- The Extreme Stickleback is a bait fish imitation that you can tailor to represent those in your local waters. After the tying, stick around to learn more about how we used it in Iceland to catch their incredible brown trout. Lots of guests, information, and fun in this one!

Great video!!!! Watching you from Butler PA
Thanks for the kind words...and very cool that you're in my hometown! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Ok. Just watched it! Tim, I thoroughly enjoyed the video especially in that you show your usual exuberance in what you do. Excellent! Thank you for uploading.
You're welcome, and I appreciate such kind words! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
nice fly tim
Thanks, Mark! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Cool fly Tim. That material is called Glit Eyelash Yarn from Sun Spark at the craft store. I've been tying with it for a few years. I'm always amused when common craft store materials make it to the fly shop. I've seen Baby Blanket yarn sold in small packs for more than a whole ball would cost. Tight Lines and keep those cool videos coming.
Thanks for the update, and I'll be sure to look for it. The one thing I've noticed when purchasing from craft stores is that the fibers tend to be thicker, which creates unnecessary bulk in the patterns. In this case, the Semperfli material works KILLER, so I'm not going to switch from a good thing. ;-) Thanks again for taking a moment to comment, and look forward to hearing from you on some of my other videos. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
If you have a chance check out my latest video where I use the material while tying a bugger style fly that I designed last year. Thanks Tim, keep those videos coming.
Aah..... it’s 1:18am here and I’m dropping off! lol. I’m gonna have to watch it tomorrow ☹️
Glad you got back to it! :-) Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Nice video!
Thanks for taking a moment to comment, and I hope to hear from you on some of my other videos. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Tim Cammisa of course!!
i bet heaven is like that for fly fisherman..
Ha ha, well said! The weather can be tricky, as we hit some major wind the first couple days...then it got REALLY fun! I hope all is well...thanks! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Great video Tim, i've fished those places myself and they truly are amazing. Will definetly be tying up your version of our Sticleback, although finding Semperfli material from a distributor in Europe can be a bit tricky.
Thanks for the kind words, Eidur, and I truly appreciate that, coming from someone who has also fished those incredible locations. Being that Semperfli is centered in Europe, it may be easier. If you have trouble, shoot me an email: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks again! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Tim Sandy bought me a Stonfo Kaimen for My Birthday with tool bar and bobbin rest I have the Stonfo parachute tool , I wanted that vise because my other ones wont fit big hooks
Wow, now that is a great gift, Mark...you are one lucky guy!! Thanks for the comment, and I hope all is well with you with everything going on. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Can’t believe Rob hooked up while you were filming 😂
Seriously, Harrison...so epic! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
How do you fish it? Float, intermediate or sink line? Or just a poly leader of various sink rate to get deep?
Thanks for the questions, Orjan, and I prefer to fish this on a sinking line. There are many great options out there, such as: amzn.to/30JLrrt The Orvis PolyLeader (amzn.to/2Y52XET) is recommended by many, especially if you want to vary between line types. I find myself choosing to bring a reel with multiple spools versus changing leaders. This particular fly tends to right very high in the water column, so I would only use a floating line if you added weight on the head of this, something like: amzn.to/2UM2LZ3 Thanks again for taking a moment to comment. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
@@TimCammisa thanks. Im using OPST Commando Smooth with sink tips so I will then get the fly down without adding weight to it.
Hi Tim. Great pattern, looking forward to tie and try some of these! To me the colors you use in the video is very similar to those of the arctic char, and i think the fish will take the fly for a char rather than a stickleback. What do you think?
Thanks for the comments, Kristoffer, and with that amount of orange, there's a possibility, though they may also see the orange and think "baby brown trout." Have fun with the pattern, and be sure to let me know how it works for you. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
In many of the Iceland videos, people are using very large streamers. Is this really effective in size 8? Seems exceedingly small for the large predator fish you are chasing. Do you vary the sizes? Seems this would be killer in size 2 with some weight.
Thanks for checking, and since the release of the video, I actually have been going to smaller nymphs in Iceland. When it comes to streamers, I do like articulated one there, such as the Double Play: ua-cam.com/video/q7lao0tMMoI/v-deo.html With that said, I would not be opposed to throwing this in a larger size! If you've yet to visit Iceland, shoot me an email, I have a group going next summer: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim
👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Thanks, Fernando! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
I think they are on Island.

Wow, Tim. This is really messed up. Went through your link to competitive angler and searched by product type, brand, and even typed in the synthetic rabbit zonker and then semperfli extreme string in their search box. Couldn't find any of the materials to tie your stickleback patterns. Very few Semperfli products. Semperfli is not even listed in their brands when you search that way. What goes?
Thanks for the comment, and Semperfli is becoming more well-known in the US...hence you'll be seeing more of it in shops around the country. There's no lie: Competitive Angler is my favorite shop online, and Semperfli has, in my opinion, some of the best materials in the world...thus I expect to see more materials stocked there in the future. Thanks for the comment, and if you need help finding materials, shoot me an email: tcammisa@gmail.com Tim www.troutandfeather.com
@@TimCammisa I certainly didn't mean to imply that anybody was lying, just wondered what was going on. Thanks for getting back to me. I have also purchased materials from Competitive Angler and know they carry high quality products.
