Great video! I moved to Ogden with my parents and brother when I was two from Baltimore Maryland. have lived here ever since and I think it’s beautiful I’m reading a lot of comments about drugs and gangs. in Ogden’s Defense all I can say is birds of a feather flock together. keep the videos coming.
Tim, I knew your Grandmother. I delivered the Ogden Standard Examiner newspaper to her and grew up directly through the block on Darling Street. I remembered your Grandmother had a lynx and it scared me to death each time I would go newspaper bill collecting in the late 1960s. She and my Mother were good friends. I know Gene.
This is the first time since the mid 60s that I laid my eyes on this beautiful town.Progress has caught up with ogden cause I have watched the video two times and there is not places that i can remember with the exception of the train station.Since I seen this video, there is an urge growing inside of me to visit the place where I spent must of my youth.Great memories, great people, lots of friends. Thanks
Man that was a great tour of Ogden Utah!! It’s so big. I hardly ever get out of my small town Carmine, Texas only has like 200 people here so nice to see a new state. I love all the snow and mountains!!
That’s funny, because Ogden doesn’t seem too big. Compared to 200 people, it’s a metropolis. I moved here from a town of 3000, so I know what you mean.
Really cool video, Tim! I'm actually up in PV, but I usually just say I live in Ogden. I love walking 25th Street on the weekends and visiting Lavender Vinyl and eating at Craftburger. I learned a few things from your video, since I've only been in Utah since 2018. Ogden is definitely a neat place. Although I have my gripes with Utah and really miss Washington state, I'm glad I ended up in the Ogden area of all places in Utah. I just love the artsy, historic vibe in Weber County compared to other areas of the state.
Dude, thank you for this awesome tour. I'm moving to Hill AFB and Ogden in 2024 and I cannot wait. I'm from New England and have been living in Virginia for 7 years. I can't believe how awesome Utah is! Can't wait to move out there.
I moved to Utah from Va as well. Langley to be specific...I currently work at Hill and man I tell ya, if your into the outdoors, you will love this place...crime is very low compared to Va
My first visit to U.S was to Ogden, Utah 😍😍😍stayed for three months and i wish i had known people to show me around while i was there, but anyways...most definitely will save up to visit again. Thank you for the vid.
Great tour Tim! I have lived in Ogden since 2015 and I love it. My grandma used to visit her sister in Ogden when I was a kid and I loved visiting from Tooele. Always felt like a great place and I love living here.
I was born and raised here but I've lived out East for about 20 years. This was an awesome video and it made me nostalgic. Thanks for the great content.
22:03 There’s my home… behind that building in the right. I was born in Payson because they were remodeling the Springville hospital in ‘69. We moved to Heber when I was a month old, shortly after my grandpa died. My dad built three *Mr G’s Gas & Goodies* - two in Salt Lake and the one in Heber. My grandma (f) lived in Springville her whole life. My grandpa (m) lived in Salt Lake and my grandma (m) lived in North Ogden. We moved to Mountain View & Lyman, WY (Fort Bridger Airport) when I turned five and moved to Ogden when I turned 19.
I MISS OGDEN MYSELF. I MOVED AWAY BACK IN MID 60'S AFTER GRADUATING FROM BEN LOMOND HIGH. I HAVE BEEN WATCHING SEVERAL UA-cam VIDEOS LATELY ABOUT OGDEN'S HISTORY. I LOVED WATCHING YOUR VIDEO FOR SOME OF THE HISTORY I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT LIKE THE OGDEN MALL, I DON'T REMEMBER ABOUT AND THE OGDEN SIGN OVER WASHINGTON. ALSO, I USE TO CLIMB AND HIKED TO THE PEAKS FROM MORGAN CANYON TO MT. BEN LOMOND. I ALSO, CAMPOUT THERE IN THE MOUNTAINS. I REALLY DID LIKE YOUR VIDEO. MAKE SOME MORE VIDEOS WITH MORE HISTORY IF YOU CAN IN THE FUTURE. THANKS.
Hmmm I grew up in Ogden in the 70s. Grew up on Jefferson street by the Ogden library (Lester park). It’s a great place. Been all over usa and I still love Ogden utah the best...
I moved here in 1988 from Spokane,WA and personally I really like it here,I've had a really good time here, never had any problem with any body or.anything love it here
Thank you for making this video. I’m moving to Ogden from Northern Colorado in about 4 months and don’t know anyone there. I’m 73 and somewhat nervous about being able to make friends out there. I sure hope I grow to love Ogden as much as I love where I live now.
