I’ve learned that when I bury my gold and silver, it will be inside of great iron pot, below 18inches! 😂 Love seeing your subscribers going up so fast lately John!
probably will have to wait for the next-gen metal detector to ping that find! HAHA! Or maybe Cleggy will find it with his gianormous old-school detector! Have you seen that thing?...it must weigh 20 lbs! HA!
Thank you for the video. A pretty nice day for the time of year, and a wide variety of coinage. Just no silver or gold. Give it time. They will come when you least expect it.
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in Tennessee. Once again, you bring a bit of joy into my evening. I think that nicely decorated find is a piece of equestrian decoration from the Roman Empire. Yep…sure is…hmmmm. Hope you’re enjoying a blessed new year. 24:07
As a;ways John, nice to see those clear fields and Hey I'd take rain over the shoveling stuff we are getting right now in Southern Ontario Canada, will be a few months till I get to dig again. But then thats ok you're there to help me through the Canadian winter, so keep digging and keep the vids coming HH. Dave J
That wheel is probably the best thing you found! From an early model locomotive that ran on live steam , I'm thinking it's from a company called Stevens Model Dockyard. The rarety of these museum pieces means it could be useful to someone. However, being that it's lead, it might be something more unique. Possibly a model demonstrator or even a working vehicle. Hoo island for instance, used miniature railway carriages to carry lamps within the walls to prevent ignition of the powder magazines that the lamp was illuminating through glass windows in the walls. Nicola White has a video that covers the subject. Well, it's a talking point, iff nothing else.😊
That was a good sprinkling of coins. Next time maybe some silver or even a gold coin. I wish I had the ago of coins that you are so lucky enough to have. Good luck to you as always. John
38.8K! I think I remember when you were reaching for 4000! And it’s always been highly entertaining and informative ( even the dreaded aluminum)! Many thanks and give your sweet understanding lady a hug
Oh wow! Im first on here!! Great to see another video! I found my first tom bac button on the weekend, i jumped around like i had found gold😅. Keep it up and see you on the next dig!
Six coins and a nice little deorative artifact thing. Another extremely respectable set of finds for just a 3.5 hour dig. Me and the wife are lucky if we ever come away with half this amount between us in a 3 and a half hour session, a great video John Thank you.
I'm surprised you don't care for the gallows after dark. Lol. I was quite the adrenaline junkie in my younger days. I would still love to kick around the fields of Perthshire after dark. Maybe a bit of mudlarking in an old churchyard. I so love your channels. The history and your sense of humor always keep this old lady smiling. Thank you, John
Really good 3 and half hours in the gallows field nice few coins towards the end always makes the day feel better and nice to see the turner coin come up from the time of the hangings well done John thanks for sharing another great history lesson on the monarchs love it! Keep up the hard work mate 👍
Many thanks. From time to time I get a half decent one. I’ve had one absolute belter in 24 years which had pride of place in my display cabinet from a pure sand field
Well done again John I was out Sunday in the South West like you say about coins from other countries you find I found a Portuguese reas I think that's how you spell it,just smaller than a cartwheel penny, looking forward to day 2 at the gallows field.
Enjoy your videos. In Ashtabula Ohio. USA. Watch them every week. Keep swinging. Just got a new deus2. Hope to use it in England this year. Thx for your knowledge of relics and coins. Dana Kirk. USA
Hi Mate, been watching your vids for a wee while now. About six years ago my mates and I were on a charity dig on that very field your on at Gallows hill and not far from where you were standing at the intro i found a Medieval Bronze Iconographic ring. possibly used by a priest or religious figure. who knows he may even have been blessing the poor souls condemned to death. It was claimed by Treasure Trove and I believe is in Perth museum. keep up the vids.
Hiya John, So good to see you out on the fields. 10 inches of snow fallen over day and half in west central Minnesota. I'm enjoying your vids whether you find the good stuff or not. Hope to see more artifacts from gallows field...Keep them coming and good hunting sir! Give Jurah a hug from me.🐕🦺
Hey John. Pretty nice collection you’ve dug up again. Simon would be jumping for joy for the rest of the week if he found that much. 🥳 And then again, George the gorgeous, 1916…. The Somme. Douglas Hague. What a tragedy. I guess you know that it happened also due to a plea from the French to get the pressure of Verdun. So it wasn’t all for five miles. A very sad and unimaginable story, those four years.
The history tidbits are always interesting - My Grandfather fought in WWI at Vimy Ridge, met my Grandmother while recovering in a hospital outside of London in about 1917. A war bride as he brought her back to Canada. (Nova Scotia - “New Scotland”)
I've never been so early to one of your uploads, but the excitement I felt when I saw it pop up was so fun!! Love sneaking away from work for half an hour or so to watch you 🤩
Happy New Year John. Good to see you back.Ipicked up some Minelab headphones in a charity shop for £2. Will be handy for spares. All coppers for you on this trip John, but it's only January.
Nice finds as always. Loved the buckle thingy and the pot mend. Nice old coins for sure. Enjoying your channel and watching it grow. Great job and thanks for sharing!!!
Love the channel and the amazing number of coins you find on “The Fields Of Perthshire “ lol. I think the threaded brass nut at 3:30 is a diesel injector fuel line nut.
Love ya John, content is phenomenal! Lol. How far are you from Ferniehirst ? Would love to see some digs round there. I AM going to to be the dreaded American, but I do have Kerr 2 generations back. As per the spelling and not a derivative. Keep up the Amazing content! Not my fault I was born so far from one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Scotland! Alba gu bràth!
You have not been there for a while! I`m surprised the ground is not frozen, it`s well frozen up here. At 8.05 when you found a penny it looked like there was an edge of a coin in the piece of mud you threw back
No detecting for me at the moment as I'm recuperating after a knee replacement op. So it's great to be able to enjoy yet another intriguing, interesting and informative venture out into those fields of Perthshire. Much appreciated, John - I can't wait to get back out into the countryside and do some digging myself.
Another great video. Mind you I enjoy every one you post. Your finds and history lessons are fun to watch. I’m assuming you have much cooler weather to work in. It’s a hot and humid day here in Brisbane, Australia. ☀️☀️ I’m just enjoying the air conditioning while watching your video 🙂
11:46 - "I'm not gonna say the..." 😂 Probably a wise decision. That kind of language might get you demonetized! For a split second I thought, "Why is he mad?" It made me laugh, anyway. Great video as always! 🍻
Germany was blockaded too with the loss of 2 million, mainly children and old people. My Granny told me stories of being a child in Germany at that time and the hunger.
Gongraths with the 6B Views before 3 years Anniversary very very impressive! Did n't see that coming At all😱👍 Nice to give Gleggy a X mas Whisky! One of the reasons I stopped as a Sub on his Channel Was hir Urge to upload videos, when He was D....🙄 Maybe John will Get some silver in March?? WE? Only for Royalty, or if you get The Silver UA-cam sign😜🔝❤️
What’s this ah just a coin it’s over a hundred years old but meh… hmm on other old coin over a hundred nothing new lol smh those are in great shape for being found in a field your definitely spoiled with 2-500 year old coins popping out of the ground. Another great episode sir 🤩 thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼 p.s.I would be excited with just the toy wheel find I couldn’t imagine pulling a mid-evil or Roman relic out of the ground. All that aluminium and trash your pulling out of Mother Natures skin is about to be paid back in silver my friend. She appreciates it.
Call it a coincidence but in Austria the most common coin are 2 groschen from the 1920s.. i find these coins as often than you find the half pennys and pennys 😅 i thought you should know 😁
Hi Tanja. Land is frozen just snow as we are in a cold spell, but fingers crossed I’ve got four videos saved which I’m hoping will tide me over until the thaw!! Regton detector on delay due to the frozen ground but hopefully soon!
Every time I hear about the first day of the Somme, I can't believe it and have to look it up again. It's unfathomable to have 60,000 casualties in a day. If I recall, the General was brought up on charges for it.
I have seen in historical dramas that the laird/landowner will toss coins at the workers/poor. Could this explain why so many coins are lost? They fall in tilled land, not to be found by the recipients but by metal detectorists centuries later?
I’ve learned that when I bury my gold and silver, it will be inside of great iron pot, below 18inches! 😂 Love seeing your subscribers going up so fast lately John!
Haha that was good!!

