In this Stellar Blade Review we take a look at the new Action game developed by Korean developer Shift UP, and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Playstation 5. Can we remove the stupid immersion breaking enemy health bars ?

WHY is NG+ EVER an update?!! Should be day one.
No in-game transactions and free DLC coming soon. Very refreshing. I love the demo I'll love the game, very excited. Hope this becomes a Sony franchise.

If they get out of their own way with MTX, and are given adequate resources and time they bring their AAA game. There is some real talent there and it’s a shame bc they are forced to make shitty, monetized mobile games designed to generate ad much money as possible with little to no gameplay value.

I did not put up with all of FF16 story and It looks so far that Stellar combat will be better and rewarding. The story should be interesting looks very original to me.

Yeah fr radagon and Elden beast sucked after isshin, gherman and soul of cinder.
Ishinn is hands down one of the BEST final bosses in gaming imo. Hard to top that blend of skill and spectacle.

I myself looked at that boss, because I don't want to play this game. Not sure of any importance, but not close to the bosses of fromsoft

Fighting cowboy needs to stick to making collectibles guides and broken builds
Bozo couldn't hack the combat in Rise of the Ronin since it's not as simple as Sekiro and doesn't have the RPG crutches of Souls/Nioh and proceeded to claim it was shallow.

I never pre-order games anymore, but this I pre-ordered.. and I regret nothing. Props to them for releasing a demo so people can try before they buy

You're making stuff up, the game has an 82 meta critic score. Stop falling for rage bait.
They are being offended by sexualised child looking characters, which think is quite fair. East asian game character designs sometimes look a bit child porny.

When you mentioned one dimensional characters, it made me think of how Barrett was super awk in ff7 remake, but became an absolute comedian in Rebirth. Looking forward to them dumping budget into story/conversation in the next game
WaifuBlade and Lies of P prove that the Korean gaming industry is switching to single-player games. Crimson Desert looks good, too.

I really wish we were able to create our own character for Crimson Desert, looks like another really fun time in the vein of more Dragon's Dogma but with more environmental interaction and, if I've read into it right, "medieval fantasy adventure life sim" aspects. Their past makes me just the slightest bit dubious about it all coming together, but we'll see.

My only concern is that both American and Korean publishers for Black Desert Online turned out to be very greedy and basically killed the game with monetization.
It’s even a bigger disappointment given that it has the best action combat in MMOs.
@@thant0s Yeah, I wish it had character creation, too. Especially since Korean MMOs always have the most robust character creation system.
I'm so pumped for this game. The demo gave me the same kind of joy as Sekiro... that's no small accomplishment
How would you compare them in terms of difficulty? I never completed sekiro (shame) but stellar Blade seems a bit more forgiving, plus the easy mode for newcomers seems nice.
@@gummybearsonstrike147 Sekiro is hard to learn but once you have it down it's pretty easy.
Stellar Blade is more forgiving. It's definitely easier than Sekiro

Sekiro is a bit harder to pick up but once it clicks and you learn the "dance of death" it becomes pretty easy.
Stellar blade is easier to pick up because you dont need to *rely* on parry timings as much...but i feel like its gonna have a higher skill ceiling for sure. Both are *coughs* stellar combat games tho.@@gummybearsonstrike147

Kind of surprising that they didnt include a Boss Rush/Boss Challenge mode seeing as the demo had one, but perhaps they didnt have the time/resources to do an expanded version for the full game before launch. I would be surprised if they don't add this in an update down the line, but who knows. Looking forward to playing this on Friday.

Definitely wish the npc interaction / voice over’s were better w/ a solid story but I wasn’t expecting it after the demo. Having said that, the game sells me alone just for boss fights. There is such a high demand for games w/ stylish parry systems. Not that I want a flood of them but any publisher that creates a true AAA game with the above has an absolute goldmine on their hands. I have no doubt SB will do extremely well regardless of the shortcomings. This is probably the first time, as a Sony fan (though I own all consoles to get the best of all worlds) that I wish this was on PC from the jump. The modding community will be in their glory if / when it does.

I bought the deluxe edition right after playing the demo. It is so good and very addicting gameplay and not to mention Eve is beautiful

gameplay is king, and i like what i see. Also worth noting reviewers often rush to complete games so repetive and too long are often words they use. not suppose to finish a game in 1 sitting
Imma get it. I didn't know if I wanted, but the Gameplay looks so freaking good. Luckily I should get my paycheck till friday so ye. Gonna spent Weekend Playing.
The many Bayonetta references are very welcome, we're long overdue for another game with satisfying combat and options to figure out a playstyle. Plus does she have Vergil's Jugdement Cut End? It seems so.
The minimal RPG elements are also welcome, it's good that they focused on the combat, the desicion making in the moment, finding out combo routes instead "getting strong" indirectly. So I apreciate the focus.
I'm not expecting something along the lines of Bayonetta or Devil May Cry, but it seems to be somewhat close to the big idol Nier Automata, which is fine.
NG+ has already been confirmed! they released a patch for it today, so we'll all have it when the game releases.
Looking forward to Stellar Blade. Hopefully, I finish FFVII Rebirth over this weekend so I can start it.

Bro you just put every accessible scene in this video possible. Many of us would appreciate if you at least just stay in the demo scenes since sm ppl dont watch trailers or any pre spoiler content before the game even drops 👍

Honestly, I only watch your reviews for more than a year. You explain details, of fragmented parts of the games, and because of your reviews I experienced games that I would not play if was based on another's, all of them worth it. Thank you for your neutral reviews, keep always being a true gamer.

