- I was in Asda today and saw this product in the Reduced Cabinet ! it should have been £3.00 and it was reduced to £2.01 p so I bought it to review ! So what was it like ?
In my opinion these were very nice fishcakes ! the taste of the fish and prawns was evident and the fishcakes were quite dense ! however I could not taste the Root Vegetables - they were very tasty indeed - the Sauce was ok but for me personally they did not really need it ! the sauce had the sweetness of the Tomatoes and a gentle chilli hit which was nice - the only thing for me was that they left a greasy film on the palate - I would buy them again however and I score them 7 out of 10 - Розваги

Hiya Graham, Did anyone notice that the Vampire was trying to get a bite (LOL). Excellent review. Just to say My favourite show was "True Blood" and my Dad loves "What we do in the Shadows". Look forward to tomorrow.
Oh and by the way please do a Desert Island T-Shit. The 10 you would take with you.

I love What we do in the Shadows it is a great film - True Blood I only saw a few of them and I agree it was good ! my favourite is the Vampire Journals which was a forerunner of Interview with a Vampire which is also an amazing film ! have you seen The Shadow of the Vampire ? that is also very good indeed ! - Desert Island Tee shirts sounds a great idea I may well do that later today ! best wishes from West Yorkshire - have a lovely Tuesday :-)
They do look rather tasty and I myself absolutely love Prawns~ If I'm ever about ASDA, will have a peep around for them! Nice review.

Hi Graham - they look fab - clever way to get more veg in your diet - strange they were so greasy for something supposed to be healthy and ASDA are never over generous with their reductions Cheers Paul
Good Morning Paul, thank you for the comment - there are a lot of ways to get veg in to meals ! when I worked in Mental Health we did it a lot ! this product did leave a greasy film in the mouth though which was not brilliant and the sauce for me personally was a total mismatch ! the reduced section was overflowing perhaps they need to be a bit more generous in their reductions ? have a great day my Friend :-)
Good evening graham when I first looked at them I thought you would be saying hey were dry! Maybe why they have the sauce to go with them . Glad you enjoyed them 😊. I’m having Asda’s mixed salami and cheese salad for my meal later. Xx
Good Morning Andrea, thank you for the comment - they were quite dense to be honest but not really dry ! the sauce for me just didnt work with them ! I quite like the Salami and Cheese platters - the best ones I have had are from Lidl and Aldi - have a lovely Tuesday :-) XX
I love a fishcakes. But working in a chippy put me off fish.
I'm not there anymore so I'm slowly getting back to fish. But I'd rather a parsley sauce. Greetings from a wet Holyhead.
Good Morning Tudor, thank you for the comment - It must be difficult to enjoy fish when you work with it ! I have had some surprising moments with wet fish and the Worms that were in it ! I hear that all fish has worms in it but I always hope that the fishmonger would remove them first ! but it is not always the case - I agree parsley sauce would have been far better than the sauce which came with this for me personally it was a total mismatch - Greetings from a very Rainy Shire ! have a great day on the Island :-)
Unfortunately not for me Graham because of the prawns, and it didn't look appetizing it looked like a fuel for a log burner I like my fish cakes just plain fish, potatoe and parsley either in bread crumbs or batter my local chippy is a Chinese takeaway and in all honesty they do brilliant fish savouries as they call them big chunks and fish potatoes and parsley in crispy batter cooked fresh to order brilliant with chips and mushy peas or on a buttered bap 👍👍
Good Morning Robert , thank you for the comment - I know Prawns are not to everyone's taste - They did look like log burner fuel I agree but they did taste nice - the sauce for me was a total mismatch and for me did not work at all ! I agree with you about fishcakes ! I like them as simple as it comes ! the cheap ones from Aldi are amazingly good ! have a great day my Friend :-)
