The online instructions indicate that you don't screw in the dipstick when measuring the oil level. I'm not sure what the correct answer is for this. Mine also has the same markings all the way up and down on the stick. Not clear at all. I just guessed.
I would start with adding the recommended amount so you know it has the oil it needs. When checking you can do both screwing it in or not and the oil has a range of an acceptable limit, so as long as it’s in that range, it should operate properly
I don’t recall any additional break in needed other than ensuring it has oil and proper fuel. I would recommend fuel that does NOT have ethanol so it won’t gum up the system when not in use
I realize not everyone has tools but the box load, but use a socket set. If you can afford to own a new GM truck and buy a pressure washer, get some tools. Oil climbs the dipstick when hot and this means to test the oil level hot or cold on level surface. Full is best but this is the same thing on your truck with the cross-hatch marks. Not very confusing as the have text, photo and customer service number in the book. With all major purchases, I take a photo of the model number and serial. Print this out, place it in the bag (Unless Destroyed) them use a zip bag and store it in a file cabinet along with the refrigerator, garbage disposal, generator, etc. Go online to register the unit and make a copy of the receipt. For decades receipt are on thermal-print paper. Meaning if left in bright sunlight or hot lactation, the print will fade fast. If you have utilities, cable, insurance, etc., store these in a file cabinet. Community Colleges, Going out of business or auctions are a great way to buy quality products for very little money so but office furniture, filing cabinet and printer desk with drawers for staples, glue and other don't have to match, just work. Spray paint before bringing into the office. Use a paper calendar to due a budget on, marking changes to income or outgoing bills like Dr's. Kids get sick, then they need teeth work. Aunt Thelma passed and is nice to remind others each year during this time. Also, having photos or a product that is stolen, damaged during fire, tornadoes or floods is easy to burn a thumb drive to hand to insurance agent or police or both. Keep that ability alive using an external drive, thumb drive with a date code that can be updated or a CD ROM if you have the equipment. Pictures in general with remind you of things you forgot you had, much like replacement parts. Take the brand, model and get the manufactures part number. Check a couple of places to find two or more that match. But search that number & description on eBay as companies go out of business, a salvage company will list it for less than half the price "New in Open Box" even with shipping shown one on hand. I just got one. The pressure kicks on. Then off. Then on. Then off. My hose filled a 5 gallon bucket in under a minute. Any idea why it does that?
It doesn't like the harbor freight tips. The stock tips it works fine. Odd

Is it very loud? I do work in retirement villages and can't make to much noise early morning but need something with good pressure

Still works great. I try to run fuel without any ethanol so it doesn’t get gummed up sitting
