My favorite and most intriguing ride since 1971 when I didn't look or listen to anything but was bribed with a stuffed Disney character of my choice if I went on. I picked Bambi.
This is one of the best I've seen for 2 reasons. First, you aim the camera in the right place at the right time so it really reminds me of being there. But second and most impressive this is the only one I've found where someone managed to capture the sounds and voices of the mansion without it being overwhelmed by the voices of everyone else on the ride.
I'm back again, watching this gem of a video. I'll never forget my first time at the Haunted Mansion in Orlando, back in 1973 on a family trip to Florida from Long Island NY. Simply amazing. I didn't want this ride to end. And when it was done, my folks said I could have one item from the gift shop and I chose a glow in the dark miniature skull with long white hair. I no longer have that souvenir but I have a sweet childhood memory to cherish always.
Every time I rode this, I wanted so bad to sneak off the ride and stay in there :) You did an AWESOME job on this video, I get home sick too and will watch this often!!! Thank you!
Brilliant Bid Fat Panda!!!! Best I've seen on this ride, which we have to ride several times every visit. Thanks really made me feel like I was there. I must "hurry back!"
Thank for you for filming this - I never knew that you could put the audio together in that fashion - how cool - almost like a movie - and thanks for extras - I am so going !!!
This is so great! Haunted Mansion is my favourite as well. Thanks for taking the time to put together such an all-encompassing video. I always ride this attraction multiple times when I visit.
By far my absolutely favorite ride! John, that was perfect filming and super awesome! I'm so in love with that ride and enjoyed the whole video so much! Thank you!
Pandavision is spectacular, very nice work capturing close ups, and excellent use of night vision. Audio is great. 8X, holy cow. Thanks so much for the time and quality! KO
This is an amazing video!! Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite rides in all of Disney World. Thank you for this video, I imagine it must have been a lot of work!
Thank you for bringing the FULL HM experience from Disney World to my computer screen. It feels like I'm ACTUALLY there! So now I don't have to go on it! So thank you, because I'm not goin in that mansion unless I die and retire. :)
Kudos on a nice HM video. That's a tough ride with the dark and the movement. Saw a number of things on your video I didn't see on the ride before. I'll be looking for them next time. Thanks! Your videos are super!
I've been on this ride so many times throughout my lifetime. My favorite memory is when I was 6 yo and "Lurch" the butler slammed the door in our face! (They had enough people). Then once inside, he singled me out and kept creeping me out. (Back then, the ride operators usually "targeted" a guest.) It was so cute and so funny!
I read somewhere that the Haunted Mansion elevator room in Orlando, the floor stays on one level, while the ceiling just moves up, and at Disneyland, you actually move underground.
That is correct.. The reason that it goes down at Disneyland, is because the hallway that goes between the stretching room and the ride load area actually goes under the railroad track.. The building that houses the ride, is on the other side of the track..
I really love the haunted mansion, it is one of my favorite rides !!! Also I like the holiday version from Disneyland Resort ! I have a question John, have you been at the Disneyland Resort ?
"Master Gracey is ready to see you." I KNEW IT! The Ghost Host IS Master Gracey! People keep saying that's wrong, but Disney cast members are saying it, so how can it be wrong? XD
ElFreakinCid Some also say it is the Raven (bird) that keeps appearing - even at the end when he says "Ahhhh, THERE you are...." - the raven is looking down from above
BigFatPanda That was the original plan at one point, but they decided against it for some reason or another. At Disneyland they almost had a raven greeting you in the foyer, and a promotional record even said the master of the mansion got his spirit put into the body of a raven, but perhaps in the end they simply felt it'd be better to just have the host be a disembodied voice. Apparently I was a bit hasty in my conclusion above though--at WDW, Master Gracey has indeed been decided on as the Ghost Host simply because cast members kept using the "Master Gracey is ready to see you" line, but at Disneyland, no mention is EVER made of the Ghost Host being Master Gracey, and Disneyland's top imagineers outright reject the notion that they're the same character. They have grudgingly accepted "Master Gracey" as the name of the man who turns into a skeleton in his changing portrait, and accepted him as the mansion's last owner, partially because the movie popularized the idea of the mansion being called Gracey Manor, but the Host there is outright said to simply be one of the 999 happy haunts, chosen by the others as the perfect guide for mortal guests, and it's possible he may have been the mansion's head servant, perhaps a butler.
Actually, the ghost host is Master Gracey's grandfather. He hung himself because his girlfriend, Elizabeth,(who turns out to be Master Gracey's) died. So the cast members told Master Gracey about that and then put him in the foyer.
I went to walt Disney yesterday cause I have year passes.they updated the ride it's so awsome u should go back and see it. This December there making more updates .and I this video is awsome !
