I love this amp. I must admit, since I got mine, I had a few wiring problems with it but since then I had everything re-soldered. It's been amazing.
Took me a little while getting my tone right but with a little time, it suddenly becomes everything you want in an amp + my effects units.
Brilliant amp, fantastic video and talented player. Get this amp! :-)
I bought an Ironheart head just because of this video. Today, one year later I still listening this amazing song!
Are you happy with the amp? I'm thinking about getting one too.
I'm fairly certain he could plug into the 10 watt starter amp i got 15 years ago and make it sound epic.
Indeed. The man makes the sound
This amp sounds god like.
My favorite amp review of all time. Plus one of my fav songs! Its just amazing!
this is one of my favorite songs. Listened to this about 7 times today
I love his playing style....It feels fresh and new.
Makes me want this amp even more.
Never geting bored watching your vids Keith
My favorite Kieth Merrow track. Sounds amazing through the Laney.
The freaking Melody after the introduction has been haunting me ever since I first heard it three months ago. I ran across this video again today. I haven't played in forever. I spent some time figuring out the tuning. I don't have a 7 seven string so I tuned down one of my sixes. I worked on it and sort of got it figured out. Thanks Keith, I haven't had so much fun playing in a long time. Damn, I need to pick me up a seven string.
i've been waiting my whole life for this moment.
Finally a video on utube that shows what this beast is really capable of. proud to own of these.
These sound awesome. Used a kids Ironheart as backline a few years back and I sold my then amp next day haha
Laney seems to be so underrated! I'm using the Ironheart IRT Studio. Its such a versatile and well equipped Amp. You don't need anything more for Homerecording. Everything built in: 3 Channels, Boost, Loadbox, Direct Out and all tube 15W and 1W Option... OMG!
Yeah, I totally listen to this song all the time, I absolutely love it!
This is sheer Genius man.. Not just talent earns you respect but the Knowledge man...! Really Living Inspiration to all budding musicians.. :).. cheers Keith ..
my favorite song so far! great work!
Wow, this amp sounds perfect!
That low end is absolutely beautiful
I've had this song stuck in my head for days. But kick-ass video, and that amp is sweet.
I think it sounds better through this ironheart than the actual amp you used on the original track
The Arrival is epic man...
tuck234 it is art it is prophecy
I think he used the Pod X3 on the original.
Hell yeah, I've always wanted to see Keith playing some wicked bass
That beggining riff is jaw dropping.
sounds wicked... I'm getting the 1watt/15watt version
i've came here to check out the amp and this is the 20th time i have watched this because the the epic tune!!! well done sir well done you have grabbed my attention XD
beautiful soul in the playing... I have a mesa duel rectifier road king 2 and love it but still want one of of these laneys... super tight... killswitch engage has been using them and they say they love them!
I love this amp!
Great song Keith
I'm really digging that clean sound on 1:04
The track sounds sick!!!!! Loved it!!!!!
love your work dude!
damn i love this tone. and the riffage. perfect
Incredibly clean playing
Just the amount of pull knobs and switches on this thing make me think of the panel on an old MD-88 passenger jet. The tone makes me want it even more
Iflyjets its more like concorde than Mad Dog to me haha
You sir, you have the best guitar ever seen!
holy fuck that tone man sounds sick good song aswell, really well composed
Hey uncle Keith!! :D
The melodic part is so epic!
great video and the amp sounds great. always wanted a LANEY. now i'll get one. just not sure which one
I'm loving that guitar!
I highly recommend the Ibanez RGD7421. I own an Ibanez RGD7321 and love it! 26.5 scale, plays like a charm, stays in tune well, and if you get 10-62 Ernie Ball Cobalts it feels smoother than butter.
Gorgeous amp!
Great sounding demo and Awesome song. \m/
I have finally pulled the trigger on this amp..lol. I remember watching this video eight years ago and wanting this amp. Finally......Will arrive tomorrow.
How are you liking it..
I watched this video 8 years ago and wanted this amp, I still want this amp.
This tune is immense!
Love your song!!! It´s epic!
ok. now i definitely want this amp.
Sad and beautiful heavy song
Love the IRT120H but how is the matching IRT412 cabinet? I see it’s lightweight and made from plywood so this does concern me about the cabinet a little bit. I love heavy duty birch wood cabs for the durability, heaviness and sound. Again love the IRT120H but just not sure about getting the matching cabinet IRT412. Opinions?
badass amp, sounds great
is there any other ways to record through this amp rather than with a mic???
Yes, its called "The Arrival". On his first album "The Arrival" ;)
Sick tone!
Really really impressed by the sound he got from the 2x12 Laney IRT cab. When you listen to this you're like "Hum ok I don't need a Mesa"
Christopher Church Not sure to understand. You use only an Axe FX now or an IronHeart? I've listen a lot of Axe FX things but it's expensive and really hard to get (delay) and it seems pretty hard to setup. Bad setting sounds to numeric to my ears.
