's reactions, she'll get orion someday!
0:51 what a view of 2 elite B&Ms! I love this park so much I’m really debating about making this my summer trip or getting some news credits at Kennywood. Probably can’t do both so I got a choice to make 🤔
You do such great work! Thank you so much for the video. My days riding coasters with my daughter are some of my favorite moments. We may need to take another trip over to Kings Island!
KI is my home park. My son and I loved seeing the reactions and commentary from you and your daughter in the video. Son loves roller coasters and your videos. He has watched them all and wants to start a channel for kids and coasters. You insipre him to make videos on my phone about coaster reviews and we love your videos and content. Best coaster channel on you tube! Keep it up and great work!
I actually rode it when it opened! First row, first train, first on the new re-track. It’s UNREAL. The only other ride I got off of smiling that big was Maverick. I wish I had gotten some pictures/video before riding. MAN is it awesome.
Hate to see you getting older, no worries I'm almost AARP. Your videos were always fantastic, watching u bring ur daughter into the coaster world puts a smile on my face. Of course, ur fashion options may be cruel and unusual punishment. Ehhh you all still awesome, keep up the good work.
I may agree. Long time cedar point pass holder visited KI first time mothers day weekend and I was amazed. Could possibly b my new #1 I'm also fortunate to be located close to both parks
Brother my home park and a fantastic video!! Perfection start to finish!! There’s nothing better than taking your kids to Kings Island. It’s clean, well run and the employees are all awesome. Love your content and can’t wait for the next. 🤙
Love this content, Sophie has more credits than me. You are the best coaster channel. You should def help soph set up her own channel in time. Love to see you enjoying time with your family and tell your wife not to be so shy!!! I enjoy every single video you make and you are always number one in my book!!!!! We love airtime thrills!
@@AirtimeThrills not bad at all. Amazing channel and family that you have Chris. I absolutely love everything you put out. Keep being you keep creating content and I definitely appreciate the response!
Just went for the first time yesterday and it's probably already my favorite park. Was super busy, but Fast Lane turns everything into a walk-on. Great collection of coasters, not a single bad ride in the park (except maybe Flying Ace Aerial Chase). Staff was very friendly, operations were great, etc. Several staff complimented my Fury shirt. Only bad part was the parking lot, which really needs a few more signs telling you where to go, but that's not bad when you consider all the shortcomings of places like Six Flags Over Georgia! Orion is basically short Fury but Fury is Fury and even half of Fury is incredible Diamondback is a B&M hyper. Enough said. Flight of Fear is shaky Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Good ride, but weirdly shaky. Mystic Timbers is longer Thunderhead/White Lightning, which makes it better. Also, memes aside, the Shed is a fun addition that would be more enjoyable if they didn't tease it with such mystery... The Beast is running great thanks to the retrack. It's very fast and out of control. Night ride is a must-do! The Racer is what I wish Scream Machine was: smooth and good airtime. Oh, and you race as well, which is fun. The Bat is way faster than I thought it'd be, but it's over very fast. Wish it were longer, but it's otherwise quite fun. Adventure Express is not as classic-feeling as mine trains like Dahlonega, but it's smoother and faster. Oh, and the "anticipation lift" is both disappointing and hilarious. Backlot Stunt Coaster is a great family coaster with a solid launch, theming, and that dark portion. Woodstock Express is a great kids woodie. Back row for a little airtime! Flying Ace Aerial Chase is the only bad coaster in the park. How is a kids ride rough? Invertigo is basically a better Boomerang. Pick very back for the best ride! If they could get vest restraints to eliminate the headbanging, that'd be awesome Banshee was super forceful and I liked it even more than expected, almost as much as Montu! Also, don't miss the creepy, charming Boo Blasters, or the elevator to the top of the tower.
Just hit Kings Island for the first time over Memorial Day Weekend and you weren't kidding, that park is incredible. And even before we got our Fast Lane bands, ride ops were fantastic. Park was slammed and Diamondback only took 20 minutes.
I used to go there all the time back in the late 90s early 2000s until I got older and moved away. I have such good memories of Kings Island. I loved seeing you enjoy it with your daughter. Once my sons are older we are definitely making a trip!
