"They were already starting to dip their toes into diabolism with the lawyers of the family studying infernal law" Of course it was the lawyers! Lol. But seriously, thank you for making this. My dnd group is planning on running Hell's Vengance and this helps a lot with world building.
Man, so glad you made this! I looked up pathfinder lore a while back and couldn't find much. What I could was really meh. This was exactly the kind of lore I've been wishing for!!! Now, if I can find something this detailed about oracles of the dark tapestry I'll be set.
@@mordredoforkney6185 I could definitely see that. I'd just really love to see lore on the parts that feel more unique when compared to things like d&d. The countries and factions feel so rich but finding decent lore out-of-book is a challenge. Likely for the reason you mentioned ofc.
It's very difficult to spread that info outside of a dry lore book, especially since pathfinder isn't popular enough to get a ton of spin off media. That said, the 2 CRPGs and the comics are a good place to start if you want to take in the setting without having to study for it.
You skipped over one of the biggest reasons people were okay with Asmodeus, he's one of the most accepted evil gods in Avistan, mainly because he tends to at least pretend to play nice with the majority-worshiped pantheon
Yeah. For example of the Hellknight Orders, the Order of the Godclaw also worships the most lawful and warlike aspects of Iomedae, Irori, Abadar, and Torag along with Asmodeus.
Even Asmodeus will "play nice" with the other deities when a multiverse threat arises, looking at you Rovagug. I should also point out that Dispater veneration is often allowed by non-evil nations, as he is one of the most prominant patrons of marriages. He's very Hades-esque.

Awesome. I'm currently running Hells Vengeance at the moment, and this is a good refresher to save me from throwing my face into the sourcebooks every other week.

I think I mentioned this before on a prior video of yours, but I feel like it still fits in this one too. I'm actually playing a Hellknight in a game I'm in (or will be, and he'll be of the Torrent, which is perhaps the most good-oriented Hellknight faction), and I do enjoy learning more about the nation of Cheliax from where he is born, though he was born and grew up in Kintargo, which is at least somewhat distant from the capital and the Thrune's.

First of all, your speech is awesome( remind me for some reason of one character from Mistborn,Wayne if you know). 2nd thanks a lot, this is super useful and in short time. Also great maps-they help a lot.
I thought that slavery was commonplace in Cheliax even before Thrune took over; it is also quite common in other parts of Golarion (including most or all of northern Garund), although undoubtedly House Thrune made it even worse. In addition, a descent into Diabolism was probably well under way before then, and we know that Hellknights also got their start well before then.
Yeah, that's talked about in the Races episode that covers halflings, though they're the only one famous for it now. Hellknights are old too, but they are not diabolists.
@@VentureCaptains I know that Hellknights aren't (usually) Diabolists, but they are somewhat related. Diabolists worship Hell and serve it willingly, whereas Hellknights want to out-Hell Hell and make it serve them when they do anything with it at all. Asmodeus can be pleased with both, even when they compete with each other.
Once again, I loved the work you've put into this video! Great job! And you've covered most of my favorite countries now (Cheliax, Nidal, Ustalav and Geb)! Those political comments were spot on too! I laughed SOOOO hard! keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see what you cover next!!!

Hey, are their any good videos concerning any slave trade in Golarion? I'm trying to flesh out a freed slave backstory and can't find any good information concerning this in any culture analysis. Maybe an escaped slave, I'm not sure yet. Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction?
No videos that I know of. There's only like 2 channels that tackle Pathfinder lore. I can recommends some books and regions though. The main regions known for slave trade are: Katapesh [Black Markets], Cheliax (Halflings) [See bibliography on this video], Kaer Maga [City of Strangers], Nidal [Nidal, Land of Shadows], Qadira [Jewel of the East] and Absalom (Pre Tyrant's Grasp) [Guide to Absalom].

We do have a private discord that existed long before we started lorefinder, but it's just for organising games between friends. thank you for the offer.
Dang, that's just pure evil. The people of Cheliax having no freewill is messed up. I wonder when we could expect another deity to decide that he or she wants to purge the nation of devil worship. Not a Pathfinder player yet, but imagine a lawful good or chaotic good deity deciding to outright destroy Cheliax and rebuild it so he or she could rule as a god king/ goddess queen.
Followers of Iomedae actually tried to do just that in the Hell's Vengeance adventure path. Unfortunately, that was a campaign for evil PCs, so it didn't work out for them.
If you're asking if we plan to cover the events of an adventure path, I can't say for certain we never will but it's unlikely. They can vary a lot depending on the players' actions and we want to avoid giving spoilers. Generally speaking, the aim of these videos is to provide background information that would help people to run said adventure and make their characters.
Pretty good, but I don't think abrogail is a true believer of asmodeus at all. In fact, it's actually quite the opposite which makes sense hell is quite misogynistic. Both house thrune and hell seem to believe that they are the ones actually in charge of cheliax.
@Venture-Captains Would you be up to make a pathfinder lore discord for your community? I would be quite willing to help manage it if you're into the idea. Overall I would like to help in the research of these videos so we can have more content like this out in the world.
