Absolutely love Lion Brand yarn and all the different variations they offer. Nice pattern, appears very simple to do with a beautiful ending result. I love to spend my free time making items for the elderly; this shawl looks like it would be perfect to take the chill off. Thank you so much for posting!!
Tamara... Thank you so much for teaching us how to crochet this beautiful shawl. It would certainly make a lovely prayer shawl.. and it is so easy.. I am adding this pattern to my growing file of videos showing how to crochet various shawls.. I can’t wait to try it. I love the beautiful lacy look.. 💜
Thanks so much for this awesome pattern. I reduced the chains and made a scarf instead of a shawl and it came out beautiful. Great tutorial instruction.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! It was so clear and easy to understand, I followed along and the shawl turned out beautiful ! Thank you ! I couldn't have done it without your excellent video! :)
I made a shawl for myself & making one for my mother in law as a christmas present! I know she will like it. Thank you, Tamara.... Keep going to teach us with more videos! Merry Christmas!
Thank you! This is such a simple pattern that you can do while watching tv or just riding along in the car. One little "pro" tip: For crochet beginners... if you had to put it down and can't remember if you did the "chain 1" in between your Doubles... look at the loop on the hook, if there are two little loops around the yarn on your hook then you have NOT done the "chain 1". If you HAVE done it, you'll see just a single loop around the yarn under the loop on your hook.
Thank you for this tutorial! Yesterday I went to Joann’s and bout the Shawl in a Cake, color Lotus Blossom. I’m in my second row of this pattern. Again, thank you so much. Will subscribe as soon as I send this message to you.
I love this Tamara. Now of course there's the Shawl in a Cake. I'd love to see the Top made in 2 pieces. I want to make the Top and Long Skirt. Hopeful!!
This is perfect, so calming and relaxing 😌... I scored a bunch of lion brand millend cakes, making shawls and such for a Family Reunion. Peace and Love Always, Lorri 💜💙💚💛🧡❤
Hi again thank-you so much for sharing your beautiful talent, you are my fav channel made quite a few of your projects,i bought 2 balls of shawl in a ball in the color cleansing quartz, i will try to take my 2 skeins and make it a little larger its for a gift thank you again a little scared of working with this yarn but will try your pattern. just love your furls hook which i will be getting soon i hope. take care and keep up the great work.
Hi Sage! Are you referring to this one? www.mooglyblog.com/nifty-needle-case/ I'm afraid I don't have a video for that one, but I'm happy to answer any questions you have, and there are some close up photos included in the pattern!
Lovely pattern! I, myself, like to pull yarn from the outside. My very first knitting project I pulled from the inside and it was so tangled I had to untangle everything... lesson learned?
Probably a dumb question but I bought two balls of this yarn to make this project because I'd like to make it larger. Do you know how many repeats the stitch count would be? Seems any odd number should work but I'm not confident with that ;-) I'm a large sized lady who needs more width and length of a stole like this. Thanks for the tutorial, your videos are always great and super clear to follow! Thanks in advance.
Hi Jenifer! Not a dumb question at all! Yes, any odd number should work - and then just work as many rows as you like to get the length you like! :) I hope you enjoy making it! Thank you so much!
Tamara Kelly yes I pretty much understand that you come back to the foundation chain and work the other side the video was helpful I have also seen how a chart looks with a shawl worked in two halves and I think a stitch marker will be handy I'm not a beginner but afraid to push on but I think I can do it I can always pull some out if I make a mistake. Thank you so much for your help your work is beautiful
So beautiful. Thank you. I may have missed it somewhere but can you tell me what the finished size is and also if I want it bigger would I just join another ball of yarn on?
Tamara Kelly thanks so much Tamara! I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Although I am a beginner I am going to try this. My biggest dilemma is going to be which colourways to chose. What a nice dilemma.
Not a silly question at all! This yarn has a lot of texture - as I'm sure you saw in the video! - and that can make it a bit easier to tangle when pulling from the center, as the yarn can sort of grab onto itself. Pulling from the outside it's all easy, no tangles!
Tamara Kelly ....Almost at the end of the video when you were going to hide in the tail you grabbed your needle from a little orange pouch it was holding your needles.... Go to 12:04 of your video thats when I saw it...
Hola Tamara. Would you mind telling me the finished length and wide of the shawl if one were to follow the instructions? I wanna do it wider so it will fall from the shoulders to my waist.
Tamara Kelly sorry to bother you again, but if I want to make it more wider and less length , say 20-22 inches (instead of 17) how much chain should I add to the foundation (instead of 67)? Thanks for your help!
Hi Nat! I don't think it was removed - unless you posted two questions? I see it below as a reply to another comment. So assuming it's the same question, you were asking about the hook? It's a Furls! :) They are my favorite! I have a link to them in the sidebar on my site, www.mooglyblog.com
Thank you for the great tutorial 🧶 💗I noticed on the written instructions that blocking is recommended which I don't know anything about. Is there a tutorial on how?
Hi Sharon! For this pattern, blocking is pretty simple! If you've ever had a sweater that told you to "reshape and lay flat to dry," then you have blocked before. So you want to get the shawl damp, then lay it out flat in a nice rectangle shape. Let it air dry and you're done! Some people like to use pins and such to get a precise shape, but that's optional. :) I hope that helps!

Love this yarn and simple pattern. The yarn makes the simple pattern look good.
Thank you! I have such a hard time visualizing a written pattern. Your brief tutorial made sense of it all!
Thanks so much for this awesome pattern. I reduced the chains and made a scarf instead of a shawl and it came out beautiful. Great tutorial instruction.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is a lovely shawl, and you are an excellent teacher.. Thank you.
Cannot wait to start making this and all the other shawls! Great video, so very easy and will be a quick project, well hopefully! Thanks Tamara!

Thank you so much for showing a simple pattern for this challenging ( but beautiful!) yarn!

this looks like a fun project so will look for yarn and directions in store

Thank you for showing the weaving process 😊
Thank you for the instructions..looks easy.
Lovely pattern
I am glad you mentioned to take the yarn from outside. I hadn't watched your video , tried to get the inside and got mine horribly tangled.
I don't want to "thumbs up" yarn tangles, but I hope I helped for next time!
Always thought this yarn was too thin for a J- hook........guess not !🥴😀 very pretty and look forward to make one !
I love this yarn - and the one ball is great when it comes to gift giving...
Very nice quick and simple pattern. By chance is there a video on your tapestry needle case? ~Sage

It's about 17 x 69 in. (43 x 175.5 cm), and yes, you could add another skein and just keep going! :)

Can you use a small crochet hook to weave in the the tail?
Yes, if you prefer it! :)
@@mooglyblog Thank you! I am making this for my cousin. I'm on row 23🤗
This may sound like a silly question but,why do you prefer to unwind from the outside rather then pull from center on this yarn?

What makes you decide to work from the inside or outside of the skein of yarn?
