The main chef want his chef guy to cook the gumbo but it’s not cooked, it’s raw. So the main chef got what we deserved and he apologized to Jon. He has a lot of working to do to clean the kitchen and make the gumbo more often. We viewers on UA-cam are just laughing because Jon roasted him and his chef too. The thing I appreciate most about Jon's approach is that he underscores how it's one thing for someone to lose their own money, but the minute they bring in a business partner/investor they have a responsibility to be a good steward of that person's investment.

Food prep and safe food handling is such a BIG DEAL. I've worked in a bar kitchen myself that my grandmother ran and she beat into me the importance of safe food handling. I got food poisoning lately and it was horrid. First time I got it and I wished I was dead. It was horrible.

When I'm in a restaurant, if the server comes out empty handed 15 min after ordering and says "forgive us, your plate just came out, but I saw something wrong, and were having the chef remake it. We'd rather ask you to wait longer than serve you something subpar." I wouldn't be mad, in fact I'd appreciate the honesty and give a good tip. No one wants to wait a long time for food, but people make mistakes and to step in, acknowledge it, and correct it would show some pride in your work.
Instead, this guy brings it out and when he come back says "well, I don't have to ask you how THAT was..." with a smile. I'd fucking get up and leave before something worse happens. I strongly dislike the yelling on this show, but some people need it.
Edit, this place closed very shortly after this aired. Danny opened and failed at another 2 hot dog places with outside investment (apparently).

This show reminds me of Kitchen Nightmare. I like to see them help these places fix and change their ways. Gordon Ramsay did a good job helping a lot of the restaurants. I loved seeing Gordon reignite the passions in a lot of the cooks.

What most people don't seem to know is that most restaurants/bars are VERY dirty, a lot of like what is seen in this vid. In the back the floor is covered in food, trash, and grease. The only difference is that some places actually clean everything properly at the end of the day.
As a cook I can tell you, if it’s a busy restaurant and not some high end stuff. That very much is the reality. Even then we are very careful when prepping food constantly washing hands wearing gloves and making sure everything is cooked to temp.
