    The Helix is more relevant now than when it first came out. Yamaha’s dedication to upkeeping a product is their most valued trait. Thanks for keeping the Helix not only relevant, but ahead of the pack all this time.

      I totally agree, they could just update it with more powerful chips such that you can use more poly pitch effects and more good stuff

      Yep, at the cost of the firehawk 1500/fx support…. I bought the firehawk 1500 for modeling and thought I needed the firehawk fx, nope. In fact the processor in it is inferior to the helix. I don’t even need the amp now because of the helix…. But I love it! 1500 watts of “hello neighbor!”

    • @journeytree

      now it's at the point where I want to buy one, but it's so old that I don't want a Firehawk situation where the app doesn't even exist on Android anymore.

    Helix is probably the single best music purchase I've ever made. All in one rig, mixer, pedal board, interface.... I'm still happy 6 years later. I'm curious of the timing of this video...hmmm

    I've had mine for a few years and still love it. So easy to start a new preset and get inspired. Update days are always fun. Midi is a must now and works seamlessly having reaper change presets during a set. If there was a wishlist for a helix floor mkii....touchscreen, bluetooth to connect wireless headphones, and an on board power amp to run to a cab.

    I've had mine since they came out. It's absolutely incredible that in this day and age a piece of electronic gear can last this long without a hardware update and still be cutting edge. I was excited when Yamaha bought Line 6 because I had already been using Yamaha modeling tech and it was a perfect fit. I figured it would be a huge boost for Line 6 and I was right.
    The new Grammatico Amp model is the best addition yet.

    Great overview Paul as always showing the Helix is still king and relevant after all those years since release. Keep doing you. Best community on top of that makes it a no Brainer. L6 rocks. And Paul that was some killer playing and tones for sure. Loved it. ❤❤

    Line 6 Tech team has done one heck of job with their products! They are so easy to understand and customize and all in all, the devs have done a good job with the responsive UI which interacts with connected system without delays. My helix floor is absolute pleasure to play with and its one of the best decision I've made. I am very curious to know what's next... What is Line 6 working on... Hoping their next flagship beats out other pedals again!!! People are still comparing newer pedals with Helix.. @Line6 hope you guys give us a peek into the future.

    Line6 really innovated the way musicians can integrate their instruments with an all-in-one complete packaged tone machine without having to purchase separate components... It's all there in front of you! Agree with previous post (@Omega-Ignition) ... Helix is more relevant now than before. Always a treat exploring everything without a doubt... However I know there is a lot more I haven't explored yet!

    I'm waiting for the Line 6 Helix Floor "Mark II" to hit the market. Imho it won't pass much time before we can see this and I don't want to expend so much money if in a few months another unit with touchscreen, wfi and an improved UI shows up. Until then I will wait with my Headrush Pedalboard. :)

    Have had the helix since 2019, love it every time I plug in! So useful beyond guitar as well! It takes some time to get used to, but if you do an hour worth of research on some specifics, you’ll be in a pretty good spot to get your own tones rolling.

    I play a helix into a Friedman ASM12 for home practice and the very occasional bar gig. My guitar signal is wireless using an XVive U2. If i were to send my Helix signal to the Friedman using an Alto Stealth (xlr wireless) would this create too much compound latency? Note: The XVive and our internet router are the only other household signals. TYIA

    I just bought one of these things in 2-2024. I wanted one for a while, replaced my pod500x.
    I have a stack of real amps I think I will sell now. I used to prefer them to the pod, but the helix is good enough to make me happy with the sound.

      With regular firmware updates even an 8 year old pedal is as good as a brand new 2023 unit - that's why lots of us continue to use it and will in the future. I've been extremely happy with mine since I upgraded from the HD500X.

    Line 6 guys, since you did Yamaha RA-200 rotary for Helix, could you look into adding Taurus Dopplex DX26 to Helix as well? Dopplex is a "Doppola" rotary speaker replica, the speaker Gilmour used on that famous Pink Floyd "Pulse" show in 1994. Dutch company Taurus now makes those and they're not expensive, around 500 euro for DX26 two-speaker model. Thanks!

    I hope the next flagship brings back more attention to vocal processing. Some of the older units did that better. I hate some of the smaller helix units that don’t process vocals. I’m still using an old x3 live for singing and it sounds amazing

    so can i just hook that pedal up to a marshall amp set to a clean tone?

    • @Eric-dd8bk
      @Eric-dd8bk Рік тому +1

      Of course not.
      You are pretty much pluging a guitar amp sound that's already filtered through a cabinet and a microphone into another guitar amp.

    • @mattiakkanen7866
      @mattiakkanen7866 Рік тому

      @@Eric-dd8bk That's not correct. You can also use the Helix as a pedalboard without any amplifier and cabinet modeling. Just use the effects into a clean amp. It works too. If the amp has an effects loop, then 4 cable method is better and you can take advantage of the Helix amp modeling too 😊

    • @Eric-dd8bk
      @Eric-dd8bk Рік тому

      @@mattiakkanen7866 You are missing the point of his question.
      He said clean tone meaning he's asking whether he can use the amp and cab modeling in a modeler with a guitar amp as long as he is in clean channel.
      And the answer is a big no.
      If he wants to use it like a pedal board without the amp and cab sim, then he can but that's not his question.

      I know you are not talking to me but he's not ganna answer, highly likely, so I will.
      If you turn off the cab sim in the Helix, you can.
      If you want to use the Hlix's cab modeling as well, you'd rather use FRFR monitor speakers to hear yourself.

      I know you posted this a while ago but you get Helix repaired by certified technicians. My USB connector got damaged (brutal for HX Edit) and I was able to get it replaced. Pretty sure you can get fresh foot switches installed for way less than a new one. Good luck.

    I also feel you need a degree to get good tones straight out the box. "Oh you need a compressor in between the amp and cab" etc etc etc etc high cut here, low cut here. I wish it just sounded good out the box. Great piece of gear but not the easiest to get good tones straight away
