With every beep of the elevator, you stand there.
Clenching a baseball bat, awaiting the doors to open.

With the final beep of the elevator, the doors click and swoosh open to reveal a brightly lit hotel lobby full of random men, whom of which you feel a deep, dark hatred for.
You slide a cheap rubber chicken mask you bought at a department store on your head and step out of the elevator.
You maniacally bounce the bat in one hand while holding the handle in the other.
A few of them notice you, by sound of the bat slapping your palm.
You decide to make your way to the closest one.
With every step you take, he gets more concerned.
In the shred of a second, you wallop the bat in the side of his skull, splitting his head open and leaving his twitching body on the gleaming, cold, white tile floor in a growing puddle of blood.
For the next few minutes it felt, you completely forget what happened.
But as you gather your surroundings, you notice the entire room is peppered in bullet holes, blood splatter, destroyed furniture and a few dosen brutally beaten corpses.
You look down, to see your baseball bat, nearly split in two and soaked in blood.
You realize that this was the beginning.

What you and future generations can do is rather than being sad about not remembering your ancestors or ancient and forgotten great leaders or inventors, you can acknowledge that without them the earth and humanity wouldn't have come to where it is now and that things would be much different and maybe you or I wouldn't even exist. If you can't remember specifically them then that is the only thing you can do. Memorials are a pretty great thing and they do have a point. Bodies of humans literary become one with the ground. They decompose so they can feed millions of other small life forms. Memorials exist so that they can help remind us that without those people that died and did things in their lives things could be worse or better. But it really doesn't matter. It's just how things are. The people that are gonna be born and were born and what they are gonna do is a decision made by the cosmic metaphorical dice that was played by nature in the beginning of the existence of existence. A huge wide cosmos (compared to us humans of course. Size doesn't matter if there aren't any humans around to compare it to themselves) that is just the way it is and we as humans are just another chemical reaction, we are sacks of meat that walk and talk and are self aware and die and live and have evolved to do so. Death and life is just nature's way to give immortality. Nature metaphorically sees all your ancestors in you. Anyway, I got a bit off track here... Memorials are the basically the only thing that we as humans can do to honor the dead and appreciate the things they did. Dead people are forgotten because if they didn't get forgotten then well... (this is gonna sound cliche) humans wouldn't be able to move on and focus on their lives and securing a good life for their children so that the children can secure a good life for their children etc. Until all life becomes extinct and the universe collapses on itself. By then... We will be and what will remain as a memorial of humans is one singular speckle of M.O.O.N.- DUST...

At night I play this song as you reach the height of the bridge and Downtown Miami is on your left. It is a wonderful sight, but the city at night is where the animals come out...and that is Miami almost every night. It is beautiful and frightening at the same time...like a hurricane.
