I wondered why the late reaction... Fun movie but still this is one of the 90% war movies that glorify it... not an antiwar movie in any sence of the word which is not a good thing, War is the worst our civilization has developed and must be not glorified, just watch the shit we are witnessing today in 2024... unbelievable.

A lot of the original film was cut from the final released version. I would highly recommend searching out (on UA-cam) those edited scenes. Gordo's 'breakfast speech,' for instance, was Oscar worthy incredible.
