very underrated fish, tastes great!
I've just filleted a Parore and prepared it for the smoker. I was unaware that it can be cooked this way. I'll give it a go next time. Thanks for the video.
Are they nice smoked
@@jazzmynpaul8766 Yep. It's good eating
One of favourite eating fish growing up.
High in iodine.
Parore is like Red Moki. Even the cat wouldn't touch it.
🤣🤣🤣
0:35 its ice :D cool vid dad
This is one of the most underrated eating fish in NZ.It is delicious!
That looks great!
what rig is common in order to catch parore as in hook size, line weight and sinker? plus are mussels alone good for bait in order to catch them? Great video btw :) that dish looks great
I like to use a small ball sinker(1/4 OZ) right on top of the hook or a float with some split shot.Best hook size is about size 10-1/0 and best baits are tuatua, sea grass, sweetcorn or mussel.Squid gut also works well. Burley with bread.sand and weed
cool thank you for ur tips
Fishy Business i would like to ask, what is the best time to target parore?
I like warm afternoons with a rising tide.Just about any time of year.
+Basic_Fishing Best way to get them is set net or drag net in areas where get yellowbelly flounders. Used to catch them loads as bycatch when was commercial fishing. We used to give them to the cray boys for bait as were valueless. River mouths and estuaries fairly close to the shoreline. Caught all year round, but we seemed to get more from Easter onwards.
Where do you find bait for parore
Never try Parore because all my friends said it does not taste good
After this video I think I will give it a go
thanks
Needa cook it right and its primo