Nice watching the videos, learning something new everytime 😊 Great find again 👍🏻
Cheers from Norway 🇧🇻
Nice hunt nice finds, really enjoyed the video. 🇺🇸
Thank you for the video. A pretty nice day for the time of year, and a wide variety of coinage. Just no silver or gold. Give it time. They will come when you least expect it.
Thanks Matthew! Hopefully once I get one then the flood gates will open 😜
Cool coins awesome video!
Many thanks 🤩 new video just posted

Great to see you back out on a familiar field with your pockets full of coins! Glad you were able to get out before the dark 👻😂

Non-alcoholic beer? That's like decaffinated coffee, totally useless. LOL Nice find on the two pence!!! Good on you, John. Thanks.
Good to see you, I was bored! Quite a few finds, interesting.
Six coins and a nice little deorative artifact thing.

Hello John, from sunny Queensland Australia... what a lovely day you have had, love the bit of history that comes with you finds...
That Charles 2nd coin is a beauty I have never found one in that condition so great job 👍
Many thanks. From time to time I get a half decent one. I’ve had one absolute belter in 24 years which had pride of place in my display cabinet from a pure sand field

Yes John, I'm always watching and yes the Aberfeldy highland single malt was very nice 😍👍

Nice selection, I'm sure I wasn't the only one shouting 'it's a coin!' when you pulled out the CRII lol
Really happy to see you return to this old site.