Just went there on sunday( memorial weekend), never had to wait over 15 minutes on line. Got to do all the rides I expected, had time to eat, relax and re ride diamondback ( also my favorite here).
Went to KI for the first time in 20 years last summer as I am starting to get back into coasters. And it will be the last park on this summer's 5-park road trip (all Cedar Fair parks). It is so much better now as a CF park! The ride collection is awesome, and as a former Cedar Point Ride op from 30 years ago, I was very impressed with the coaster ride ops, and made sure to tell KI that. This summer I'll get my first ever night ride on Beast!!! I feel so bad that you live in OK now - may parents live in the Lawton area and it's horrible, as well as a long long way from Michigan.
I gotta say it was a blast for you and your daughter Sophie going to Kings Island for it's 50th Birthday! By the way, didn't know you were classes at the beginning!
My home park! This was a fun video btw and I can't wait for your KI documentary. The park looks fantastic, we are in the golden years of Cedar Fair's ownership!
This was my home park for 20 years, so maybe some bias to the Beast, but there might be rides that can be deemed as better, but nothing can top that ride tearing through the woods at 12am during Haunt.
3:20 I went on that little coaster like 25 years ago. It is particularly responsible for getting me to like coasters, well that and the bestie/ Woodstock Express.
Happy Anniversary Kings Island!! Love this place and went on passholders Preview day, weather was perfect and the staff as always was phenomenal. Nice video as well. And btw, Cedar Point DIDN'T HAVE a Passholders Preview day, or anything for that matter. Kings Island is a waaaaay better park, and I'm 3 hours away from Kings Island and 1 from Cedar Point. Love you, Kings Island!!!!!
Cedar Point still holds the top spot for me (it kind of has to, being my home park LOL) but KI is a close second. Such a great atmosphere and great coasters to go along with it.
Wow dejavu on your road trip north as I just came from my very first visit to Silver Dollar City. Crappy weather while I was there but was able to marathon Outlaw Run, Powder keg and Time travler. Great vlog.
11 hour drive, you're quite dedicated. I do love Kings Island. Sooo much better than that other Ohio park - Cedar Point. I'll be at the park next week for Coasterstock. Just a great event!
You know the cool thing about living in Cincinnati? It's only 20 minutes away. 🤣 I'm too bad you didn't know about the Beast. It has been all over the news around here. It officially reopened on May 8th. Although we were all kind of hoping it wouldn't actually open until May 13th
so dude, this video hit different. reminded me of golden age of dvd coaster vids. The rest of the vids slap even when I smoke and disagree in a similar phrasing. officially subscribed. kings island is legit whole package.
Thanks man! I pass it every day to and from work but the wonder of it never escapes my 14 yr old son or I. Always have season passes. 👍 So glad you feel it's the best!
I've been obsessed with CP since I was a kid...it was the mecca of parks. It still is the mecca for coasters but KI has won me over. They top CP by a LONG shot in terms of park experience...and I can't figure out how they do it when they are under the exact same management. I went to CP on my bday morning and then KI later that day. I got a happy birthday from CP...but got a happy birthday, a pin, and free ice cream at KI. Just a little example of how this park focuses on the little things that can make your day. You're absolutely right about this being the best park in the country.
You love to see a family having fun, while being credit fiends. Sophie officially has twice as much as me, which is impressive since I didn’t start riding coasters until I was 11.
Great video! Definitely love spending time at Kings Island for the 50th Anniversary Birthday Bash over a week ago....despite the fact that I got everything related to the 50th Anniversary which consists of my new Kings Island's 50th Anniversary gold all season bottle (similar to Cedar Point's 150 Years), King Crown hat with Eiffel Tower, program guide/map featuring 11 rides in gold, schedule card & finally my Kings Island 50th Anniversary Birthday button....which was all I got on April 29th....during my first day of the season. I just put my 50th Anniversary Birthday button on my Orion lanyard.
I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, some 40 minutes from Kings Island- and this place is absolutely my favorite place on Earth! I loved it thru the Paramount years and love it just as much now in the Cedar Fair years. Nothing but a bright future for Kings Island!!
