I saw this video a year ago and "just happened" to see it again now. The first time I sent a comment I wrote amazing Thank you. Now I will tell you why I was amazed. I for years whenever I hear an ambulance I immediately say a perek tehillim. And I say that it should be a refuah shlaima for whoever that ambulance has in them or is going to help if it is a Jew . Since seeing this video I have alot more kavana. Also I never knew if it had an effect my perek tehillim but I figured I had nothing to lose .Thank you again. We should be zoche to the geula shlaima bkarov!
As a baal teshuva, I was very far from hashem, so I know the greatness of torah. Only one who was in complete darkness can appreciate light, only a starving man can appreciate food. As someone who has background in music, I like to say torah is like the guitar fretboard. In music theory, there is a mathematical system to produce certain notes that are melodious and sound good. But sometimes, an artist can create a song that does not follow music theory, but it still sounds amazing. What am I trying to say? When it comes to learning torah, a talmid has to understand the concept to extract the light. Especially in learning gemara, this can be a very strenuous process that can make our hair turn grey. This is like the musician that follows the exact principles of music theory to produce his sound. Tehillim is like a free gift. It is not dependent upon understanding, but rather just on saying the words. David Hamelech gave us a guaranteed way to connect to hashem and even attain ruach hakodesh, and all that has to be said is the words. this is like the musician that can pull a song from the atmosphere without following any rules. I find when I say more tehillim, I have more clarity to understand the other parts of torah that are dependent upon logical comprehension.
