- South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who had been considered among a list of possible running mates for former President Donald Trump in his latest White House bid, has been widely criticized after writing in her new book about killing her dog decades ago, a story that went viral.
CBS News Philadelphia anchor Janelle Burrell asked Gov. Noem about the controversial killing of her dog, a family goat and claims of having met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in her new book "No Going Back."
Noem says the book is filled with vulnerable stories and she hopes her book offers a blueprint for the average citizen and how they can get involved in their local government.

She was faced with the decision of killing her dog or finding a more suitable home for it. That would not be a difficult decision for most people. Unfortunately she chose the cold hearted, quick solution because she's selfish and evil. Those traits do not make a good leader. The way one treats a helpless animal or person who can do nothing for them tells their true character.
It got Trump elected. And Scott Perry. Marjorie Greene, Lauren Boebert, Jim Jordan, Ted Cruz... it's the reason she put it in the book. And audiobook.
A friend asked, "Hey Kristi. What're you up to?" Noem answered, "Oh, nothing. Just shooting the breeze, shooting the dog, a goat, some horses..."

She is traveling the country now doing damage control for her heinous acts. A 14th month old dog is still considered a puppy. Dogs don't reach their full maturity until about 2 years-old. Non-profits such as Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and Farm Sanctuary take dogs and goats. There is nothing heroic about choosing to shoot an animal vs rehoming. It's about usurping power. Perhaps she should have kept the lid on this, but now she is getting too much bad press as a dog killing narcissist.
After hearing about all the blatant lies and inconsistencies I now believe that the dog was way younger than 14 months.. I’m gonna say it was less than a year old

First of all the same people that criticized her for not closing down during covid are not all the same ones criticizing her about her dog. I applauded her for not closing down the state during covid however I do take issue with murdering a 14 month old puppy! I know she's trying to spin it as it was a vicious dog and it killed livestock. Well the livestock it went after and killed were chickens! Maybe because it was a puppy in training, it didn't differentiate between pheasants and chickens. Instead of killing it maybe she should have taken it to a trainer rather than trying to train the dog herself. She obviously didn't do too well training. She also stated, "I hated that dog!" So it couldn't have been too much of a tough decision to put it down because after all she hated it according to her own statement. And apparently she had a killer goat also. Oh and let's not forget, she killed three of the families horses in that same gravel pit that the family owned for 25 years. Were the horses vicious too? She can't talk her way out of this. I think she's a psychopath.
You assume from your high horse that she or her family had the money to "take it to a trainer". I doubt you grew up on a ranch like she did. Ranchers take care of things themselves, they aren't limp wristed city folk that pay everyone else to do things. It's that simple.

BS. Where Kristi Neom Lives in South Dakota is the area where I just started living. The nearest animal control is over 500 Miles away and this is RANCH COUNTRY where Ranch owners have to make tough decisions every day about Livestock and Animals of all types on the Ranch. This Dog was out of control and killing Chickens and going after other livestock. This cannot be allowed to happen and this Pup Kristi had would have been a danger to ranch hands and Children visiting, as it had decided to be the ALPHA and do exactly what the Dog wanted to do. This is a Dangerous situation when you live so far from everything and Help. Thought Australian's would understand this. But, I can see this is a city point of view that some are talking about and its a Hundred miles off the mark or rather ignorance. I train and rescue Dogs for Service work and if I thought what Governor Neom had done was a travesty, then I would be screaming about it. But, its tough to get the REAL STORY when the Fake News gets involved.