Looks fun! Superman at sfne is a great night ride as well. My youngest is 6 so and might be a little coaster partner in waiting! Wish I had a reason to get to kings island looks like an outstanding park
The Beast retracking is amazing! I forget how spoiled I am living 10 minutes away. I been trying to ask on your video but Buy or Sell: KI gets a water coaster before their next rollercoaster?
I can’t believe I missed you cuz I was there that day (probably because I’m not on social media and with small children) so I hope to meet you one day this season just to thank you for your content
When I went earlier this year, I got 5 new credits, all of which changed my rankings: Diamondback, Orion, Banshee, Mystic Timbers and Backlot Stunt Coaster. Despite only riding it once, Diamondback unseated my previous #1 coaster, Flight of Fear (which fell to #4). And yes, I admit that I haven’t ridden a lot of coasters, but when you go 18 years and about 170 lbs of weight loss to get there, you get a lot of anticipation. Kings Island is still my favorite park.
Small world. I’m from Indy and used to go to King’s Island every summer. I was station on Ft. Sill years ago. Now I live in Cali but will definitely make the trip to KI to celebrate 50 years of fun.
I know everyone talks about cedar point as the place to go, but I will just say I spent 2 days at CP with fast lane plus and 1 day at kings Island with fast pass plus. I will definitely say CP has the better overall lineup, but I had more fun at KI. So much more value and the staff and atmosphere is definitely top 5 in the country. The overall experience here makes up for any lack of elite level coasters.
I really miss kings island. Hope to be there this summer to ride all the rides I haven’t gotten to ride since moving to Texas in 2010. As much as I like that I’m not far from fiesta Texas and the soon to be coasters at cotaland, nothing comes close to kings island
I love Kings Island so much. I am so happy it is my home park. I only wish that it would get a coaster or ride in the place of vortex, then the park will be almost perfect!
Kings Island is my number 2 park just behind Hersheypark. It may not have an answer to Steel Vengeance, but everything Kings Island does, they do exceptional.
We may not have agreed on much, but your love for Banshee makes me happy. That coaster gets way too much hate. It’s my favorite invert so far, at least until I get to Florida

I was at Kings Island yesterday and great pumpkin coaster was closed because it valleyed the day before lmao
Yo sure early catch on my favourite UA-cam channel, love the stuff man keep it up
Really fun vlog. Can’t wait to visit there for the first time next month!
I love this theme park. Haven’t been in 3 years. I hope to go this summer.
Love your videos so much and am always excited to see your new content!! What do you do with Amy while you ride coasters??
She stays with my wife. There are a few people behind the scenes that make everything work out
Great video!
So happy y'all had a great time! I'm stuck in Oregon so thanks for the vlog!
Looks fun! Superman at sfne is a great night ride as well. My youngest is 6 so and might be a little coaster partner in waiting! Wish I had a reason to get to kings island looks like an outstanding park
The Beast retracking is amazing! I forget how spoiled I am living 10 minutes away.
I been trying to ask on your video but
Buy or Sell: KI gets a water coaster before their next rollercoaster?
Happy to see your amazing family, hope you all had an amazing time. Thanks for the incredible content!!
I can’t believe I missed you cuz I was there that day (probably because I’m not on social media and with small children) so I hope to meet you one day this season just to thank you for your content
I get to operate woodstock express, great to see some love for it.
We rode Racer opening weekend several times and I don’t think I was ever actually on the seat aside from the lift hill 😂
Looks like a fun time! I'll be making my first trip ever to KI on June 12, very excited =)
Will definitely have to rewatch. Me and my oldest daughter were there the 2nd day. See if we made the footage lol.
I'm glad you came to Kings Island. It's my home park and I love it. I love Diamondback also.
Is that 11 hours total or 11 hours of driving plus stops? Lagoon is about a 10 hour trek plus stops for me, dying to get over there!
Yesssss respect the racer air time, legit wild
Kings Island is my number 2 park just behind Hersheypark. It may not have an answer to Steel Vengeance, but everything Kings Island does, they do exceptional.
We may not have agreed on much, but your love for Banshee makes me happy. That coaster gets way too much hate. It’s my favorite invert so far, at least until I get to Florida
