Agbaletu, hope you're doing great. Please, look for somebody that has a first hand history of Prince Adekunle. I learnt he died in an accident but his father asked his corpse to be brought to him and he woke him up in his church in Ketu, how true could this be? You're doing fantastically well thumbs up for you

Great interview. Learnt a lot, but one observation: while it is true that Ọja'ba in Ibadan has nothing to do with ọba, the concept of Ọjà ọba actually predates the founding of Ibadan itself. The guest may be right about one or two towns naming their markets using the Ibadan model, but it's incorrect to say that every Ọjàba in Yorùbáland is named after the one in Ìbàdàn. Rárá o.
Yorùbá towns have always had what's called Ọjaba (royal market or king's market). As a matter of fact, it's one of the most important institutions in every Yoruba town after the palace which is the seat of government. Kindly see "A History of the Yoruba" by Stephen Adebanji Akintoye.

you are right... there are lots of ancient towns/villages that came before ibadan, their oja oba is usually around the palace
