    Great Video! I'm starting my journey in this as well and am super interested in more info on the direct program and inventory management. I'm sitting at level 4 but unsure if I'm ready with my inventory to go direct yet.

    yes! been waiting for this! i ship 100-150 orders a week, but i feel like my system could improve, mostly with conditioning, sorting, and storing. I also think with this series, your judgement of what processes you go over in each segment so it "flows", would be better than kinda taking votes on "what do i talk about next"

    • @PhilosopherCards
      @PhilosopherCards  5 місяців тому +1

      100 - 150 orders a week is solid! I was thinking about this too and I think you're right - should do the natural flow versus by request

    The timing of this is perfect. Just hit seller level 3 on tcg and wondering what the next steps are. Very excited for this series

      @@ga_metar1657 Its so hard to say.... I can tell you that I buy many cards from many different sellers - and many sellers - aren't too good. I'm wondering if they are going to instill any more checks and criteria prior to leveling, and potentially more training materials and expectations

    Subscribed. My dad’s been selling sports cards on Beckett/ebay for 20+ years and I’ve gotten real into magic. Maybe between your experience in this domain and my dad’s in the broader collectibles market, I could start finding myself on the other side of the transaction.

    I’m at seller level 4 now, but would be interested in your shipping technique and how you save time and money there. Also, curious on how you source your sealed product. Lastly, curious on the benefits of Direct and how you do it. Love the idea of this 👍🏻

      Thanks!!! I should cover most of those questions on my future videos. If you check out my website I post links to some of the best deals I find on eBay. I source product directly from eBay 60%, Rudy 10%, direct buys from individuals 20% and random acquisitions 10%

    I know this is a more specific question, but any answer would be appreciated!
    I was lucky enough to pull a serialized Charisma Bobblehead from the Fallout series. I'm not a huge collector, just love the game:) Was wondering if it's worth going through TCG to sell it, or should i look at fb marketplace, ebay, etc.? Also is it necessary to get it graded before selling?
    Feel free to not reply if this is too specific/not worth the time! But it could be an interesting scenario to bring up in your future videos.
    Great vid regardless

    • @PhilosopherCards
      @PhilosopherCards  5 місяців тому +1

      This is actually great to add into my next video - but the short answer is - I would go the route of ebay/facebook - and I would also go the route of grading it first (Unless its possible the card can be used as a commander then you might want to look at grading with a players slab with PCG)
      The reason for this is because TCGPlayer has high fees and folks that buy serialized cards often times care about the number on the card (Harder to list that way on TCGPlayer) I say grading because these high dollar cards can suddenly be worth more if they are graded a 10. On top of that, its harder from a fraud perspective as graded cards are serialized (Nobody can buy claiming you sent them a fake and send you a fake back) Any card over 500, I would recommend grading simply from a fraud perspective alone.

    I’m a player and I’d like to sell off cards I don’t plan on using. Ive listed a handful (mostly $2-$20 cards, nothing under a buck) and try to be close to lowest but not always (depends on the card and my connection to it). Seems like no one wants to take the chance on a brand new shop on TCGPlayer. I understand logistics and the shipping doesn’t bother me. But ultimately I’m thinking my plan here isn’t going to work. I don’t plan on having more than 50-100 cards in my inventory at a time. Should I just take cards to a local shop instead? Thanks!

    • @PhilosopherCards
      @PhilosopherCards  5 місяців тому

      Great question. It all depends on how much risk you’re willing to accept (in terms of lost packages etc.) plus the amount of time you’re willing to invest. At a 100 card inventory, you can absolutely sell those cards effectively - but it will require you to consistently update your prices daily to maintain the lowest listing. If you aren’t the lowest listing, you don’t have enough cards or feedback to drive folks to your shop. You have to make sure you are always lowest and you have to have 100% positive feedback. I will cover most of your question in more detail in future videos 😊

    i just started selling and im tired of writing the addresses what thermal printer do you use

    • @PhilosopherCards
      @PhilosopherCards  5 місяців тому

      I use a couple - I have one that prints my packing slips and one that prints my postage INCLUDING address. There are label printers that do just address labels and I've used those in the past, but found this is faster for my level of volume.

    • @PhilosopherCards
      @PhilosopherCards  5 місяців тому

      I just realize I didn't answer your question lol. I use a rollo for my packing slips and just a generic amazon one for my postage and address
