- This Upanishad is part of the Shatapatha Brahmana of the Shukla or the White Yajur Veda. Its name literally means ' Great Forest of Knowledge'. It is thus a great reservoir of knowledge as it touches on and covers almost all aspects of human life. It has three parts called Kandas which are further divided into chapters and sections called Brahmanas. The Upanishad has three Kandas, Madhu Kanda, Muni Kanda and Khila Kanda. Each of these Kandas has two chapters. Madhu Kanda has twelve Brahmanas, Muni Kanda has fifteen and Khila Kanda has Twenty Brahmanas.
The Upanishad contains many concepts and well known verses. The Great Saying " Aham Brahm Asi" meaning I am Brahm occurs here. The concept of " Neti, Neti", meaning " Not this, not this", the process of trying to define the Great and Unexplainable Brahm through the process of negation is also found here since Brahm cannot be brought under any positive definition.
The Upanishad is presented in fifteen parts . The first six parts are consist of the Introduction and Madhu Kanda, the next six are the Muni Kanda, and the last three are the Khila Kanda.

Brahm toh Vishva ki Atma hai, it is the soul of the world, of the entire creation. Usi Brahm say srishti nikalti aur phailti hai aur usi Brahm mein jakar vah phir vileen ho jati hai, usme jakar merge ho jati hai. Very Simply put Brahm is the ALMIGHTY ALL POWERFUL GOD.

I still couldn't figure out,, what that ashav really is , is it our relation to this world.
As I understand it the Asvamedha or horse sacrifice is symbolically supposed to be a contemplation Brahm, the Supreme, where the various parts of the horse are compared to the cosmic phenomena and bodies that are but representations of some of the aspects of the limitless Brahm.
I heard in a explanation that aswva is symbolic to kingdom(just like the horse travels without any obstacle worldwide,the kingdom will also be spread worldwide and that particular king performing the yaggya will be the owner of the whole world),medh means prosperity.so aswvamedh yaggya means the yaggya that is performed for the prosperity of the kingdom.Similarly Go means prithvi(aside from other 8 meaning),nara means human.so gomedh,naramedh yaggya means yaggya that is performed for the prosperity of prithvi and humankind.
