You legend 🙌🏻
@@AeonGreyh Thanks, makes me happy it could help you.
@@MFJMD564 It really did! What’s your top 3 on this list?
@@AeonGreyh I like Afflatus, Cinematic Studio Strings the most, but I was puzzled by the Synchron VSL demo. Synchron Strings 1 sounds really awful to me, but the more modern Strings Pro and Strings Elite sounded much better. I've never liked VSL before, but they might have improved their samples. They sound less cinematic, but that might be what some people need. However, when I listen to other demo of the same libraries, I have different impressions sometimes. What I prefer are blind shootouts, but the interface and ease of use is also important.
@@MFJMD564 Yeah I wasn’t a big fan of the Synchron stuff either but Afflatus, CSS and MSS are absolutely fantastic
Thanks a lot ! Layering the lush of CSS with the realistic warmth transition of MSS would definitely be stunning.
Thanks for making this. Would be really nice to add chapters to this, so its easy to flick back and forth between different libraries.
You're welcome. If you or someone else categorized them I'll add it to the description if you like.
I've added them in a comment. Bill will probably add them to the description.
That's a lot of libraries - thank you. Symphobia seems to hold up very well still.
Yes it does!
00:27 Areia
01:27 Afflatus
02:08 MSS
02:49 SSS
06:27 Cinematic Strings (2)
11:45 Albion One
15:07 Lumina
17:27 Synchron Strings Pro
Thank you so much! Super useful. My favorites were at:

Glad it was helpful!
Great idea for a video, and lovely execution! Got to say that Afflatus and Modern Scoring Strings are in a separate league with polyphonic legato. You might want to check out 8Dio New Century Strings as well, so you can bump it up to 30 libraries :P
Yes, I don't regret paying for Modern Scoring strings at all. Great legato and SO much control over the sounds, it is worth getting fluent with. Amazing how many libraries are represented here. Spitfire's BBC and Abbey Rd strings ought to be in the mix, though obviously I can't expect that Bill would own every single thing out there. Also, with the libraries all sharing the exact same cc1 info, we can't expect each library is performing its best. This is great for judging much of the basics sounds and legato. Good old LASS 2 holds up very well. I liked the Synchron Strings Pro a lot and some of the OT libraries, too, neither of which I own.
Good call!
I don't think BBC and Abbey Rd have an ensemble patch.
8 dio is damn good
@@paulrucker1889mss did sound very smooth. I'm toying with buying it but will have to upgrade my HD. Would love if the extended had the ostinato engine but it doesn't!
CSS from Australia is my recommendation to anyone in doubt, the after sales service is just awesome and they gave everyone a free upgrade to their newest version, their prices are reasonable, I was happy when I bought it but the true joy came in the second turn with their great never stopping support for even small budget clients like me, I can recommend it. And I also have VSL Synchron Strings (won it with a contest), East West but Cinematic Studio Strings is my recommendation to people who are having a hard time to choose ! It's fast, easy to work with and affordable.
It seems, that mostly all comes to CSS in the end. Great Library
MSS and Afflatus are allways my go to libraries and i own aeverything you showed here except for the OT
Think how much money we could have saved it we wen't so passionate about composing music! I've added a dozen or so since then. Time to do a follow up video.
@@BillMcFadden please do some OT comparission as i am thinking to get some but not decided yet wich one, thanks
@@tibispeedoMacale I can, remind me if you can in a week or so..
Thanks Bill
You're welcome!
Most realistic one is modern scoring strings, nice vid bro
Thanks!
Wow, that's a really big financial investment getting all these libraries. Hope you got some review copies.
From time to time.
Modern scoring strings sounds good, but its way too big in GB, my choice goes to Albion one :)
you forget Nucleus and the other one by audio imperia I guess
Jaeger?
@@Po1itica11yNcorrect besides eager one more library let me check and get back
@@Po1itica11yNcorrect ariea is the one I was talking about
@@DJAlone Ahhhh, okay. Forgot about that one. Have you tried it? If so, is it any good? I have both Nucleus and Jaeger. They're decent but I wouldn't put either one in my top 5 favs.
@@Po1itica11yNcorrect are you into music bro?😮 BTW the ariea is almost 90% same sounds from Jaeger.