Christopher Church Got it. Why do you use one on stage and the other for studio?
Off course you don't need mesa!
Marko Borščak I was kind of kidding but I'm still impress by the result he got from this cab since everything else I heard from it wasn't convicing at all.
Nicolas Cavigneaux Mesa is, well, mesa but there are other cabinets with same specs without the name Mesa on it! Take my cabinet for example...it's a Randall made by 8 layer wood and two Vintage 30 in it! It is a high price cabinet like Mesa. Other guitarist in my band has a Mesa with the same specs and there is no difference. My point is that the specs are important for the sound and not only the name. Don't take this as an offence. I'm just saying my personal opinion. Cheers :)
was waiting for that! thx
This is my favourite tone.
Is the DI really an option to micing the speakers or did you ever use the DI?
How about your use of the vari watts, is there any decision of tone influence from it or you just wanted a bit less volume?
tone is sooo opeth. you can hear laney all over damnation and ghost reveries. great amp.
Opeth didnt use Laney for those two albums ... They used Rectifier and Marshall.
Laney unveiled IronHeart amps in 2012. Opeth could not have used an IronHeart in those albums.
Awesome thanks man! Ill check it out
Thank you very much, your video is well thought, recorded and your guitar playing is relevant for the amp in question. It helps indeed to have a good idea about the capabilities of the amp - which benefits a lot from your playing qualities, nevertheless. Congrats.
I really like this amps tone very nice
Which strings do you use for the drop A 7 string?
It says right in the description.BRJ Hesperian Custom 7 with custom Duncan Distortion pickups.
How do you feel the irt studio replicates the power if the regular ironheart?
Keith, you should record the whole album again
stock tubes or were they changed?
do you know any good amp for keyboards? I once used Boss speakers with boosters however the set up is very tedious.
I can only dream of ever owning an amp even half as good as these!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hello Keith ! I was wondering what was better for amping for small gigs through a 112 orange between the ironheart 20 and the Studio. Would the Studio loud enough ? or would i need a power amp section added ?
Btw I love what you do, odn't stop !
Thx.
Keith, I'd like you to try the EVH III Mini.
I've been playing a 6262, 6505+, 5150II and an AxeFX and I currently am in love with my mini.
Hey Keith,
Do you find that recording the dry and processed signals at the same time introduces noticeable latency? I'd like to try recording this way also, so I can try reamping. Thoughts?
I imagine that not doing any onboard monitoring probably negates this..?
Completely killer!!! One important thing to note here (IMO), especially to kids out there trying to achieve a killer heavy tone... Throughout all of it, the guitar still sounds like a guitar! The overdrive isn't as over the top as some think it needs to be. And imagine that... The mids are still there!!
He’s got the mids at 1 o’clock. So plenty of mids.
Hi I want to buy this head but I don't know what cabinet would fit nice... What do you feel about the Ironheart cabinet (which has custom designed speakers HH) VS the Laney GS212IE cabinet (which has Celestions 70/80's speakers)?
what are those things he puts at the top of his guitar? i want to buy one or two
Which speakers are in that cab?
great video!!!
What is that beautiful hunk or stringed wood you are holding in your talented hands? Can't make out the name on the headstock. Badass.
Do you get to keep all the guitar you try out?
The Arrival! HELL YEAH!!!!
What do you use for reamping?
also, is a vid for the 6262 coming as well?
How are the dava control picks?
I am thinking of purchasing the combo as the overall value is less. What's you opinion? Is there difference in the sound?
This song is fucking awesome and the amp sounds great!
What's that the thing on the end of the neck called?
Guys im trying to decide between the Peavy 6505 combo and this any advice?
ITS SOOOO NICE!
Was there any point of 4:30 onwards? The knobs seem to do absolutely nothing!
Any decently priced brands for a 7 string someone would recommend? it would be my first 7 string, but i do want a quality guitar. I'm looking for 26.5 scale length as well, that or 27 inch. I've checked out Agile and Schecter heavily, but i heard keith no longer agreed with Agile pricing. Any help? Thanks.
So, how are you liking that Kemper Profile amp I see in the background?
brilliant stuff mate! What program do you use for the drums?
Where can I buy these brj guitars?
question: I am really thinking about buying a 7 string, I would considerer myself quite proficient at the 6 string, is there much to learn, stoopedd question, whats your tuning and which string changes? Do you have a lower string or one more higher? i think its the 7th string, see i don't even know if it's an E.
I'm not sure I can fathom such a complicated phenomenon.
Awaiting arrival of my 120h
how hard would it be to have an amp that runs a clean and diry signal at once. so you get a cut and a cream sound?
Guitar directly in amp? no OD pedal in chain?
Is all the gear you review yours?
Are these the stock speakers in the cab?
On the clean channel though ?
