    Another great item from Bunnings is irrigation drip tubing. I use it for all my airlines. It’s cheap comes in black and seems to last a lot longer than regular aquarium airline tubing

    I like those HPM timers too. They are nice and slim so don't cover too many outlets on power boards.

    Hey mate did you know if you have the hose plugged in and you put it in a tank, then pull it out of where it’s plugged into, it just starts siphoning? Just because you said you used a pump for water changes

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  Рік тому

      Yeah for sure but gravity syphoning through a 13mm hose takes all day to drain ~3kL or 4kL

    Hey Blake. You can get Plywood from Bunnings that is already 600mm wide which when cut to the correct length will fit the "1000kg Rack It" system. Bunnings will even give you 1 cut for free. (Well they did for me.) It will not stop the bowing though. My tanks are 450x450x450mm so bowing is not a problem for me. Much better than the rather flimsy MDF panels I reckon. It is 2250x600x32mm for $62.

    Great tips again Blake. Gotta love Bunnings. On the bulkhead, look in the outdoor section near the water tanks. The rain bird brand are heaps cheaper than the ones in the plumbing section. They don't come in super large sizes but you could double up if needed. Can't remember what they call them, tank outlet or something. Another tip I have come up with is making a water change fitting using 19mm poly pipe and fittings. Again, the rain bird fittings are heaps cheaper than the pope brand. U can usually get a pack of them for basically the same as a single pope fitting. If you take a hose connector, a length of pvc, and two elbows you can make a U shaped device that makes water changes easy. Just clicks into your garden hose. Fill the hose with water, hook the u shape device over your tank, disconnect the hose at the tap end and gravity will do the rest. U can add a tap fitting in to the assembly also to allow you to swap between tanks without losing your siphon. U can also easily set the depth u want to drain to by rotating the length of poly pipe in the tank. I live in North Queensland so can also fill my tanks with the same hose as water temp is usually fine.

      Yep I wouldnt survive without my pvc waterchangers 🤣 life savers for sure. Cheers