This is one of the best videos of one of the world's best rides! I love how you actually interviewed one of the cast members! Also, are those real ravens in the pet cemetery?
BigFatPanda The quality of this video is so amazing, I feel like I am actually there! Is it possible for you to do a video like this of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, and maybe even it's a small world?
Such a great video!! Are the ghosts at the table new? I don't think I've ever noticed them before. So...how many times did you ride this in a row to get all the footage? I'm guessing 3-5. Again, awesome job!!
Definitely my favorite haunted Mansion ride through to watch but I wish you didn't edit the dialog of the ghost host so much. Other than that it's perfect
BigFatPanda Looks like it is delayed opening until Jan. 1st and refurbishment on the HM will take place in December up until the 19th. Have you heard anything down in your neck of the woods?
BigFatPanda I have never been to Disney World. I hope to go there in the future. I live in California, and according to your video, it looks way different that Disneyland's version.
Michael Bilgen I'd say they're 'essentially' the same, but in general, DL has more walking and WDW has less walking but more scenes on the ride - it was expanded from DL's by adding a Staircase, Portrait Hall (formerly the 'Sinister 11' staring portraits, now the lightning change portraits you walk past at DL), Library (which houses the busts you walk past at DL), Music Room with phantom player, and Spider Staricase (which was turned into the surreal endless staircases with footprints). From the corridor of doors to the Hitchhikers, it's the same (though WDW's hitchhiker's have been made interactive)
MysteryManfrom79 They are completely different. The Walt Disney World version looks more Spanish styled, while the one in Disneyland looks more like the one in the movie. I have never been to Walt Disney World because I live in California and I hope to go there in the near future.
Michael Bilgen If you're referring to the exteriors then yes. The WDW one is not Spanish however, it is based on a Gothic Dutch revival mansion. The Disneyland one is based on a Southern style mansion. The reason why WDW's looks different is because they were not putting in a NEW ORLEANS SQUARE, but a LIBERTY SQUARE, so it had to be re-themed to suit a New England setting. In fact, the Haunted Mansion and it's variants is the only ride to appear in a different 'land' in every park. Though a carbon copy of WDW's, Tokyo Disney's is in FantasyLand, and Disneyland Paris' Phantom Manor is in FrontierLand. I hope you get to go as it looks fabulous lit up at night, even though close up views got hampered in recent years by a canopy over the queue!
Very nice, but shame they still haven't sorted that awful timing on foyer portrait! Somebody in maintenance over the last 5 years must have noticed surely?
I agree - it is already changing (like 1/3 the way) when you first come upon it. I have to make sure I tell guest relations next time I am there. The squeaky wheel get's the grease :)
BigFatPanda A shame as there is plenty of time after the first person arrives to hear the whole opening spiel - if they'd only put it back to how it was (not changing till the spiel began) it would be fine. I'm guessing it was changed because previously the last 2 stages used to overlap the stretch rooms opening, so they adjusted it so it was complete before the doors opened and people would not then get ushered in by over-eager cast members before it ended - they just under-estimated how quickly people get in before it begins. I think Guest Relations may be a waste as they may not understand the point you're making. Better off e-mailing it to WD Imagineers and explaining that it is consistently like this.
BigFatPanda I've already contacted Guest Services, and even hinted that they may sell more Gracey-related merchandise if people actually got to see who he was! If tempting them with candy doesn't work, nothing will. If you send your vid to them and explain that you were first in and this is what happens every time they may act. I personally don't think it's been picked up on, as they probably test it by just standing there watching the cycle over and over - they need to mingle with a crowd and be first in! Best to ask for just 10-15 secs after first person comes in before morphing (asking for whole group to see it they may think we're being over-fussy and quick turnovers are needed with crowd levels) and also be very complimentary of their work but say this is a blot on their landscape...
The Shiny Volcarona I heard the reason is that Florida get's more tourists that want to see it in it's original form whereas CA get's a lot of locals yearning for a change. Again, not sure but this is what I keep hearing.
It could be that they want to make the different park more unique. They do want people to come to every park. Ours here in California doesn't really change much so people can get bored of it very easily. I suspect that's why we were the only park to get cars land. I'm not sure that this is the case though (I know that the Tokyo park has haunted mansion holiday as well and the one in Paris has a completely unique mansion of its own). Anyway it's just a thought.
+Eduardo Corrochio That’s awesome. I think I remember that lil skull from when I was a kid.
The Haunted Mansion is the BEST ride ever!
I agree!
When I got stuck on the ride I got stuck at the very end so I listened to "hurry back we are dying to have you" about three million times!

