Thank you, like someone else said, this is a great workaround for a program that should be able to do this easily anyway. THANK YOU. You saved me downloading more software to make a short clip!!
wow, I landed here feeling so blessed. I had been wondering if I could get this anywhere here r not but God was kind. prior to your video, I was watching others fail to get them but here I m done n now m gonna use them for my own next video.thanks
Great video, now I know how to edit mine. Thanks for sharing! However you may wanna reduce the volume of the music towards the end, the music suddenly becomes so loud, I had a heart attack and eardrums could have been injured. Your voice was really soft at the start, so naturally anyone would increase the volume level and when the music comes on later, it blasted. If you use iMovie, there is actually a way to adjust the volume by %. That’s what I do usually, when I make my tutorials, as sometimes the audio recordings may not have a balanced consistency in the volume levels
Me 3 years ago: *gamer who plays roblox and knows how to edit* Me now: *just finished watching RB Battles season 2 and wants to do what they do* THIS IS GREAT
Thanks so much Jasmine, all super clear. Wish you did more of these - it's so much better than others out there, including many produced by Apple... although I do agree with the comment about the music bursting in; almost catapulted me to the other side of the room :-))
Thanks for the video! Since you have to resize the images to fit this into four, is it possible to just take this idea and make it into a screen of 8? Just size the videos to fit 8 on the same screen?
if i were to do this with videos of people talking in each one like saying the same thing in each of the videos, would you be able to hear all of the audios or would only one video's audio play?
Thank You Jasmine , Perfect and just what i need to get started in my own Teaching Videos .. Hope you get a few more hits too as i share your channel with FB friends too ... Regards. John x
How about the quality/degradation after the process is complete? Does the 1st piece of the split screen get worse in quality by the end? Also, the audios. I see one can mute the audio portion of a track. But once you have it all assembled it would be too late? The audios for each of the 4 inserts would have audio built in. So, should one not mute every audio before assembly save for ONE audio you want? If you wanted to do music/voice over the entire project you could just mute the 4 way as a whole, but if you wanted the audio on ONE of the 4 ways you would have to selectively mute the other 3 scenes? Make sense?
I don’t think the quality gets worse but that depends on how you save the video (ie if you choose to save in a low quality way). As for the audio-it doesn’t really matter what order you mute it in.
@@MissSurvivor19 Thank you for both replies. It was something that had occurred about each video was having it's own audio. I guess you only have to make one mute of the assembled videos, so yes, you are right, if you save the last video to be the audio you want you can do 1 mute on the other combined video. My project is going to be one of those where there are 4 or 5 or 6 musicians playing on the same song, each from their own location, so in this case I WILL be using all the audios from each video. The SYNCING will be the problem. My iMovie is not real accurate to move audios. I have not found a way to line up frame by frame. When I have detached audios to try to sync with the video, one little move by the mouse could move it a half a second instead of 1 or 2 frames. I am using vers 10.0.6. I would imagine Final Cut would be way more accurate.
@@gregdavidson5898 I'm wondering if it would better to extract all the audios and work on them in something like Audacity. Then export the audio from Audacity and bring it back into iMovie for the last encoding? I haven't tried this, but it seems to me like it ought to work.
@@ChipZempel Sounds like a good idea. Kind of over dub the audio over the assembled videos. I should probably get a better quality software to do it. The Doobie Brothers have a "Black Water" video on youtube that has outstanding audio and video.
I can't believe that you have to save and reopen files to get the final product, but thank you so much for the tutorial it helped a lot!
I know this video is old, but you’re a genius. Thank you for the help!
Amazing workaround for a program that should really just be able to do this easily
Haha right! I have a phone app that does that so easily, but imovie! come on! Step up your game!
@@GarrettEderer can I ask what app?
@@kikiwu9132 I've been using an app called VLLO. I got the paid version which was 10 dollars lifetime.
Excellent tutorial! I recorded 4 separate live parts forming a quartet in GarageBand and made a music video out of it with the help of your tutorial.
Love it! Quick and to the point. I hate tutorials that have too much talking. You’re awesome! Thank you!!🤗
It's a shame that apple forces us to find a workaround like this but I really appreciate that you took the time to share it!
Thank you so much for this! Watching it in 2020 and you just saved my life!
This should be titled “How to blow your eardrums out by adding a super loud audio clip in the middle of a quiet talking video”.
YA WTF! SHIT MAN! Woke up the fucking neighborhood, people down the block callin' 911 n shit!
This is so simple, smart yet I never thought of it. Thank you so much Jasmine, greatly appreciated.
This makes so much sense now. Thanks for helping us figure it out. Also, great choice using Dwight Schrute scenes, love it!
This was a very helpful tutorial. I really didn't want to buy another app since iMovie came with the computer.

This was absolutely fantastically helpful! Thank you!
So you have to render each time you add a square? It get very complex if you want to synchronize going back and forth with a music track. Hmmm.
This. honestly Helped bro

Thanks for this!
Can we do this in iphone???
OMG imovie is so laborious seriously I'd ditching this software for good and gonna buy filmic pro or lightworks
Thanks for this.
Excellent video, but Don’t play it with speakers, the volume gets so peak 😭
How do I let them play alternately like what I see on Tiktok
Thanks 😊
does it have all of the audio as well?
thank'you but how many clips can i split?
I think as many as you want, but the pictures might be small and it will take a while
How to do this but 1 video plays but the others are paused. Then the next plays and so on
couldn't you directly do picture in picture from the first video without having to save first?
Does this work on the iMovie phone app as well?
As long as the iMovie app has Screen in Screen I believe it should work! It just might take a bit of time
Thanks Jasmine Bacchus.
Thanks!:)
