Great video, scenery, and mix bag of birds. Good dog work. I'm envied. I'm a 30 year hunter but feel like a rookie again with the requirement of steel shots. I'm really surprised to see you dropped the bigger nonqauils with a dove load!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I've been using Federal Upland Steel #6 and #7.5 and it will do it all. I can't be sure if it was #6 or #7.5 in my gun on that day because I had a mix of both, but I swear by the stuff. The ducks were stone dead.
Fantastic video! Friggin awesome! The dogs did great! I tried out some Kent Steel Dove #6 last month when I went hunting in Az. Not only did it work great on the doves it absolutely stoned the Gambles Quail! I'm going to use it from now on.

Haha you’re right Kim! I’ve never mounted a bird, but I felt like the wood duck was worthy. We don’t see a lot of them here. So as an upland hunter I’d say it’s exceptionally rare.
What a day! The ducks are really getting pretty this time of year.
Enjoyed the video. Nice work on the mallard retrieve, Coop.
Nice hunt Rob. Congrats on the wood duck. Some great dog work especially the retrieve Cooper made on the greenhead👍
“That’s a dead mallard.” Yeah, no kidding! Great bag; I am a big fan of variety!
I get excited for ducks because we don’t shoot a lot of them. Being that I love to cook so much, it’s a great opportunity for culinary adventure.
Awesome mixed bag. Great job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Congrats on the wood duck, they are such a beautiful bird. Use to build wood duck boxes for our property, their were tons of them.
Thank you. They seem to be fairly uncommon here, especially for a guy who primarily hunts upland.

What shot size do you use for quail and pheasant hunting
On this day I was using Federal Upland Steel in #6 and #7.5.
Cool I use 2/34 Remington 6 steel and kentfasteel 4 also 23/4
Another great vid! What size shot are you hunting with?? Trying to decide what size to take with me tomorrow on my hike/hunt!
Well I was hunting pheasant and quail primarily so I had #6 and #7.5 steel.
