    Out of the card draw stuff blood rush is the fairest you are going to get. It's a 3-card investment that nets 2 cards back and 2 resources with severe risk if you don't have an all 6+ hand and whiff. Even then the guarantee that you hit some resources and not the dreaded dead red pull is there. The average damage increase is about 6 but I'll concede that the 4 wide turns are rough for an opponent. If every good card is going to get banned then you may as well add cards like Codex of frailty, Mordred tide, blade flurry, bonds of agony, etc. I would argue that HO was even ok until they decided to give mech card draw on a stick. In blitz the card overperforms since the health totals are so low, in constructed it's an issue in the same way Kano blasting you for 45 damage on your turn when you are about to kill him is an issue. If all the cards that make "aggro" tick are going to get banned, then the only winning strategy is to play fatigue decks and force viewers to watch CYB mirrors until we all move on. I understand the frustration with blitz as a format, I have heard it referred to as playing a coin flip more than once. I agree changes are needed to keep Blitz a viable competitive format that interests the community.

      I disagree. I don't think Blitz is meant to be a fully competitive format. It's meant to have more variance. While it can certainly feel bad, I think having newer players oops out a win is part of the point. I don't really want it to get over tuned.

      Not taking it personal, I don’t even think I was overly emotional about it. Just expressing why the format is not my thing.

    I actually got the date for my skirmish wrong. I hadn’t practiced and didn’t even have a deck put together. A local brought it up that it was later that day after our CC armory. I rushed home and slapped the Victor list I bombed with last season and managed to take 1st place this time.

    Brutes class is just tied to variance but with blitz if the hero has their “power” card turn 1 and 2 do you win against any hero?
    If they can balance some other issues brutes have then sure take bloodrush but right now it feels like taking bloodrush kills all 3 brutes?
    The other cards that got banned was all generic right? That was possible the issue. Bloodrush is only in brute. You have to pitch, and discard to then draw two random cards that can just be two reds that do nothing.
    The issue is blitz just gets all the power that cc has with half the life.

      Yeah its obviously a problem card. My brute friends keep pulling it off and causing random wins against me. I'm personally sick of seeing them win only cause of RNG, just let me just ban it and claws ffs. Fucking idiots shouldn't win, last armory I literally tore up my buddies bloodrush. Lets just say WE AINT FRIENDS anymore.

    Competitive players in a competitive game will only natrually gatekeep a game's growth. Look at any Fighting Game ever and you'll see the same story play out over and over, mass adoption and hype at the start with a massive falling off of the casual scene as the established players that are already good start catching hands with *everybody*. A game only grows if there is true intrest, it's why casuals run the big games (Magic, Pokemon, One Piece, even YGO). FaB's Comp scene is one of the best in the market but the Locals level has had 0 real incentives for the casual scene. Blitz as a format is designed to be quick, explosive and high variance while CC by nature isn't. I don't know how at the Armory level to promote Timmy to come down and try the game (and stick around) when you're going into a room full of Spikes without slighting the Spikes by going "Hey it's Format that's not CC/Draft" or "Prizing is taking a hit."

      Yeah, I mean two sides to every argument. Why would someone with limited free time like myself want to invest time and money into a format or a game where people can just high-roll you in a fast game where you had no agency. Not exactly my cup of tea. I would’ve rather stayed home and played Fortnite if I was looking for some quick casual fun.
      And as far as the gatekeeping argument goes I honestly think blitz hurts growth more than it helps. Blitz being swingy fast and high variance probably turns a lot of people off to the game who would have otherwise been interested in CC or limited.
      If someone is having fun with Blitz I will not take that away from them. The format is simply not for me, and thats ok

    • @larv23
      @larv23 Місяць тому

      @TCG_Staxwell That's the Catch 22, you don't want your competitive players to get bored or feel like they're being slighted while at the same time making sure that the lower skilled player can *sometimes* catch a win or at the bare minimum have fun. If your lower skill players just can't win ever, they're gonna just quit. Blitz doesn't solve this issue but at the very least you're more than likely as a new play to "Scam" a win from somebody bettee because you saw The Nuts and the game actually ends on the spot. In CC, the best decks see The Nuts but sometimes the game does not end for another 10 minutes and you're just stuck looking down the barrel of lethal with no way to claw back.

    • @ThePeekXD
      @ThePeekXD Місяць тому

      @@TCG_Staxwell I don't know, man. It's subjective. If you're a new player the higher variance puts you in more winnable situations. If you're a new player playing against an established player who is going to play that CC match with ZERO mistakes you're never going to win that game and you're either gonna get your ass kicked for 55 minutes, or if the game doesn't get drug out you're sitting there waiting for everyone else to finish.
      There's "feel bad" moments in both formats, and getting highrolled / outplayed feels bad either way. We need to quit acting like CC is perfect and every new player will have the perfect experience with it somehow. There's pros and cons to both formats.

    The only real win condition with brute is bloodrush bellow. Yes it sucks they had brb turn 1 and 2. But if you had survived I doubt they could have won.

    • @Sharp1200
      @Sharp1200 Місяць тому +1

      That's bad design then
      Ban BrB and print some other strong cards for them
      Spread the power out

    • @nathanshinigami
      @nathanshinigami Місяць тому +3

      @Sharp1200 as other people have said, with any hero do you have a card that basically wins you the game? The answer is either yes or the hero is f tier or the hero has an ability like building board state the whole game which wins them the game. Brutes except for maybe levia don't have board state.
      Bloodrush bellow isn't op on it's own and it can often end up with just being a 5 with claw if you get unlucky.

      As a judge who has been part of these situations, it’s not as simple as saying, “Oh, your key cards are rainbow foils.” It has to be demonstrated multiple times that the cards are warped enough to consistently cut to. None of us want to issue a game loss. Please either double-sleeve your deck with hard inner sleeves or avoid using rainbow foils altogether. If you must use foils, have a judge check your deck before the event starts... They'll either fix the problem, or if it comes up you'll be able to say "X Judge already gave the ok on these".

    Brother, you have to quit hating on Blitz so much. It's not a bad format, and you're continually pushing people away from it. It's just different than CC and there's nothing wrong with that.
    It's ok to not like Blitz, but ripping into it constantly when its just DIFFERENT from CC is whack.
    You don't have to hate one to like the other. I don't get that mindset at all.
    Blitz is FINE, you just got highrolled. The exact same thing happens in CC too and you're most likely going to lose that game, it's just going to be over the course of the next 10 turns while you're on the back foot instead of 2 turns.
    This so coming from someone who also strongly prefers CC. 🤷🤷
    Also Clash was not it for our locals. It was made to fix the sideboard problem in Blitz but they now allow sideboards in Blitz so there's just no reason for Clash at this point. 🤷
    Commoner isnt good for a new player format either. We pushed that real hard for our local new player format. It is extremely affordable, but it's way too sweaty. There's two very obvious tier Zero decks and every new player would show up and get absolutely pub stomped by Ira / Iyslander and it just ends up with them quitting the game.