This game is amazing, to get players to still focus on the graphics and art style of the environment with Eves booty in your face called for some top notch Art Design. I can't stop doing every little thing, I'm like 30 hours deep just roaming Wasteland on the 3rd main mission doing side content. Just finished a main story boss who came back with half his head hanging off from our first fight in a side mission to fight me again in this cherry blossum arena, was one of the baddest moments in video games I had in a long time. I love this game plain and simple! The outfits don't hurt it either! Thy're more then just T and A tho frfr.

@@ayoo.bruce01 yea the game is 10/10 either way. but i get it I ranted too, it's soo weird for them to censor simple stuff thats in EVERY good game right now, blood and nudity but NOT even nudity.. There was nothing to censor and the only people who were "outraged" were Karens and complete losers. And at a beautiful woman in a bikini and literally blood which is in any game you pick up in ten fold. I have no idea why they folded to these powerless vermin complaining about a video game made for adult they'll never play. But at least they didn't try to pull the game or some bs completley, it's one of the best games to come out in a long, long time that's not from a major hit studio. Well they got Sony money but SHIFT UP is green I can't wait to see what else they can do in the future.

Excellent Review. Fextralife should do a video about recommendations of what games to be purchased vs wait for sale with so many great ones released this year like FF7 R, DD2, Rise of Ronin, Stellar Blade etc. Personally I think we should developers support such as Shift UP to encourage new IP's to be created instead of same old sequels or online looter shooter stuff.
i think for their first console game, this looks amazing. can't wait to see what they do next..

Yoko Taro, maker of Neir Automata, is apparently a fan of Stellar Blade. There was a photo of he and the maker of SB posing together in typical Taro fashion. I'll bet he's been influenced for his next game...
What’s he been influenced by? The booty? The music? The flat characters? Nier did everything stellar blade did but better lol.
He did it to boost sales of a decent game, which is outside of today's BS in this industry.
There is actually a Boss Challenge mode, which sounds a lot like what you described as a "boss rush mode"
I kind of wrote this game off because all of the focus (that I have seen) has been on the sexy main character and not the game itself. But the worldbuilding explained in this video is seriously intriguing and I am always a fan extensive skill trees

A boss rush mode and other enhancements seem inevitable as this game is going to sell way better than they could have hoped for with a new IP. Unfortunately, there won't be a multiplayer component, which is the big thing the game is missing.

My only major criticism after about 4 hours in is the movement and traversal can be a little janky at times, was hoping for that “perfect” NieR like movement fluidity.
The gameplay has also some inspiration from Jedi: Fallen Order & Survivor (Keyword: Walls).
Maybe I'm just saying that because I finished Survivor a few days prior, but yeah, some elements are kinda similar to those games.

Other reviews marked it down for the story but all said the combat was great
After the demo something was off, then played boss rush and realized what that was, pre ordered and its already my GOTY even beyond Rebirth

My rule of thumb is always play the game in the language the developers wrote it in. That said, from software do an amazing job in English and Japanese, so sekiro is the only game of theirs I play in Japanese. I suspect stellar blades story will be more enjoyable in Korean with English subs

The problem is that TGA, BAFTA, etc are woke and that's why this game and others like it will probably not even get mentioned.
I already buy it because stellar blade is more common of Xenoblade Chronicles by same name but however music theme is Doom slayer make player hype and the quite difficult level of skill is Xenoblade but is actually sekiro shadows die twice skill technique to survive also art technique form Xenoblade Chronicles. It because it fusion of Xenoblade Chronicles + Doom slayer + sekiro shadows die twice = Stellar Blade that my opinion
Happy to see other folks acknowledging Lies of P next to this game. Really excited to get our hands on Stellar Blade for sure.

Shift up Devs have said they've no plans for a pc port but because Sony have published the game I'm sure they will port to pc and some point could be a year though
@@stephensearles673It's Sony USA that ports games on PC though, as of now not a single Japanese exclusive has been ported on PC.
On top of that, this is a game wanted by Shuei Yoshida, the American branch of Sony (headquarters in California) finds it problematic, for obvious reasons. I don't think they'll ever want to touch it.
It has lots of other porn to compete with on the PC....
If want to play The best games out there and own only a PC, I'd sorry. You wont get it

the combat and skills is sick, the sexy character is a nice bonus 👌the world and enemies are very well designed.
i thought the section where you cant use your main weapon and need to use the gun was a really nice change of pace. i liked it.
the story is not mindblowing, but very enjoyable imo. i dont need to use my brain too much to understand, which is relaxing😛and lets be fair... 90% of games dont have a mindblowing story.

This game is fantastic and I’m so glad this is a thing. It’s not really a soul like even though it is very similar in combat to a souls game but due to the fact that it has RPG elements and it’s not quite as difficult as a souls game it kind of puts it in the hacksnd slash genre. we need more games like this all the games that are coming out this year and next year seem to be pretty cool especiallyWu Kong. But we need more games like this as well Capcom it’s time for another devil May ride. We’ve waited long enough make more games like this please Korea you are on fire from stellar blade to lies of P these might be my two favorite games in the last year. Not sure how lies of p didn’t get nominated for game of the year last year
