Celza Yamuto Yuma is the worst protagonist out of the 5, he can't bloody duel without the help of Astral, and on like the second episode he was all like "tribute summon!?!?! Whats that!?!?!" after that I stopped watching, so god damn awful.
this duel gave me suspense seeing yugi take on newer generation cards. tho the game has evolved much as since then the original series will always hold a spot in my heart! :)

Can confirm that (most of the time) that is not true in the Dub. IMO he's actually quite dignified, except when he's making of Yuma, which everybody and their mom already do. Dunno why they decided to make him trash talk so much here.
let's not forget that he here didn't use all the utopias or most of them or utopic dragon or even the combo of utopia+ abyss splash+numeron dragon+ rising hope (which results in a win with a great load of atk)
Realistically if we take the most basic archetypal aspects of each of their decks this is really Gagagas vs Dark Magicians. And those in my opinion are relatively equally matched depending on their builds. But overall Astral's deck is far more consistent and non reliant on very powerful effects. Rather he is reliant on more situational effects.

As much I consider Yugi to be a complete boss, I feel that the duel would've probably ended quite differently if Yuma had been there, due to his reckless yet confident dueling ways. That, and it would've been fair to see Yuma and Astral activate Zexal to have an awesome match between both duelists' Ace monster's!! Very well scripted though

Relay soul is a card DESIGNED for when youre life points hit zero you stay in the duel by playing a monster. Only if that monster is destroyed u lose but since they follow anime rules fusing with said monster is ok. So no, Losing all his life points Did NOT make him lose
Yes but it's effect differs from the anime. In the TCG, Relay Soul Special Summons 1 monster from your hand, and while it's face-up on the field, you take no damage. Since, however, they weren't following TCG rules, and were instead going by anime rules, Yami was able to survive with 0 Life Points. That move would not have worked if someone tried it in the TCG.

They always use the anime rules for these battles, and after all, it is 2 anime characters playing against each other, so no, no one cheated, otherwise I can't imagine you watching the anime without screaming "CHEATERS!?!!11!" the whole time. Cards of Sanctity is the most known anime eff card, so I'm guessing that you do accept it's anime effect for some odd reason. And it's not like the Kuribandit effect is the most broken shit ever.

As much I consider Yugi to be a complete boss, I feel that the duel would've probably ended quite differently if Yuma had been there, due to his reckless yet confident dueling ways. That, and it would've been fair to see Yuma and Astral activate Zexal to have an awesome match between both duelists' Ace monster's!! Very well scripted though

Classic Yugioh will always be the best. Even duel academy was great to watch. After that it lost something. Duels lacked the excitement. Or I just got older lol.

Relay soul is a card DESIGNED for when youre life points hit zero you stay in the duel by playing a monster. Only if that monster is destroyed u lose but since they follow anime rules fusing with said monster is ok. So no, Losing all his life points Did NOT make him lose

Yes but it's effect differs from the anime. In the TCG, Relay Soul Special Summons 1 monster from your hand, and while it's face-up on the field, you take no damage.
Since, however, they weren't following TCG rules, and were instead going by anime rules, Yami was able to survive with 0 Life Points. That move would not have worked if someone tried it in the TCG.
it was kind of a cheap duel because even tho astral should have won of course they fanboy over yugioh and let him win when relay soul is being used as its anime eff

They always use the anime rules for these battles, and after all, it is 2 anime characters playing against each other, so no, no one cheated, otherwise I can't imagine you watching the anime without screaming "CHEATERS!?!!11!" the whole time. Cards of Sanctity is the most known anime eff card, so I'm guessing that you do accept it's anime effect for some odd reason. And it's not like the Kuribandit effect is the most broken shit ever.
