I grew up in Aquia Harbour back in the 70`s we were the 30 something family that built in there. Lived on Spain drive when there was only 2 houses there. Had alot of fun at the rec center which was across the sreet from us and had alot of fun down at the Pool and clubhouse.
@@AskAWalker Probably will be a long-winded answer, so I apologize but I'll give my list of pro's/cons: Pros: 1) It feels removed from the hustle of NoVa; a little slower paced which we like 2) Prices of homes (at least when we bought) were far more attractive than anywhere surrounding it. 3) While the HOA fee's are high, they offer a lot. Parks, Marina, Golf Course, Horse Stable, Dog Park, Police force, Fire Company, etc. 4) Overall, its a pretty close-knit community. People help each other out when they need it. 5) Its a community built on the water (Im a big fisherman) Cons: 1) Leaving the neighborhood on the weekends can be a nightmare (it all intersects with Rt1 and 95 on/off ramps). If you need to run errands, do it early) 2) There are no sidewalks/streetlights on the roads, so walking the dog or walking with the kids can be a bit tough (people are good about being mindful of pedestrians though) 3) Its advertised as a gated community. Its really not. Im sure there are things I could add to each list but that's what comes to mind immediately. My wife's and I's commutes arent super great, but not terrible either (I work in Fairfax and she's in Woodbridge) so depending on your own personal situation that could be a con, or a could be a pro.
It's true that this community isn't for everyone. But my family live a very quiet life in the back (13 minutes from the gate) surrounded by trees, eagles, owls, snakes, bears, deer, and raccoon. The wilderness of AH is amazing, and the commute is worth it for the peaceful lifestyle. Our Harbour events from Oktoberfest to the 4th of July are in-harbour and we, other than necessities, never need to leave the community for a fun night out. It's a wonderful place and well worth it.
you didn’t mention that Aquia Harbor gas it’s own police and fire. you i’ll get a ticket- they are big on that. the HOA cost is around $1,100 no street lights, no sidewalks….
@@AskAWalker The HOA is a joke, they can enforce issues with your property, lets say an culvert pipe needing repair, but they will not help with nuisance neighbors. Especially dogs barking etc. The quality of people currently living here is not what you would think for a gated community.
@@Va.Residentthis is the second time I heard concerns with culvert pipes needing repair. I feel compelled to inquire on the home we are interested in. Any recommendations on other things to inquire about for someone looking to offer on a home in AH? TIA
@etc3rd yes, it is hilly in this region. For example, if you have a steep driveway there is the potential that the soil can shift. We had a collapsed culvert pipe and the main waste line that goes under our driveway and connects to the city both needed repair. If the property you are looking at is level, then you may not have an issue.
You are not being truthful. I live in Aqua Harbour and I am only about 10 minutes from Quantico. As far as the commuter service we have van pool which I have used for five years.
You stayed in Section 1, you didn't even go through 2 and 3. You didnt mention Aquia properly. What? No!! Aquia Harbour is a beautiful place! This video doesnt do it justice. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. These videos always have room for improvement. Feel free to create a better version and I'll be sure to watch. Have a great day! Onward, AW
Let me get this straight. A real estate agent with one of the largest real estate channels in our market is spreading lies about an area he researched before creating the video? Based on the style of videos we create, it's not likely that we're wrong about information that can be easily confirmed with a simple Google search. Here's an idea. Start a competing UA-cam channel and share your "accurate" perspective. I look forward to watching your videos. Onward, AW
@@AskAWalker Abraham, ignore the haters. I've lived in Stafford for 35 years and have sold real estate from Arlington through Richmond and Kilmarnock to the Shenandoah (and every place in between) for the last 21 years. Your video gave a very accurate description of the market and no one expected you to drive through all sections of Aquia Harbour for this video! At least I didn't! Great job!

Not A single movie theater in Stafford county
there actually was a movie theater here in stafford but a while ago they destroyed it, it also wasn’t very good anyway
Our home cost less than 250k. You are spreading lies.
