A top notch review of an equally excellent ink. I have a few other black inks, of which my firm favorite is Aurora Black. Kaweco Pearl Black, Noodler’s Black and Heart of Darkness are some of the other black inks I own and like much. I discovered Sailor’s Kiwa-Guro in late 2019. I’m so glad I did and decided to buy it, despite the steep price. But it’s proved worth every dollar it costs. Pigmented, permanent and solidly black with the added bonus of being almost a breeze to clean out of pens. No staining in my clear demonstrator pen, no hard starting even after weeks of non-use. I currently have the ink in my Sailor Pro Gear with a broad nib and an Aurora Ipsilon with an M nib. The ink has an almost satiny appearance to it on the page. I love it a lot. Kiwa-Guro is a perfect black ink for those looking for commendable permanence with none of the hassles of cleaning and maintenance of typical pigmented inks. Readily recommended ink. And your helpful, quality review suggests the same. Thanks! And oh, I also have the other two in this series: Seiboku and Souboku, both beautiful blue-blacks; the former leaning blue, the latter leaning black. Both just as great as Kiwa-Guro. I couldn’t be happier with these purchases.
