Is it WORTH YOU finishing these Nintendo Switch Games? | Battling the BACKLOG!

- Опубліковано 25 чер 2024
- With frequent Nintendo eShop sales and bargains to be found on physical games, it's hard not to buy more games than you could ever realistically play, let alone finish. In this series, I try to make a small dent in the backlog by finishing a few games off and detailing my experiences of each. Please do let me know of any games you have finished recently. What games are on the list? Well, let's find out...

Happy gaming! Glen
Golden Axe 2 in easy mode. Lol. Games are hard to complete these days... Especially when there’s so many to get through. I think I’m close to finish Pokémon Legends Arceus, Star Ocean SSR, Crash 4 (forget about 100% on that game they are taking the piss with the difficulty) although I do like the Game.
Finished Hogwarts Legecy a few weeks back and am now working my way through Morbid: Lords of Ire. Been fun discussing strategies with my brother as he plays it too elsewhere.😊
My son is 11 now but when he was 6 he beat Cuphead. My wife isn't in to video games at all but she couldn't help but watch cause it was incredible. I was taking notes. Lol !! Watching him made the game easier for me. Still blown away by that.
Amazing and beautiful.
My backlog is ever growing. It's become like a nightmare, you know where you're trying to get to the end of the corridor to open that door but it keeps on going, you start running towards the door but the corridor keeps on expanding untill you wake up sweating........yeah that's what it feels like 😂
Oh I know that one for sure. Mark
Over a year later, and I am still playing the same and only game I have played in the past year - TOTK. Bloody Zelda is huge!
Love Vampire Survivors! Currently enjoying its Contra based “Adventure” mode.
I must say, watching your gameplay of the turtles game was wonderful. I’m awful at beatemups but I still love them
Congrats on finishing Vampire Survivors. The ending is really satisfying.
My backlog has a backlog at this point.
Just finish "Tails of Iron" and "Tinykin" this weekeend. Both really good games. actually Tinykin is freakin Amazing!!!! it the better version of a Pikmin style game. the movement (surfing a bar of soap) and the audio and sound track are amazing!!!!!!
Not going to lie I haven't eaten or even got up because I started Hauntii. Omg I have goosebumps from just everything. The music is unreal, the art style and the actual gameplay. This is what I call a quality game. Might not even talk to my partner tonight 😂😂
At least make yourself a cup of tea, Jesus.
@Wil_Dsense Blerugh tea 🤣🤣 I have a cold cider and some Mac N Cheese. Now to keep going 💪
I pretty much turned into Cartman from the wow episode, “Mom!!! Bathroom!!!!”
Is it that good? Oh my, I can’t keep up, I still need to play Stitch!
@melaniapina6368 Between the both of them I'm feeling chill haha. Exactly what I needed. I'm going to find the Hauntii soundtrack and listen to it, it's that good.
Sad to see the new TMNT game wasn't as good as I had hoped. But I do always appreciate your perspective.
There's another TMNT game due in October I think, perhaps that might be better. I hope so, as I really enjoyed Shredders Revenge.
@@jesssealey6552 I did too. Amazing game. Hopefully the next one will be fantastic
Shredders revenge has that smaddictive quality that kept me coming back. Great party game with 6 player options too!
I recently went back to Hades after giving up a few years a go; it's taken me 50+ runs (60ish% on God Mode) to finally reach Styx. I also went back and gave Hollow Knight another stab - I managed to farm 220 souls and feel relatively accomplished.
...
Annnnd then I noticed that Dredge was on sale. So I'm now running headfirst into cosmic horror, rather than banging said head against the proverbial wall because of my ineptitude at roguelites.
I finished RDR1 recently and started Dragon Quest 3 and Coromon. I had to take a break from DQ3. It’s a bit of a slog but Ill finish it eventually. Coromon is a blast. I am also going through the Godzilla DLC in Dave the Diver as well. Such a fun game.
Didn’t complete anything as usual but this series is so enjoyable!
And my daughter is currently obsessed with that Ninja Turtles 2012 show you’re talking about, so we are all watching it 😅
Well done on beating Vampire Survivor and Cuphead!
I was disappointed to hear that after you beat Mario vs Donkey Kong you still couldn't play as the titular character, seems such a silly thing for Nintendo to have not included!
I'm currently doing a second playthrough of FE Engage and am loving it so much! Up next: Hauntii
Ooo I was wondering when the next one of these would drop. Congratulations Glen, on tackling your backlog and winning a few rounds. I'm working through Morbid: Lords of Ire, I think I'm only halfway through, its been a mixed bag but enjoyable. Cheers SwitchUp.
