Commanders executive Scott Fitterer drafted Horn early in Carolina. The Panthers like him, but he'll likely command top dollar, despite a checkered medical history. This splash would aid Washington's secondary.

AP is hands down Executive Of Year for the moves he has made ( DQ, Free Agents, great Draft ) AND the moves he HAS NOT made ( Ayute, Adams, and every other shiny object that fans scream for every time a name pops up).. He has a mandate from Josh Harris to build a perennial contender for championships and Super Bowls. As great a season as we are having, over the next few years we need an influx of young talent to recover from "the gang that couldn't shoot straight" that was in our front office for years. To do that I believe AP when he says " We are going to build through the draft ". That's why I believe he's not looking to trade picks, he's looking to ACQUIRE picks. So everyone, take a deep breath and stop giving away all our picks and squandering our cap space for the latest "flavor of the day" just because some national broadcaster says we should grab them . With AP and his team we have ADULTS in the front office for the first time since Beathard/Casserly/ brought us 3 Super Bowls in the 80's and 90's. HTTR!
Lol what have we given away? Jaycee Horn is 24 and he's immediately the best corner on the team if traded for. He could be had for a 4th.

Our locker room is solid with what they have now. I think AP and DQ will fill in the gaps through the draft and FA next season.
There's actually a few guys on practice squads I think our team would absolutely Maximize. 1st 29 year old CB Desmond King, who's just sitting on Houston's squad following a season where he was traded and still turned in a 70 PFF grade, Then Kadarius Toney is sitting on the Browns Squad and they have no hope of taking advantage of talent, but he would be a Perfect free addition to slip onto the field to boost out screen game even more, sucking the defense up to the line but spreading it out for Jayden to drop dimes over the top. And It might sound crazy, but Dan Quinn and Mike Tomlin are similar coaches who know how to motivate and get the best out of players, and there's a guy out there who had elite WR2 potential that Tomlin was close to tapping into before he traded him away. Chase Claypool is an athletic 6'4 220lbs version of Dyami who could add a presence across the middle of the field, and deep with the ABILITY, to be a powerful perimeter blocker IF, and that's a big IF but I believe in DQ to do it, If he's Motivated. He's out there as a free agent. We have the staff, the player leadership and culture to guide him back to being a productive WR like he was in Pitt, because lets be real there was None of that in Chicago when he got traded there and coach McDaniel and Tyreek Hill don't really have that like we do. Randy Gregory is also out there free as a solid vet Pass Rusher who was his best in DQ's 1st year in Dallas.
I like the idea of trading the Pats for Jonathan Jones too.
I do like the claypool part. He did have lots of potential as a #2 and he's the archetype we need. He's kinda a head case tho and even Tomlin couldn't handle him which says a lot.

Getting Horn would probably change our draft priorities
Top tier CB's will be off the board at the rate our pick is dropping. I'd definitely be OK with trading a pick for a known performer if we are confident his injury issues are behind him (a big if).
Played 3 games in 2021, 13 in 22, 6 last year and 5 this year (27 outta 51 games) Can't do shit on the IR. Taking up cap space for nothing. High price for that kinda risk

Amari Cooper is washed in my opinion. But I like Jaycee horn he's a good corner and I think he's only 25 so he's peak isn't really there yet
Horn Injury prone is his biggest flag but he’s in a 4th year rookie contract with 5th year option ….4th/5th round none more….i agree Cooper is washed lol

I doubt they'll bring in anyone new at this time, unless you know for 100% that this guy fits the character & more importantly the culture of this new team. You have to remember that AP said he wanted to build this team thru the draft, collecting draft picks & drafting young players who love the game & will fit in with our new culture. By going astray from that sends a bad signal to this team. This team has jelled together from April, all of the guys he brought in were all team captains & a new culture is forming. But, to bring in a new guy that hasn't sweated blood with this team is a risk. And, as tempting as it is to go after it all, I think the smart, long term answer is to follow the plan as you have already set forth, because right now that plan is working.
Furthermore, if they did decide to trade for any one or both guys, a 3rd round pick is way too high. I could see a trade like the Cowboys did in 2022 where they traded Cooper & a 6th rounder to the Browns for their 5th & 6th round picks. That seems more reasonable. All the best.

I fully agree, sign the best possible CB before ANY other player. This defense needs the help stat, the offense does not! And the fact that Devin White was cut without playing at all this year is a BAD sign of his attitude or something similarly toxic, so AP will definitely stay away unless there's some strange fluky issue with the Eagles specifically.
Jaycee Horn makes sense. Plus Forbes is probably out of here next season anyway

When scouting Wr's, we have to look at their blocking grade. Only way a new WR will fit in this system is if they are also an elite blocker. We only pass to setup the run. The Kingsbury system requires recievers that are COMMITTED to blocking and doing the little things in additon to catching

We’re just fans that watches the show. But behind the curtains A.P. is building the next prop, whatever he decides, good or bad, I know his process is at the top of any organization, but imo, neither player are worth trading for.

I like the idea of Horn and Cooper on the Commanders, but I'm concerned about the cost. I wouldn't want a well established starter to be traded as they have paid their dues and suffered through the bad years. To trade them just as things have turned around would be too cruel. However, I'd definitely be OK giving up draft capital for players of their caliber.

The best acquisition before the trade deadline would be a CB1 so, out of the 3 players you mentioned here - Jaycee Horn makes the most sense. We don't need a WR like Davante Adams, Cooper maybe, but I'd rather see them utilize their (2) RD 3 picks more - Luke McCaffrey, and Ben Sinnott! I'd trade a 3rd rd pick next year and add a 7th rd 2026 pick for Horn

no on cooper, i'd rather kick tires with martavius bryant. he's available, doesn't require a pick to trade, will not hurt the cap at all. But, all in all, i think we're good with WR unless someone gets injured.

AGAIN with this trading a third round draft choice for ONE year of a player.
The third-rounder will be good for 4 years at least of a very affordable contract.

Each depends on what the other teams want. Not giving up the farm for any of them. If they can get them for the right price then OK. But that seems unlikely. Having said that, in AP we trust! If he likes it, he gets the benefit of the doubt.
I would get horn and play him only in the slot to keep him healthy and semi limited warm him up then of course Devin white , I feel Devin has just needed better coaching becuz he was great with the bucs and also getting more depth that’s good for all of us

Armari is still one of the best route runner's in the game he just have had the same problem scary terry has had to many non quarterback's throwing the ball to him but if you put him with someone getting the ball to him you will see the old armari guaranteed I am luke warm on JC white would be a good pick up to rest 54 so he can finish out the season and you won't take a step back in case of injury
Amari would be one of the few smaller wrs I would consider a trade for and a 3rd is reasonable. I'd still prefer a bigger wideout tho like Higgins or chase claypool. Corner is a need but only if it's an elite outside man corner. Pass rusher is still the biggest nerd tho. Well only be able to address 1-2 of those in the draft so if an opportunity to avoid free agency arrives, we should take advantage especially as playoffs look likely.
