Star Apple May 2024

The star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) is a tropical fruit that is native to Central America and the West Indies. It is also known as the caimito, and is named for its star-shaped core. The fruit is sweet and jelly-like, and some say it tastes like applesauce with hints of tropical fruit and grape. It is often served chilled as a fresh dessert fruit.
