Great review. I am getting my ZS EV Luxury (in the Netherlands) in September. We were sold after the testdrive and comparing it to other EV's fell for the price and the simplicity of the car. Most other, similar EV's in the Netherlands are way more expensive.
I have been driving my 2020 old style ZS for 4.5 years now and it is great, reliable and quick enough. I think you would find that putting it in Sports Mode and flooring the pedal you would do 0-60 in about 7 seconds, that is what those with GPS timers have found. The newer version will rapid charge more quickly than mine and you have control over heating the battery prior to a rapid charge to make it charge at about 70 kW. Despite the old version only charging at around 50kW 300 mile journeys aren't a problem. MG have done a great job in presenting an EV with lots of tech but still the buttons to make things work just like an ICE car. The Motoring Press were scathing when the ZS EV was launched. MG (or their buying public) got the last laugh with UK sales across their range up in the top 7 of brands.
Fantastic review. I’m test driving one tomorow to use for a salary sacrifice scheme. I test drove the MG 4 and loved it, however it was too small for my job and day to day needs with a young family. I hope this car will be perfect for my work travel and use occasionally for my family.
Thanks for the great review, looking at getting one of these for my wife didn't know much about MG, I have a Q4 Etron this looks like it's pretty much got the same spec for half the price (albeit with a smaller range) I think I'm sold!
Don't forget its lfp battery. (the short range) Good for 5000 charge cycles to 60% 3000 to 80% That's at the very least a car battery that will do 600,000 before that range from a full charge hits 120 miles. And LFP batteries like being charged to 100%
Love this review! I’m picking up my new MG ZS EV this Friday. Might sit in the back when the wife is picking me up from a pub night. I am a little over 6’2”, but always tell people I’m 6’3”, because… well you know 😉 and now I know that sitting in the back is not a problem and you get that fantastic view. P.S. I played that song when I picked up the wife when we got married. Might do the same when I pick her up with this car on Friday 😊
The car and it's technology is one thing. The after sale service is another thing. In Thailand, after service of MG is understand. Far below those Japanese automotive.
@@TomShorrock it's decent enough but it's a very boaty drive, and I didn't think it was as luxurious as this review suggests! If you spent this much on an ICE, I think you'd get better quality, but in an EV landscape there's not much better for the price which has equivalent range IMO
I agree with the drive, however the reference I made on luxurious quality was a comparable against other budget car manufacturers. Don’t get me wrong it’s not your Audi & BMW level of finish but it does put other manufacturers to shame
@@TomShorrock absolutely, agree it's definitely the upper end of the "budget" market, the entire MG EV range is amazing value for money and high quality for the segment, MG4, 5 and the ZS EV.
I’ve had mine for about 3 months and didn’t know about the voice control 😮That’s really handy to find out!

How was it?
@@thefaith01 it will be great for my job and use for the family. Not as good to drive as the MG4 tho. Just awaiting a delivery date for my one now.
Collected my new MG ZS EV. On Friday the 8th of March 2023 and love it.❤

Hi from Australia! Great review. Thanks so much. We have just purchased one and after watching this we feel very pleased with our choice.
The MG ZS EVs are well regarded in Australia. Second hand vehicles are a good buy.

Did you get the sunroof in your ZS ?
@@saad.handle yes I did and I am very happy with it 😎

Men and mirrors? Damn I remember when Jo Guest used to to do a cooking show on this TV channel.

Apologies for the the out of tune singing…. 👀

Very very average car but a fantastic EV for the price point.
It is top quality though, it does give Ford and Vauxhall a lot to answer for
