Excellent video!..I'm lazy in the summer about tending my grows..lol..but I only got myself to blame why I'm getting less fruits on spindly plants...my poor sugar rush peach is so out of control..I never topped it so no side growth....soooooo tall..lol
Almost everything has sprouted. And my hydro plants have yet to. But they are only 3 days old now. Hoping SoCal weather can keep the outdoor plants going just as long as my indoor.
Hi Khang! I am growing my peppers in coco coir and i was wondering if i can prune my plants like this or do i have to have a aerogarden or use plain hydro?
Hey when do you start pruning currently my peppers are about 6 inches tall now I’m using an aerogarden farm so I do have a lot of height also I’m planing on growing 2 peppers on each container of the farm thanks
Khang - have you ever heard of the ZipGarden? It's a hydroponic growing system that can grow the equivalent of a 100 square foot garden in a space the size of a refrigerator. I have one and it's pretty amazing.
hey Khang, have you found this year’s heat (also in TX) to be stunting outdoor plants at all? Getting a lot of flower drop but maybe need to adjust fertilizer?
If the heat is too much and the soil gets too dry and will heat up, this will actually kill alot of the roots. This will cause the plant to have trouble taking in nutrients and become stunted. Try to prevent the soil from becoming too dry. If you can have a drip system going, that will greatly help.
@@KhangStarr What about hydroponics indoor? Don't your reservoirs get too warm in the Texas heat? I struggle to keep my indoor plants healthy and have to change out reservoirs every few days to keep plants somewhat healthy, which is kind of insane. I live in NYC. Temps have been pretty bad here but can't compare to Texas.
@@scham2309 For small systems like these, I have them inside my office. At room temperature, the reservoir will not heat up. If you're asking about the ones in my garage, yes, those heat up a little. But since they are much larger, it won't heat up too much.
khang can u help me? i bought a hydro system like one u have and planted two peppers - they are packed with flowers and buds i pruned leaves hard too and the are bushy and under the fixture - but they want to tip over top heavy and not sure if all those buds are peppers its hard to believe!
Does this work the same for tomatoes in a system like this?
Hi Khang,
Do you think it would be helpful to use some sort of reflective foil with small hydroponic systems like these?

I have not seen it. I'll go look it up.

@@KhangStarr I have plants in 7-gal totes (3 each) inside and still really struggle. Maybe the closet isn't an ideal place for them.
Its essentially a balance between leaves for photosynthesis and light for growing shoots 🤔
Hello, is it common for jalapeno flowers to fall off on the first bloom?
Yes, it's very common for some flowers to fall, but if all the flowers fell, that's a problem.
@KhangStarr thank you 😊
@KhangStarr should we prune every week? Or every few days? Or let them grow thick first, then prune?
