Couple comments: New Clam Predator seems nicer than the jawjacker, has flag and easy trigger adjust (designed by two guys in Spooner WI). Finicky Fooler also has the flag and a hole cover option. Secondly regarding treble hook size, have you ever lost a catch due to bent hooks? Dropping a shiner on a 8 treble down the hole, either a pike or trout hit it, (never got the chance to set the hook) and when I pulled the line back up the hook was bent half over (eagle claw).
I’ve never lost a fish with a bent hook. Definitely wouldn’t recommend eagle claw hooks. I run all gamakatsu hooks and they hold up perfectly every time
awesome video how do you set your drag? That seems to me that's pretty important. I'm to waiting patience on ice in Wisconsin. just bought 2 jaw jacker. please help me how to set drag I'm going to be using 28" and 30" rod right now
If you watch my video on "everything you need to catch trout through the ice" I show exactly how to set the drag for a jaw jacker. thanks for watching!
Never used a jawjacker before, trying them out this year. Worried about line memory, will this set up work with braided or is the stretch necessary? Thanks for the vid BTW, very informative!
Line memory is not a problem. I use jawjackers all the time. I never use tip ups. U can use braid if it’s warmer out but if it’s cold…braid absorbs water which will cause everything to freeze up on u
thanks for sharing your knowledge on using the jawjacker i found it very helpful.keep up the good videos, .thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video! Appreciate you tuning in! Thanks for the comment!

Mindblown. I am using everything the opposite way. 60lb braid, 4/0 hook for pike Will try your set up and see how it goes with the jaw jacker.
Well I hope this video helps ya out for sure! Let me know how the new set up works for ya! Really appreciate you watching!