I bought a station wagon for 175$ from Ogden an it got me to Pensacola Florida.i miss my home state utah. Thanks for the videos.enjoy utah some miss it🙏😄
I'm 48 I have lived in Ogden my whole life.. Ben lomond high was my high school..the old stop and shop the old grand central and Ogden mall days..I've always loved the mountains I look at them everyday ..love my Ogden
Thank you for featuring Ogden and defending it. My father grew up there and my family have been there since around 1850. My grandfather worked at Farrs Ice Cream right after WWll. You probably dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of weeks =)
I moved to Ogden in 2009. I have to be honest I was really nervous about moving here because I heard about it's bad reputation but because of my divorce it's where I could afford to buy a home. I have loved my time living here! I live in the historic area. I guess it's what you make of it. I have the best neighbors and we get together often especially in the summer for dinners. I have loved doing some volunteer work here. It was fun learning more about trains from the visitors around the world during the sesquicentennial of the transcontinental railroad, helping during the Home Makeover show and the farmer's market, Harvest festival and Christmas parade. I raised my boys in Sandy so it's great being as close to the mountains. I also like that it's close to SLC and on days that I usher at the theaters there I can take the Frontrunner and Trax to the venue downtown and back. The price of real estate is going crazy and we're seeing more people from SLC moving here. There are some really good restaurants and I like that in Ogden you may have the chain fast food places but otherwise it's local restaurants. Anyone that says we don't have good places to eat probably hasn't tried a lot. Some can be pricey but there's a good restaurant scene.
Definitely do another video when the trees are in bloom or during the fall colors so people can see the beautiful "tree tunnels" in our neighborhoods... And go up the trails to show the landscape views. The park on Buchanan just north of 21st (Thomas Park) gives a beautiful view, especially at sunset.
I love this town state the whole thing I miss O-town so much moved away from there 3 months ago and I had to pause it because I wanted to see the mountains. I really miss it there.
Just want to throw out a couple more movies that have some history in Ogden. The gas station scene in dumb and dumber was filmed right where you started your video just off I-15 on 24th. Gas station is no longer there though. 3 o’clock high was filmed at Ogden high school, the big fight scene at the end they even invited a lot of students to be a part of. The sandlot was also filmed just off the Ogden river at the old rodeo stadium on 16th street. I always like to show those spots to people when they come and visit :)
Ogden high was build towards the end of the depresion it cost 1 million dollars to build it was seen as a new begining! The rail station kept Ogden alive! Then came DDO which was a millitary base! Now it's a business depot! Ogden has had a pretty big history! It has also grown with the times & changes in order to keep the economy working! Everwood my mom & step grandmother were actually in that as they were walking on 25th street that day! They have both passed away now! 💖💖💖💖💖💖
As beautiful Ogden can be, there is a big drug and gang problem there. Few of my friends have died two of them happened at the same house... I used to be an addict lived in Ogden, I am almost 7 years clean and im proud I got out of that town and mess it has in it. One thing I can never get away from though is the taco lady infront of the municipal building 😂😂 love her tacos.
Congrats on your sobriety. I definitely don't want to sweep the negative under the rug, so I appreciate your comment. Every town has its own set of problems. Those tacos are next level though.
Well down town has alot of gang & drug activity & even here north was gang central! But, Ogden's gang injunction stopped most of the gang activity! And Drug's well every city has that problem but Ogden is a pretty good sized city not really as bad as some other places! Good for you getting Sober & Clean! I have many friend's & family who left here to do that too! Sadly they didn't make it! 💔💔💔💔💔💔
Anywhere you go, you can find problems. The experience you had, you were meant to learn and grow from. And I’m glad you did. Most people aren’t so lucky. In my experience, most of the people in Ogden are willing to help and reach out to the homeless, drug and gang communities, but for most of them, it’s a way of life. They were born into it, grew up with it, and will never leave it behind. It’s a choice, but Ogden is a different experience for everyone. You get more of what you focus on.

I was born in Ogden at the Old Dee Hospital on 24th and Harrison. I worked in downtown Ogden (First Security bank bldg) form many years. Sad thing, the jobs did not pay well, I ended up working in Salt Lake City for 30 years. Living in southern Davis county. I still have family in the Ogden area. I love coming back to Ogden and seeing how it has changed. It is growing up and now has a bigger population than ever before. It just needs more professional jobs and buildings downtown. I sure hope the new owner of the old bank bldg. can make it pop! Good luck Ogden.
How interesting. I sure hate to hear the grandpas bank isnt doing too good. But then again I always wondered why he walked away....im sure he had his reasons
On 26th st by Polk school. Then on taylor drive south stadium. @ 12:38 you drove past my house. Learned to ski at snow basin. Attended OHS for 2 yrs. Again thanks for the memories.