The Best Video ride of the Haunted Mansion....Nicely Done!!
Pandavision is spectacular, very nice work capturing close ups, and excellent use of night vision. Audio is great. 8X, holy cow. Thanks so much for the time and quality! KO
Thanks so much Kay - I hope you subscribe, I have more up my sleeve :)
I'm 37 years old and I will never get tired of the HM
Holy sh*t! That tombstone at 1:47 scared the crap out of me! I thought you just added special effects!
My fave Walt Disney World ride!!!! Thank u so much for this!
This is an amazing video!! Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite rides in all of Disney World. Thank you for this video, I imagine it must have been a lot of work!
This was ONE of the hardest edits, yes
Thank you for bringing the FULL HM experience from Disney World to my computer screen. It feels like I'm ACTUALLY there! So now I don't have to go on it! So thank you, because I'm not goin in that mansion unless I die and retire. :)
Thank you so much Savannah

Wow! Truly amazing! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I felt like I was there only with greater detail!!! Wow!!
You are so Welcome and it is because of comments like yours that I keep it up and go through the extra effort. Thank you for enjoying.
Amazing edited video. Well done! Thanks so much! The mansion is familiar yet different with the Tokyo mansion.
Best video of the ride of the haunted mansion I've seen. Nice job!
Thank you April
Great Job! You video is the best quality I have seen!
bruce3318 Thank you so much
BigFatPanda the haunted mansion and country bear jamboree are the best vids that I’ve ever seen from you channel
Very nicely done! I need to get back there and see some of the changes they've clearly made since I was last there in 2005.
CommanderBalok They should be adding a HATBOX Ghost like they did in Disneyland at some time as well
They did but after the diamond anniversary they took it out but it looks at you and the head switches between the box and under the hat
+Joshua A I'm pretty sure Hattie is still there
+Tori Loves the haunted mansion Oh srry i didnt realize its Disney World i was talkng about Disneyland
Fat panda this is also my number 1 ride at Disney World your clips are fantastic :)
Thank you Andrew
Did you know the first crow you see and only the first one it's name is Lester and a have to pet it. If you don't the ride won't start. Amazing!! Lol!
Well done, this is STILL one of my favorite rides.
Thank you so much
Great video, and an even better ending!!!
Thank you soooo much!!!
0:20 That was cool
Our fave attraction in the park! We ride it at least 2 times each visit.
John Eagen Mine too!
John Eagen although the ride is spooky, this are and country bear jamboree are fav attractions at Disney world
Great classic ride. Maybe because I'm 50 but the newer rides can't touch the classics.
The singing old guys. Genius.
best glass trick ever!
The voice of Paul Frees "lives" on as your host.
Billy Dec Yes it does
This is my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom! No matter how long to wait is, I make sure that I ride it before I leave.
Me too!
I love how in depth your videos are. Keep up the good work.
Emily Courtney Thank you so much!

Hands Down my favorite Haunted Mansion video
Thank you sir!
Going back in July, can't wait to see what they've added!
watersfan When were you here last? There must be a lot added to all of Magic Kingdom for you :)
11 years ago Panda. This will be my third time going ;)

paul08211973 Pretty interesting! Thanks for clarifying! :) Disney's so smart with their ride tactics.
paul08211973 Thanks for your insight on this!
I really love the haunted mansion, it is one of my favorite rides !!! Also I like the holiday version from Disneyland Resort !
I have a question John, have you been at the Disneyland Resort ?
I have never been to Disneyland :( One Day!
Great edit!! Thanks!!

