Very interesting video! Those pens are truly beautiful. If i had one it would be used every day. Mont Blanc pens are out of my price range but I came to own one in an unusual way. Many years ago I saw a pen lying in the gutter in front of someone's house and I left the pen where it was, thinking the owner may have dropped their pen while going out to get the mail or the newspaper and that they would find the pen where they dropped it. Two days and one thunderstorm later the pen was still there. I picked it up, asked a man who was outside the house if he had lost a pen and he replied that it didn't look familiar. I then took the pen for myself and when I saw the snow cap logo at the end I knew I had a very special pen. It was a Meisterstuck ball-point. I put a lost-and-found ad in the local newspaper and a lost-and-found notice on the bulletin board of a nearby church and tacked a notice onto a utility or telephone pole near where I found the pen but no one ever claimed the Mont Blanc pen and now maybe 20 years later I still have it.
Another excellent overview, Joost, & I echo Peter Sampson's sentiments, entirely; if I had to choose between the two, the less expensive model would be my preference - not necessarily because of the cost differential - rather, the more understated aesthetics; the "888" is of course, beautifully created, but a little too much for my taste, coupled with the fact of the weight comparison; clearly, both are very heavy scribes - the former in my selection would be one that I could write with for protracted periods of time. I'll have to save - & quickly !! ;D There really aren't enough superlatives in the (English) language to describe these pens, but as we say in the Irish Gaelige: "Sarmhaith" - Excellent !!

That is a beautiful story! The store behind such a pen is most of the time more worth than the value.
