  • Beneath the surface of Hollywood's sparkling facade, whispers of dark secrets and unsettling truths have long circulated, secrets so disgusting they were dismissed as mere rumors. Yet, in an industry where power and influence are the ultimate currency, some of these whispers have crystallized into undeniable reality.
From exploitation under the guise of opportunity to manipulative moguls who've made and broken careers with a mere nod, the tales were not just rumors-they were a glimpse into the abyss that lies beneath Hollywood's glittering exterior.

well honestly...whenever I go to the voting booth I don't think about Hollywood...actors or any other celebrity ideations...I go there with my thoughts only on whom I believe will do the best job representing me...and Ronald Reagan ONLY became President because he had an acting career....and honestly if Donald Trump hadn't been a celeb and had his own TV show...it's not likely he would have been known by enough people to be elected.

I have never understood why people worship entertainers. They are paid to pretend to be fictitious characters and say words that are written by someone else. They offer themselves to be fans of people that they don't know anything about. All they know are the roles that the entertainer plays.

Thousands of women daily are exploited and abused by 'men' (grown boys, not real men) - this probably happens to most women (casting couch) - 'if you want to feed your babies and have a roof over their heads'. All for three minutes... they ruin lives and kill us. The responding comment of the 'boy' saying this is BS is one of them... he's never been a woman or had to go through the hell we do - from birth. I was broken before the age of twelve by five old boys in my family - the remaining years to 68 was more of the same. Women are born victims of this male run society. My answer to his calling BS = Harvey Weinstein - including the gender pay gap. Most of them are arrogant and ignorant, just wanting their three minutes. Truth, all of it.

The interesting thing about this is it had been all brought up after these people have all past away and have no way to defend themselves for these accusations. I'm not saying it did or didn't happen, just asking the question, why are people accused of things after they are dead when they have no way to dispute or give their account of these happenings?

Charlie Chaplin: You left out the part about him supporting Lita Grey's entire Mexican-American family for the whole time they were married, his friendship with Goddard which endured all their lives, the eight children he had with Oona O'Niell, and his leaving the US because of McCarthyism: the HUAC questioned why he had never become a US citizen. And oh, yeah, he kept co-star Edna Purviance on the payroll for her entire life even though she became morbidly obese and failed to become a star after he wrote and directed a movie just to establish her. So what if he liked them young? Guess I won't watch the rest.

This stuff doesn't surprise me. It happens more than people think. Happens in all walks of life. When I was 14, my teacher who was 28 made me stay after school, and then when it was just her and me, she made me go under her desk. She taught me, alright. She even tried to get me to come to her house for the weekend, but my mom didn't like the idea, so that never came to fruition. Think my mom suspected something? It was 1979, things were different then. If I'd snitched her out, people wouldn't have believed me anyway, and if I had snitched on her then she would've stopped doing it, and _I liked it._

Each to their own I suppose, it's certainly not my cup of tea and Not something I can understand I'm afraid as I really don't get the appeal
But for goodness sake what the fella did in his private sex life was his bloody business as long as it was a consenting adult partner he did it with
I think the fella that wrote that book was well out of order telling the world about the stars sex life's, unless of course their pedos
I think Charles was a fantastic actor, director and everything else he did the man was a true artist ( I don't mean 💩painting )
I just don't think the guy was right in airing others laundry in public, I mean being gay was still illegal back then and what he did was probably damaging to someone

My great granma married at 16 with an 'old' guy in his early 30s. Thet was normal at the time. She was born in the late 1890s, was very rich, had 7 kids, a long marriage and lived well into the 1980s. I rememeber she laughed when she heard about Chaplin's "scandals".

Sorry, but if you are assaulted or abused and keep silent for 30-50 years, then that is something fishy.
Can regret or remorse over something you willingly participated in be classed as abuse?
