    For those of us who are fans of The Great Stone Face, it's a phenomenal treat to hear vocals from him. I had read he had a fine bass-baritone voice, but this is the first time I've heard it. He scats a fine bass line, by golly!

      When he and Keaton appeared together, you can see how much fun they're having.

    This Is Great!
    I'm middle-aged,
    and I can appreciate this!
    Where do younger people
    think it Starts from?
    Everything has a Beginning?!
    This is Awesome!

    Intro:
    Maybe it's for the best [Elmer] to part
    That you met a girl by chance;
    You'll never really guess her heart.
    At the height of your romance,
    But something in the air
    Tells me that she don't care.
    Chorus:
    You're staying away,
    You never did that before,
    You're dodging me every day
    No, you never did that before.
    You left me a note,
    You put it beneath my door,
    I've gotta go away, you wrote
    No, you never did that before.
    Please if you're through, then say you're through
    Forget me if you choose to;
    But if you're not, then say you're not,
    And hold me like you used to.
    What must be will be,
    And so there is hope in store.
    You want to come back to me
    'Cause, you never did that before.

      Both Cliff Edwards and Buster Keaton eventually faded out of the public eye. Cliff Edwards was destitute, when he passed away at age 76 years old in 1971.
