    I bought a whole bunch of eyelash/fuzzy yarn from someone before I realized how difficult it was to work with (no wonder she was selling it! lol). I decided I was going to try to finally use it .. your video is very helpful! Thank you. I had always tried to just use the fuzzy yarn before and failed miserably each time. Fingers crossed I can actually do this!

      As a followup, I found working "inside out" difficult, especially when decreasing/closing the body. But that is a separate issue from working with the eyelash yarn .. your method works well for that, but I may only use it on other items rather than amigurumi. Thanks again.

    I'm going to try this on my next project. My work around for fuzzy yarn is to crochet the project first with smooth yarn in BLO and the go back and slst the fuzzy in the front loops. But this could save me essentially doing it twice. Thanks for the tutorial!

      I’ve seen the back loop method and it looks really really good!! But it does mean you’re essentially doing it twice lol. I imagine if you were using a longer length of fur, you could skip a row or two while going back over it? Definitely not an option with short furs though. Happy crocheting!

    I got some 2nd hand yarn bags and a very thin fuzzy yarnd was there, it felt nice and soft, but so for it's a nightmare to work with cause you can't see the stitches, this is such a smart idea. I want to make a scarf though. haha

    • @magdalenamathilda5476
      @magdalenamathilda5476  8 місяців тому

      You can definitely use this technique with any project. Either make it noticeable by using a contrasting yarn or match it up with the fuzzy yarn. You’ll be able to grab that fuzzy yarn so much better when you double it with something else. Have fun working on your scarf ✌🏻

    Ok I carried my faux fur yarn with my working yarn and my working yarn covered the fur. Not furry. Do I have to pick out the fur?

  • @makeba133
    @makeba133 Рік тому

    This the same thing I do. But I double the furry yarn. It’s a little harder to see but doable

    Do you have any advice for a project that’s double sided, not in the round? I’m using fur and considering just crocheting with it wet at this point 😩

    • @magdalenamathilda5476
      @magdalenamathilda5476  8 місяців тому

      Haha I had never considered trying with wet yarn before. But you can still use the same method of carrying your fur with another yarn. Just account for thickness of your overall project when choosing the carrying yarn. You could do a contrasting color or similar color, the process is the same as in the round.
      Another option but it doubles your work time: crochet in the back loop only of your project using a worsted weight or whatever weight yarn you need, then go back and crochet the fur onto the front loop of each stitch that you previously did. You can do that for both “right side” and “wrong side” of the project.
      I hope that makes sense! 😊

    OMG I'm stressing working on a fluffy cat and I could not get my brain around using eyelash yarn. This is a lightbulb moment!! Thank you so much!

    Do you skip stitches when using the fuzzy yarn as you did in the video? or use it with EVERY stitch?

      It looks like she's working over the fuzzy yarn in every stitch.

    Silly question..faux fur can be used in place of regular yarn when making a stuffy? Just carry the fur along? Any ideas on working with black fur?

      Tell me about it. That’s why I’m here watching this video. I’ve worked with allot of colors, Im onto black now ( bc of course my last blanket left for my four children, my daughter would choose black lol) I may try this just to get it over with bc she is leaving soon lol… 😂😮

    Can you just use pipsqueak to crochet with?

    • @magdalenamathilda5476
      @magdalenamathilda5476  4 роки тому +1

      Do you mean just the pipsqueak alone? I have tried and didn’t get anywhere but a giant lump of yarn lol. This method of using both yarns works much better for me.

    I ended up carrying it every other stitch. I had a hard time seeing the fur because it covered it as i was carrying it.

    Can you do this and still change color 😪

    • @magdalenamathilda5476
      @magdalenamathilda5476  Рік тому +1

      Sure you can! Just carry your other color along the inside same as you do with the thinner strand you are using along with the fur. You color change same way you would usually do, carrying all of your yarns together if it’s a short color change, or dropping one of them and picking up when you get back around to it. The only issue would be whether or not that color was very noticeable under your fur. I don’t see it being a problem though if you’re also changing the color of the fur along with it.

      @@magdalenamathilda5476 arrgghhh I think I'll just stitch the fur on the outside because it is the spawn of satan!!!!

    • @magdalenamathilda5476
      @magdalenamathilda5476  Рік тому +2

      @@1sheilajanae lol I totally get that! If you do your whole project working in the BACK loop only, you can then easily go back around each piece and sc the fur into the FRONT loop. Good luck! I agree, fur yarn is the worst lol
