I have owned a more upmarket version for the last 5 or so years. Mine has a meter and a few more options. On mine the small wire Denis chopped off is part of a continuity tester for unpowered wires. One point Denis didn’t mention is when using the probe to power or extend ground to a point in the circuit, operate the switch before connecting the probe to ovoid sparking and premature destruction of the switch contacts.
@@theGADGETSplaylist Hi john yes i also have the upmarket tool it comes in a nice molded box a few more accessories and a extension cable of about 15 feet and is aimed to the professional market, think it cost me approx $120 including one of snap-on's discounts, I have had mine for about 12 years and has never failed
You know I have eyed a power probe forever. But being the cheap bastard I am…never committed. This looks the ticket. I like the mods too. Cheers Denis. Hope all’s well 👍
Buy the power probe or Autel Ps100 and you won’t have to worry about it for so many years. Cheap things last for a few months, sometimes they die after a few tests.
Get an adapter (or make one) that connects to the OBD port you will always have power and ground there. You can also use that adapter for other purposes like connecting the car to an extra battery while you replace the old one so you don't loose any memory settings in the car. I was just discovering this channel now and it is absolutely tailor made for me. 👍
that very cool .you always find or make good thing.i never did yet that amazing scope .now that i am retired i will plane to do it got so part but not all .thanks

Don’t go cheap, get the Autel PS100 a powerful power probe.
Really nice tool and with those custom Modifications even easier to do testing,
With that price it is a nice investment👍🏼

yep, that would work:)
Always love your stuff. I have a power probe. Many times more costly.
thx Bill:)
Same here. Both have benefits.
Hi Sir could you fit a voltmeter in it?
this is a budget probe and is quite good at what it does
there are similar but higher priced units with voltmeter display
Hello. Does this show power on none bare wires too or only bare connection?
it could pierce through the insulation of a wire, if that is your question...
Have one, here to learn how to use it.
Дякую за відео! Thanks!

Hi, is it suitable to activate my jeep rad fan to see if it works?
this probe can carry 7.5A without tripping
I've often thought about those tools but have never pulled the trigger. $18 I think is worth the gamble
it is:)
My own 18 smackaroos😅
Que loco por le le cortaste el cable caiman de tierra 😮
no te preocupes
todavía queda el terreno principal
simplemente no ese pequeño clip para una característica que no usaré
😮 cutting off ground wire , not good
I don't need it, nor want it
but it's a personal choice and feel free to keep it:)