I enjoyed your video. Have a nice lives in ogden, I guess North Ogden right at the mouth of the Canyon. I do have a suggestion for a video for you to do. Go up to Willard and make a video of the Amish store there. I live in Payson, And we have taken many people up to that store because they are very interesting in the Amish ways. In fact I think I'm going up this coming Tuesday. I'm going to subscribe to your channel because I find you pretty interesting. Have a great weekend
I lived in Ogden for 5 years. In honestly I always thought Ogden was a old rundown town and encountered some the strangest ghetto creepy and rudest people I ever met. But 25th street and union station always reminded me of old Town Sacramento because I grew in Sacramento. I’ve been living in the suburb of Dallas for the past 5 years. Anyway great video. Hope you make more video’s about Ogden.👏
You spoke about the jail being on the top floor... my Grandfather was a police officer for 20 years in Ogden, then another 20 years in the Sheriff's Dpt... (retired from both). He was stabbed 5 times in the elevator transporting a prisoner upstairs at the jail. He lived to be 87 years old. : )
The boot legger tunnels do still exist plus fort buena ventura! Ogden has a huge history! It's also growing at an alarming rate now in 2021 tons of apartment building's being built! We now do not have enough grocery stores & most businesses have moved out of Ogden! Not many places to shop for clothes & things their all in Riverdale! But Riverdale is connected to Ogden! Plus you've missed alot on the north side of town? Lived here my whole life my parents have too! There's alot of change downtown from department stores to the Ogden mall to an outside mall! Out here where cherry orchard usto be! Is now a nature hike but for those of us who grew up here it's still Witches Hallow! 💖💖💖💖💖💖
I lived in Ogden in 1961-63. Loved living out west, from the Detroit area. My parents started College at Weber State. The public school teachers were on strike, so my mom enrolled us in St Paul Lutheran Church School. on Harrison Blvd. We lived a few doors down from the Eccles Art Center (a house back then I think) and would ride our bikes to school each day and my mom would ride hers to class also. Lived at the old Mill Stream Motel for a month till we got a house on Washington Blvd. Then we moved to Harrisville Road in the country. We moved back to Detroit when Thiokol laid my dad off. I hated moving back, loved Utah.
Thanks for the video. I'm moving up to the SLC area in May, and I was thinking of choosing Ogden. How easy is it to bike around the town? I didn't see many bike lanes in your video.
It's really easy. Although bike lanes aren't as plentiful as other cities you might be used to, Ogden has a decent biking scene. I go out and ride several times a week.
We moved to Pleasant View (North Ogden) in 2019. How come Weber is pronounced “Wee-ber” and not just “Weber” like it’s spelled? Just curious. I’ve learned how to say Weeber but after a year it’s still sounds off to me
I drove through Ogden the last few years for a convention in Salt Lake City. Man the homeless people in Salt lake was scary. People trying to follow me on the streets, calling out. Ogden seemed like a sleepy Norman Rockwell town. Snowville to Ogden miles of cones as they were fixing the roads.
@@tim_sessions no but I’m trying out a bunch of new states. Been in Florida my whole life. It’s paradise here, but I’ve looked at it forever it feels lol… love our gov.
Hey Tim, I'm headed to Ogden on the 3rd of Jan. 2022 for about a month for work. I should have sundays for exploring, so looking for some advice on some good photography/camping areas. I'm thinking of taking a drive down to Arches national park one Sunday, but I also have my pack and snowshoes all packed and ready for a few adventures. Any suggestions would be great. I was out there in 2015 around the same time but it was like spring that year with hardly any snow and warmer than usual temps from what I was told, so I'm not real sure on what to expect for weather. I probably over packed but I'd rather be prepared for cold and snow and not need it rather than the other way around. Great videos and thanks for any suggestions.
Definitely plan on colder temps, but we've had several mild winters. Glad you're here. Hope you are enjoying it. If you are looking to snowshoe, check out Wheeler Canyon or North Fork Park up in the valley. Those are good, quick half day trips.
Very Nice!! Love the Tour!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it

You spoke about the jail being on the top floor... my Grandfather was a police officer for 20 years in Ogden, then another 20 years in the Sheriff's Dpt...
(retired from both).
He was stabbed 5 times in the elevator transporting a prisoner upstairs at the jail.
He lived to be 87 years old. : )
What a legend! Thanks for sharing.
I know one of the security guards that works at the city building. I will ask him about it next time I see him!
My mother called it the million dollar high-school. She didn't go there it was on 25 and Monroe. That was the old Ogden high-school.
This was v dope thanks
You're welcome!
Tim..Thanks for the ride.☺Is the round table for train still there?
Great video. Wish to see a bit more of the driving though. See some of my walking videos from the area.

We are going to Ogden in February for 8 months for work. ❤
I hope you like it!
Kevin Costner! 😊 Nice country!
Sounds like you made the most of your time here. I can only imagine what Ogden was like in the 60's.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
great video I AM OLD NATIVE OGDEN STILL HERE
Legend!
You missed some cooler areas on your tour but it was alright. It's nice to know people who live here and love the historic value.
Next time, where did I miss? Ogden has so much to offer.
Sounds about right!
There are two seasons in Utah. Winter and construction.
What’s the stadium next to the movie theater?
The Ogden Raptors Professional Baseball Team
As a local I enjoyed the content. Lol.
Thanks, Ty!
Audio sounds fine to me!
Does Ogden get a lot of snow in the winter?
It can. Historically, yes, but lately they’ve been more mild, with last winter being the exception.
You missed Fort Beauna Ventura, Ogden Botanical Gardens and a few other fantastic places in Ogden.
Maybe I need to make a pt 2
@@tim_sessions That would be great. Like your style bro.

Edit: The Town I Live In
Hey Tim, I'm headed to Ogden on the 3rd of Jan.
Hi Tim my ancester William Joseph orchard headed out west in 1800s became a Mormon and eventually settled near Ogden
Oh cool! Ogden has a rich pioneer history. Thanks for sharing.