You've been busy! I recently came back to Superhot and ended up beating it... now working on the extra content and also the sequel on Steam.
Nicceee good job on finishing these the back log is always huge hahah I beat unicorn overlord and Bdsp . Every got that Back log KEEP UP THE BACKLOG FIGHT 😊
I like to feel ive accomplished some great things in gaming and completing cuphead is in the top 5 for sure. Well done
Vampire Survivors might be my favorite pick-up-and-play game of all time at this point, right up there with Tetris, if not one of my absolute favorites of any genre.
Having a backlog is a first for me. That is what I love about the Switch's eshop. I can get discounts on digital games from time to time. Physical games are hardly ever, if ever, on sale down here.
Cheers.
Finished up Sea of Stars last week. Absolutely brilliant game.
I took a stab at my ever growing backlog before Paper Mario released and in the 3 weeks beforehand I managed to complete Dodgeball Academia, Little Kitty, Big City, Cavern of Dreams & Lake. All great little games. Dodgeball Academia being the highlight of the bunch... And would never have found out about it if it wasn't for you mentioning it an older vid, Glen! So cheers for that 👍
Mario vs Donkey Kong should be $15 game.
Vampire Survivors is a gem that you have to pick up. The DLCs are very good as well. On Emergency Meeting as we type 😂😂😂
Vampire survivors looks like a good train time passer before work. Cheers, thanks Jed
If you have an half hour, then it is a great time :)
Well worth a try if you're on the fence 🙂
I just finished 1000XResist a few nights ago and man. I won't lie and say I understood the entire story but I also couldnt put the controller down. Every time I thought the game was over they smacked me over the head with something else.
I finally received my physical version of eiyuden chronicle last week and I can't stop playing it, I'm 33 hours in and the performance is better than I expected. I only had 1infinite loading screen and 1 script not starting to recruit someone but loaded my save and it fixed it. I just got the teleportation but I spend too many time with the beigoma story.
I've gotten to knock SOMA, Figment 2, and 2 out of 3 of the main endings in Hollow Knight off the backlog. Plenty of other games still in progress, but the backlog will always live on.
Wow, finishing Cuphead. Maybe, one day... I'm at a boss a year rate
I’ve recently finished Cuphead and the DLC on an expert difficulty. Now, I’m aiming at the S rank, but honestly, some of the bosses seem to be literally unbeatable without losing that one hp. I think I’ll have to use extra lives tip. However, I’m a persistent fan of this gem, and hopefully my objective will come to a happy end.
Likewise, those S ranks are no joke
I've still got the 80s sensibility of squeezing EVERY last drop out of that ONE NES game you'd get that year... but I don't reckon I'll ever 100% Skyrim or Xenoblade...
So my backlogs not that long. But it has GIRTH! (and I've heard that's more important)
I can't get enough of Vampire Survivors. After completing the game, I've found myself revisiting the game fairly often and checking off a handful of the challenges at a time, and it's still a fantastic time.
And with yet another dlc, just added, too, incredible value 😀
It's so damn good mate
Not going to lie. Wrath of the Mutants has become a guilty pleasure title for me.
Playing through it on hard mode (where it's actually challenging & you have to learn the levels rather than blindly mash through) made me appreciate it much more & I felt I got my money's worth.
Although it's not as good as the other TMNT brawlers available on Switch, I find myself firing it up for a quick run through occasionally just like the original arcade games.
Finished Wildfire, today. Picked it up on sale a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic.
Currently addicted to Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Awesome time for puzzle games: Animal Well, and Crow Country (needs a Switch Port) are recent ones I’ve completed.
If you like Beat em up there is one quite unknown I thought it was good fun "Mother Russia bleeds". Lovely to see the genre back in the game, innit?
So i just finished morbid ires based and bought on your review. What a wonderful Bloodborne souls oh I'll be different here game. Love ya byee
I have recently finished Sword of Vagrant and now I am close to finish Morbid Lords of Ire. Good games! I am a picky gamer 😉
I’m currently playing the takeover it was a quick beat ‘em up but it is one of my favorites
I think I will lose my sanity before I will ever be able to finish Cuphead. That game is not easy… 😅
I’ve learned it’s ok to say “I did my best, but this just isn’t for me” regarding some games. It only took me almost 40 years haha.
Felix the cat was my first ever game to finish. It took me 3 hours on Christmas and a lot of months of training, maybe years
Been having a blast with Sea of Stars, while my wife is playing(and loving) Princess Peach Showtime
Cuphead proved too challenging for me at the time I played it, but I've yet to give it another shot. Felix the cat is a cartoon I'd watch as a child but the game didn't appeal to me much for its price.