The portrait of the Ghost Host is Hatchet Man in the corridor of Doors, actually. He's also "Hanging around" in the stretching room, too.
Thanks for your awesome videos. :)
I Blasterz Thank YOU for your comment
I love this! Thank you!
brooke6224 You are very Welcome!
I went to walt Disney yesterday cause I have year passes.they updated the ride it's so awsome u should go back and see it. This December there making more updates .and I this video is awsome !
Andrew Evangelist Awesome - Thank you
Very good filming
I wasn't expecting the ending of the video
LOL
@@BigFatPanda at the ending i was like. Dang Woman! Scared The Hell Outta Me!
I love the Haunted Mansion
I'm gonna ride this on Halloween!!!!!
My favorite ride at Disney World
That scared me at the end

In December there making a gift shop to the haunted mansion I found out a couple of days ago! I wanna get a shirt that says "your Ghost Host" haha
Andrew Evangelist That would be cool
BigFatPanda Awesome!
great ! I wanna go
The best Mansion moment is when I got there right after opening and was the ONLY person on the ride. It was a little more creepy then.
David Tallevast oh I bet
Stretching room was stretching and I freaked out
It's trippy!
I love Haunted Mansion is really scary horror creepy haunted house 🏚⏰tombstone, horror horrible terrifying screams
This is one of the best videos of one of the world's best rides! I love how you actually interviewed one of the cast members! Also, are those real ravens in the pet cemetery?
Haunted Amusement! Yes, although I would have loved to lie to you and say they were animatronic and see how long until you called my bluff LOL
BigFatPanda The quality of this video is so amazing, I feel like I am actually there! Is it possible for you to do a video like this of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, and maybe even it's a small world?
Haunted Amusement! Oh yeah and maybe the Liberty Belle Riverboat?
Haunted Amusement! Lol, BFP, can you do that though, what I suggested above?
Such a great video!! Are the ghosts at the table new? I don't think I've ever noticed them before. So...how many times did you ride this in a row to get all the footage? I'm guessing 3-5. Again, awesome job!!
Actually 8 times Michael. If you recall, I had this video out previously - just made some modifications to it.
Oh, and forgot to answer - No - ghosts on the table have always been there as far as I can remember
Love this ride but only went on this ride at Disney World.
I miss the original attic bride, I thought she was more creepy just standing there with glowing eyes and the heart beating, but maybe that is just me.
Love pandavision ! John how are you able to block out the background noise and only hear what the ghosts are saying? Awesome job once again!
Thank you so much - this was SOME edit job let me tell you and 5.1 channel sound
999 Happy Haunts!
when was the mansion made
Definitely my favorite haunted Mansion ride through to watch but I wish you didn't edit the dialog of the ghost host so much. Other than that it's perfect
It was only for copyright or I would not have :)
Glad you liked it.
When I went on this, the ride stopped twice. I was laughing the whole time about it. I felt bad for the kids though.
ffviifangirl1 Many times it is because a handicapped individual needs the ride to stop to board
Ever wonder just how many miles cast member log while walking on the belt where you get onto your doombuggy?
I bet it's like 10 miles a day or more
RIP Mister Toad...
anyone know what they mean when the say "final arrangements can be made at the end of the ride"?
What is your intro song called?
Hey Panda, is it true Disney World is opening a Haunted Mansion Gift Shop? If so, we need a video of the store and its items. Thanks.
jljripper69 Definitely after Oct 1 or when it opens
BigFatPanda Looks like it is delayed opening until Jan. 1st and refurbishment on the HM will take place in December up until the 19th. Have you heard anything down in your neck of the woods?
So where did you found the music box theme for the haunted mansion at the ending of this video?
It has been so long ago Robert I am not sure but will see what I can find out
Okay, take all the time you need Panda. :)
I believe the music box is actually from Phantom Manor in Paris.
Oh okay. Thanks a lot my friend. :)
Spooky
Not really
Didn't DisneyWorld have a Tudor house ?
I miss the ghouls that jump out of the chests in the attic, scarier.
Nearly peed myself at the ending -_-
toooooo funny LOL
what is so scary atthe ending
im from the future and they added the hatbox ghost
Why does everybody insist on using Nightvision? It ruins every effect in the ride!
SonOfaChaosGod Well not everyone's camera has a lowlight feature, a lot of people have to use nightvision for us at home to see anything.
BFP, I just recently filmed the attraction for myself! Do you want to check it out and tell me what you think?
thehaunted mansion Fan ?
haunted mansion collection?
uymy fwvorite ride
the collection?
the houdt houdt?

It is way different than Disneyland's version.
I have never been to Disneyland - are you able to tell which one you like better?
BigFatPanda I have never been to Disney World. I hope to go there in the future. I live in California, and according to your video, it looks way different that Disneyland's version.

I went on the ride its not creepy at all!!!
I thought it was pretty creepy when I was 5. ;)
That is not sacred for me