Been waiting for you. Storming in canada. Need some entertainment 😂
Great to see someone detecting today, pouring rain here on the east coast of the US.
I have been checking all morning to see if you have posted a new dig .
👍👍
You have not been there for a while!
I`m surprised the ground is not frozen, it`s well frozen up here.
At 8.05 when you found a penny it looked like there was an edge of a coin in the piece of mud you threw back
Yes, I noticed it, too. Looked silver-ish.
Hello John
Excellent video as always! Btw the photos are amazing!
Awesome video as usual. Cheers mate 👍
More coins and history,as usual a great hunt!
Let's Go
No detecting for me at the moment as I'm recuperating after a knee replacement op. How nice finds❤

Germany was blockaded too with the loss of 2 million, mainly children and old people. My Granny told me stories of being a child in Germany at that time and the hunger.
You know, I would be SO chuffed to dig a George V penny. They’re not really that common here in Kansas though…😉😂
The gallows field keeps producing. I look forward to seeing what the new permission pops up with.
Very nice a gallows hunt....you managed well on coins
Gongraths with the 6B Views before
3 years Anniversary very very impressive! Did n't see that coming
At all😱👍 Nice to give Gleggy a
X mas Whisky! One of the reasons
I stopped as a Sub on his Channel
Was hir Urge to upload videos, when
He was D....🙄 Maybe John will
Get some silver in March??
WE? Only for Royalty, or if you get
The Silver UA-cam sign😜🔝❤️
Another first - First drop I seem to think of 2024!
@ 4:00 possibly a brake pipe union or coupling like the type used for your brakes on your car, could actually be over a hundred years old tbf
5:09 I thought I was tripping 🤣 😂
The only complaint I have about your channel is I always want a longer video ! Does this make me selfish? 🤔
👏🏼👏🏼
What’s this ah just a coin it’s over a hundred years old but meh… hmm on other old coin over a hundred nothing new lol smh those are in great shape for being found in a field your definitely spoiled with 2-500 year old coins popping out of the ground. All that aluminium and trash your pulling out of Mother Natures skin is about to be paid back in silver my friend. She appreciates it.
Ive seen you get those spoked toy train wheels before. You must have a pile of them
That second item was agricultural. It’s a spray head..screws onto a supply pipe for spraying water, fert. or insecticides
Hi John, the decorative buckle thingy looks like it could be an art nouveau period hair clasp?
The ring thing looks like horse tack used to connect 2 or 3 leather straps that go in different directions together.
Call it a coincidence but in Austria the most common coin are 2 groschen from the 1920s.. i find these coins as often than you find the half pennys and pennys 😅 i thought you should know 😁
No silvers but hey. The year just started. Good day
Love your videos! Can I ask what software you use to edit them? I'm thinking of doing some of my own??????
I use DJI Mimo which I get for free as I own a DJI gimble…. But not sure if you can buy it or not?!? Many thanks
Not a detectorist question but a Scotsman question.
How many kilts does the modern Scotsman own?
Thanks,
Kevin
That "thing" looks like a nozzle tip used on a spraying apparatus.
Gallows,, in the middle of zero
another great video
when were the winners picked?
Queen Victoria, 1837-1901 known as 'The Grandmother of Europe'
Was that a photoshop jobby when the coin changed and became clear? … not seen that before very cool!
not to bad tho but wheres my bottle of tasker whisky then john boy lol
Hope the weather keeps at bay for you to keep entertaining us🤞. Any sign of the new hoard hunter that Regton is going to let you test drive?
Hi Tanja. Land is frozen just snow as we are in a cold spell, but fingers crossed I’ve got four videos saved which I’m hoping will tide me over until the thaw!!
Regton detector on delay due to the frozen ground but hopefully soon!
Looks like a cable guide.
The threaded something is a spray nozzle.
Have you posted the giveaways?
I definitely think you’re due for a silver and overdue for a gold. Great finds even without those.
Your 1690 coin might be a Absalom pencil of gallops medal.
Every time I hear about the first day of the Somme, I can't believe it and have to look it up again. It's unfathomable to have 60,000 casualties in a day. If I recall, the General was brought up on charges for it.

If I lived in Scotland I'd be finding ancient coins to.🙄I guess I'l have to settle for crushed beer cans and condom wrappers here in Miami .🌴
Well you might just have to move 😜 best wishes
Just curious. Is there anywhere I could get a hat?
Thanks for the interest…. Merchandise is on the to do list, but hopefully coming soon!! Keep your eyes peeled
iron maiden has a song about this...hallowed be thy name...correct me if im wrong