I had no idea vampire survivors had a ending. I maybhavd to revisit it
I still need to finish Mario vs donkey Kong as well
I really want that turtle game but will wait for a sale
I have a huge backlog of games mainly because of eShop sales too good too pass up. My problem lately is making time for them or just being in the right mood for certain types of games. Lately I haven't been in the mood for playing bright colorful happy games like Mario games. I've just been stuck in the mood to sporadically play very dark/bleak/strange/weird/surreal nightmare-like kind of games. 😱😵💫😵
Hey SwitchUp, just letting you know that your reviews playlist has some random movie and arm wrestling video in it around the 7-8 months ago uploaded videos. Look for borderlands 3 and wargroove 2 reviews. Cheers!
Woohoo! My backlog is slowly getting smaller.
Quick, better pile on some more. 😁
I have like 12 survivors games exceptttt vampires. I should probably get on that now 😅😅
Prince of Persia Lost Crown was good, but I feel like it doesn’t have the staying power of the Sands of Time trilogy which I beat numerous times.
Just got Persona 4 Golden through LRG and it has been a doozy to get through. I had to put it down for a bit and i actually just beat Pikmin 1, which i had never played before! Really short and sweet game overall (well, compared to Persona) and I can't wait to play Pikmin 2!
I'm SO jealous you cleared 6 games from your backlog...
My latest Clear was Bayonetta 3, which was pretty good, even though I think I enjoyed 2 more. But it felt good having now beat the entire triology.
And my latest Give Up went to Dragon Quest 11, which I realized after about 15 hours was simply too mediocre to spend further time on. Which was painful because I bought it at full price for some reason.
About Vampire Survivors, I unlocked and beat both the Adventure modes, is that it, or is there a third way to beat it?
I can never thank yall enough for Y’s 8 lacrimosa of dana so many years ago!
I wanted to like Cuphead, but the bosses are just so spongy.
I’ve got a few games that I want to finish that I stopped playing when I hit a spike in the game. Problem is, I’m so far into the game and it’s been a while that I’ve forgotten the game play mechanics. Probably never finish them
I just finished a Star Wars knights of the old republic playthrough, probably like my 30th 😂😂😂
Being from the southeastern US, I also had a thick accent thanks to my parents. I just wish I could decipher whether you were saying free or three.
I knocked Little Kitty, Big City off the backlog. But that’s hardly an achievement like Cuphead is
I really like Mario vs Donkey Kong, but I'd just finished a replay of the GBA original the same week the Switch version was announced. -_-
I have more games I need to play than I have years left, I need EXCEL spreadsheets to plan everything.
Played and Finished hollow knight after hearing so much good things about it. Yes I did enjoy it but also once I did the first ending I left it as is. Just couldn’t bring my self to endure it any longer. After I played Spiritfarer have mixed feelings as I felt they put all the meaningful moments in the first half of the game and after I started not really caring for the rest and as soon as I was given the possibility to finish the story I did. Overall good games but won’t likely replay.
...wait, vampire survivor has an ending...huh...kinda pick it up and put it on the backlog...
...cuphead, ah....another on my backlog...
I'm playing gimmick which I recently bought in a sale
As soon as I saw “Game Mill” were publishing that turtles game I was out…
Vampire Survivors is free on mobile, I did trail it for Switch but it feels too convoluted & obtuse to complete
yes but, did you complete the DLCs?
they are not free, they are $3 btw
AAAYYYOOO!
I know this isn't related to any game in the video but it's been on my mind lately so i have to say it, when i got Tears of the Kingdom last year, i found it boring so i put it down for a while, i tried to start it again recently and it just doesn't have the same magic Breath of the Wild had for me so i put it down, anyway, i went back to Breath of the Wild after i put TOTK down and i still love Breath of the Wild, it's weird that i still love Breath of the Wild but i don't like TOTK, why is that, i honestly don't know why (Breath of the Wild is still my favourite game on Switch)
You know what? I know exactly what you mean. Mark
I "recently" (more like a month or so ago) finished Persona 5 Royal and Super Mario RPG
great games
Try devine Divinity sins 2 For Switch best Game Worth
I finished Bustafellows. It is a dark visual novel Otome game. It is set in USA in the town of "New Seige", where there is a mayor problem with illegal immigration/Human trafficking. It was a great story and had me crying at the end. But the localization is shit. It is in Japanese, with English subs, but they only translated the written parts. Which is bad, because there are parts of the story which is only told "verbally", which includes the ending credit scenes. So if your Japanese listening skills is not up to anime-without-subs watching-standards then you should not get this game. Which is a shame for the Otome genre.
HAVE YOU PLAY WEB3WAR? VERY GOOD GAME 😊😊❤
